From what I've read, it appears you've aced my directions perfectly. My DVD Decrypter is that of version 3.5.4.0. I doubt that is the issue, since many in here burn the final .ISO file with Nero. I do burn at the slowest speed possible (the slower the burn, the deeper the burn, the easier the laser can read the data.)
Pandora Tomorrow is one of the games I copied using the same steps, and it's playing just fine. I'm using Swap Magic 3.6 as well. Perhaps my routine will not work on systems with an actual mod chip, but I would be baffled to think why not.
I'll have to step to the side and see what somebody else comes up with. I wouldn't delete your final image just yet, and, don't throw away your burned game either. I'm willing to be somebody has an added solution.
Perhaps you may need to list exactly what mod chip you have, and system. If you've already listed that material, my apologizes, I must have missed that info.
For those using Swap Magic 3.2, I did find there is a fix using some DVDLoader file that is for download. The file is listed next to the game at www.swapmagicfix.com. That's out of my league there, so perhaps somebody else can explain that one.

i however have no problem with swap magic 3.6. i have a older ps2 so i can't help ya out with them new fancy shamncy flip tops. on another note... i have had no problems with alot of games. if i game is too big i just don't do it. i have all the software to rebuild games. but how does rebuilding shrink a game? the only way to shrink a game from DVD9 to DVD5 is to delete garbage and trash files. well i looked for these files and i can't find them in the games. kessen 3 and grand turismo 4. i gave up on them. however a game that has me totally stumped is a simple small game called FANTASTIC 4. the game is under 4.7 gig, so the size is not the problem. i burned it at 4x on top quaility t.y. DVD-R. i burned it 5 times. using 4x disks and 8x disks. the burns are successful! SWAP MAGIC 3.6 does not read any of them!!! why? has anyone else burned this game and got it to work with swap magic? it is not that important to back it up, but it would be nice. thanks all

Okay, i had Digital9x's instructions all planned out, got 3 images ready to burn when my dvd's arrive... and then i read this:
"it prompted me to save the iml to a folder after that. i named it PANDORA.iml"
Why PANDORA? is that what you have to call them? wont that effect anything? shouldn't it generate a name automaticly?
and whats this SLUS business? how do u no if a file is slus or not to no how many there are? so if there are 2? it would be SLUS2? no idea... help me out please! i wanna be 100% ready to backup games when my dvd's arrive! Thanks yall...

If you followed my steps that I listed, you would see that the actual game size of the final image is a great deal smaller than the initial image. None of the data is "shrunk". The "voids of blank space" that are considered data in the initial image are removed with ISOBuster.
I have a created a working copy of Fantastic 4. I am using Swap Magic 3.6, and I have installed the new flip lid as well. Are you using the DVD Loader cd that came with Swap Magic 3.6? There are two cds that come with it. One is a CDR boot disc and a DVD boot disc. You use the appropriate boot disc that matches the type of disc you burned your game to.
Any one on here that has followed my steps to a tee, do this.
1. Right click the first image you created with DVD Decrypter, and select Properties. Write down the image file size.
2. Right click the final image created with IML2ISO, select properties, and write that number down.
3. Compare the two numbers, and you will see that the final image is a great deal smaller that the initially created image. Thus, the "voids of blank space" have been removed.
At the boot screen of Swap Magic 3.6, you can just press X to load the game once you have swapped it, or press "special boot." I never select the "special boot." I always just press the "x."
I have confirmed my image rebuilding method with the folks at Swap Magic, and they agree with my method. That's why I'm on Gamefly now renting and copying every game I get my hands on.
Also, on the side, I modify PS2's with the new flip lid (old bulky style and the new slim lines). I buy the kits bundled with Swap Magic 3.6. So far, I have modified 26 PS2s in that manner so far, and each system works with no problem with the games I copy for them. Two of the systems include mine (the new slim line), and my daughter's (the old bulky style). Each one has the new flip lid as well.
If you have the new slim-line, and you have installed the new lid, did you remember to put back the two silver slotted pieces that are held down by the two tiny screws that hold the lid in place? If you leave them out, you will end up with a dud system. Well, atleast I did when I first installed a new lid and left them off.
With the new lid in place, the eject button should never ever be used. The lid's surrounding piece (the rectangular portion) should be snuggly in place as well, to where it's not raised the slighest from the system itself.
To FT2005.
The IML name you select can be "john_doe", "suzzy_Q", or anything you want. The name only matters so that you know what it is. The name has nothing to do with what is burned to the disc. The reason is because the data is stored in the Volume information you typed in for CD/DVD Gen. If you prefer, you can use the Volume name of the disc that DVD Decrypter first gives you as it created the image. Most of the time, the default name is dvd_movie. I was also concerned about that question, but I wrote the guys that created CD/DVD Gen, and received the same response that I just shared with you.
Also, you don't always type in SLUS. Most of the time, there is a SLUS file on the original game disk that also has a number in its name. You type in whatever the word is, example: SLUS, followed by the accompanying number. The games thus far that I have helped with on here via the questions asked, have a SLUS file with a number. So, for that box, type in the word you see in the game file listings that has the number next to it. If you don't key in the correct file name that has the number next to it, as well as, you leave out the number of that file in the 2nd box, the game will not work. That information is checked by the game itself as a part of the copy proection.
To the Masses:
If you would like, as a test, I will mail out a copy of Pandora or Fantastic 4 to a few of you that want to troubleshoot your console. Since I'm not asking for any money in return for my time, I can't see this idea being a bad thing. I troubleshoot computers for a living, thus, I would find this no different than if I was doing a house call. Just contact me at gigabytechris@charter.net or gigabytechris@gmail.com. This is open to any of you that live in the USA. All copies will be first tested on my consoles here in my home. So, if the game doesn't work for you, don't throw it away. Let's figure out why.
I use any cheap DVDs that I can get my hands on. I normally always purchase whatever brand goes on sale at my local Office Max. I've used brands such as the Office Brand itself, Fuji, K-Hypermedia, and many others. Since I burn movies as well (now have over 1400 copied movies in my collection), I tend to get stuck with -R dvds because the +Rs are sold out, but my PS2 and both of my DVD players can play either -R and +R dvds, so, I don't think the disk type has anything to do with the playbacks, oh yeah, this includes my Xbox as well. I always burn my games and movies and Music CDs at 4X.
Patches:
In the days that I copied Playstion 1 games, I had to near about patch every game image I created, because I had a mod-chip installed. With that in mind, if your system is chipped, you may need to patch your initial image file, and leave out the rest of my steps. There is a patch for Fantastic 4 out here on this forum. I will dig around and see if I can find it.

Okay,
I have found a patch file for Fantastic 4. For those of you that can't seem to get my method to work, do this.
1. Insert the game into your computer.
2. Open DVD Decrypter.
3. Press R, or click Mode/ISO/Read.
4. Under that category "Destination File", click the folder icon
to the extreme right.
5. A new box appears.
6. Select the folder to where you want to save the file.
Recommendation: the desktop.
7. For the name of the file, just type in: F4
8. Click Save.
9. Click the CD to Drive button at the bottom.
10. Once the image is created, run this patch for that image. I've
uploaded it for you all to grab. The link is good for 7 days
from the date of this posting.
Removed ... Read the forum rules.
11. To get the patch to work, just double click the patch file from
inside the rar file. A program window will open up.
12. You have to click the "readme" button for the program to
function. Close the readme window. It will just confuse you.
13. Make sure your ISO file and the patch program is in the same
folder (or both on the desktop).
14. Click the Browse button for the patcher, and select the F4.iso
file.
15. Click Start.
16. Once this process is done, simply burn it with DVD Decrypter.
A. Open DVD Decrypter.
B. Press W or click Mode/ISO/Write.
C. Look for the word Source. Click the folder icon to the
right of it. Select the F4.iso.
D. Click the Drive-to-CD button at the bottom.
17. Play your burned game and Enjoy!!!

Cool Cool, thanks man...so if the file name lets say is not SLUS, but sces = Tekken 5, sles = pro eve soccer 4 & Batman begins (THATS WHAT IT SAYS ON MY GAMES, Remember im in Europe, so Thats PAL Games, so that should be right? right?)
lol..im guessing american is SLUS...
i did your steps, just to test it... i came out with only 1file at the end...which i believe was an iso, does that mean i did it right yes?
Although The "CD-DVD-ROM Generator version 1.20" created a couple of files (which im guessing i delete after the whole process is done?)
And out of your Knowledge, you think i should burn that final image using dvd-dycrepter or Nero? or even Alcohol 120% or anything else?
All my programs are Registered =p so no problem in that department! an i have Nero 6 ultra edition..but if u suggest i use something besides dvd dycrepter please make sure you tell me how to use another program, and if theres any settings i need to change, n what to tick or not tick! =) thanks, you been alot of help, honestly!

Do I have to have a ModChip to play these games? Do I have to have SwapMagic to play these games? I thought that the process of burning these games would eliminate my need of a modchip.

*** I think you are correct there.
i did your steps, just to test it... i came out with only 1file at the end...which i believe was an iso, does that mean i did it right yes?
...Yes. That should be the final image file that you are to burn to a blank DVD. You will notice it's a great deal smaller than the initial image file created.
Although The "CD-DVD-ROM Generator version 1.20" created a couple of files (which im guessing i delete after the whole process is done?)
Yes, you should delete all IML files and the first image file created once you have burned the rebuilt image. Keeps your hard-drive from housing un-needed files.
And out of your Knowledge, you think i should burn that final image using dvd-dycrepter or Nero? or even Alcohol 120% or anything else?
Some folks prefer Nero, others use DVD-Decrypter, as I do. However, any software burning package that will burn .ISO files will do the trick.
...if theres any settings i need to change, n what to tick or not tick! =) thanks, you been alot of help, honestly!
I just simply right click my final image file, and select "burn with DVD Decrypter." I perform no changes inside of the settings for DVD Decrypter. All of the settings are the normally installed default settings.

Yes, you either need a mod-chip installed in your system, or you need to purchase the "new lid/swap magic combo 3.6). You have to have some means to boot the burned games. Basically, the mod-chip boots the operating system. It's kind of like starting a car without actually having to have a battery.
I recommend the new flip lid/swap magic 3.6 combo. The lid is simple to install, and you just boot with a swap magic disc, then swap it out with your burned copy of your games.
I purchased mine here.

As you can see in the image, the lid flips like that of a toilet seat. The eject button is never used again.
If you have the older style PS2, here's what it will look like.

Thanks Digital9x & hursty! Haha...
If any of you can help in this department, take your time don?t worry... but I?m getting 24Mb Broadband soon, and I?m guessing I should just download games... at speeds like that... I can go through 10games a day minimum, but yea? if you can like? write down the game names and official size or close to it would be fine? so I can know if I?m downloading fakes or originals!
Like I said, take your time, and if you can?t be bothered it?s cool?if there are any sites that have this information that?s cool too, just holla the link! Peace =)

The steps that Digital9x offerred are superb. However, I have an added bonus. If you use his steps, that's great and all. But, he left one out. If the games are online playable, there's another step to employ.
Here is how I duplicated Pandora Tomorrow.
Tools needed are as follows:
WinImage
Disc Id Finder
DVD Decrypter
ISOBuster.
DNAS ID
- Inserted Game Disk
- Let DVD Decrypter create an image of it.
- Removed Game disc from computer
Now that I had the image created, I had to determine which image files inside of the game, if any, had a "cd checker". Have you ever went online with one of your games, loaded your network info, then saw that DNAS Authentication screen? Well, any game after 2003 has one or more files that have that checker embedded. It's looking for the Disc Id number. You have to first, discover if any of the image files have a disc checker embedded, and, if so, you have to patch those files with the actual disc ID from the retail cd. Here's how you do it.
My example will show the Swap Magic 3.6 routine I follow.
1. Insert Swap Magic DVD disc.
2. Powered on PS2
3. At the menu, removed the disc, and inserted my Disk ID Finder
disc that I made.
4. That disc told me to insert the game disc. To do so, I pressed
the eject button to stop the current disc from spinning. I
then removed that Disc ID Disc, and inserted the Pandaro retail
disk.
5. Pressed X as required.
6. Three categories of numbers were revealed, and the first one,
the Disc ID number is the one that needs to be written down.
7. Now, with that number handy, I returned to my computer.
8. Opened ISOBuster, and had it open my pandora.iso file. I then
had it only extract the image files found inside of it to a
new folder.
9. I found 6 image files in there. 3 are in the root folder and
3 are in the modules folder. However, only one of them has
the ID checker embedded, and it's the DNAS300.img file.
10. How did I know that? I ran the DNAS ID program I have, and
had it scan each .img file until it told me "checker found."
Once it found it, in the same window, I entered the 5 hex
numbers that I saw on the tv screen. Then I clicked the
patch button.
11. Closed ISObuster and the DNAS ID patcher.
12. Open WinImage.
13. Had it open my Pandora.iso file.
14. At the top, I clicked "image/inject." I then pointed to the
DNAS300.img file (the file I just patched). I asked "overwrite"
and I clicked yes.
15. Since that was the only file that was needed to be patched,
I closed Winimage. And, when you close Winimage, the ISO is
auto rebuilt for you on the flash.
16. Finally, I re-opened DVD Decrypter, and had it burn the
pandora.iso back to blank dvd.
Once the game was burned, I loaded it on my PS2, selected Multiplayer, select ubisoft, went through the network loading portion, and then came to the DNAS Authentication screen. Success!!! It passed with flying colors.
You can find the Disc Identifier and the DNAS Patcher at PS2info.com.

I'm sure I can help out in this arena. I have all of his stuff saved, down to the files and locations. I'll be cautious not to make public any so called "illegal" cracks. However, it's strange that one can't publicize cracks when this entire forum is built around nothing more than hacking movies and games. Sounds kind of two-sided in my opinion, perhaps even hypocritical.
The FBI took down the DVD Decrypter site, but yet the software is made available here. So, I say with that in mind, Digital9x should be allowed back. If one where to have paid any attention on the DVD Decrypter forums, Digital9x had over 5 stickies in there. That means his help was top-notch, to the point, and very very clear. He's extremely popular on the Cdcovers site as well in the movie copying arenas, and even posts his PS2 knowledge there as well.
It was from him I learned of the DNAS patching utility, and the DNAS file scanner. Something that I'm sure was an oversight on his behalf for having left out.
However, his knowledge will continue onward in here. I keep tabs on all of his work. Heck, I FTP into his machine every day to grab new utilities. I vote that he be allowed back in here. In any event, I'll see to it that any unsolved problems in here are passed on to him, and I will pass on his messages. Heck, he just might be reading all of the postings daily anyway just to keep tabs on the folks he was trying to help out. If you need to contact him, just let me know.
