anubis how can you say that "it makes them rich for almost nothing." what do you mean nothing, to me blu ray is nothing when it compares to xbox live.
at the moment my xbox live is down b/c the internet in my house is gone so have to do with 4 games that are average on mhy own, but for the short time that i had xbox live i was playing on my xbox 360 all day.
and 211pac you said that if people knew anything then they would buy a ps3, well maybe i do not know much about the inside of these two consoles but as for games the 2006 line up looks great for the xbox 360.
and people always complain about M$ fanboys but i will give you an example of a ps3 fanboy i know. basically i posted the guy this link over msn saying that gta4 will be released on xbox 360 and ps3 and this is his answer, "IGN is second hand" then i made him look really silly in front of his other ps3 fanboys.

If you look at original pictures of the back of the ps3 there are 3 network ports. Originally it was designed to be able to plug in your other ps3s to host an internet connection. Basically what a standalone router does. Sony decided to drop this, probably cost vs benefit ratio. Everyone who uses broadband to play games online already has a connection and at least a spare or two. If not, hubs are cheap.

2PAC, at CES there rumors all around the floor taht the PS3 won't debut until ealry 2007, but i hope it is 2006.

I highlighted the key word here. The sad part is, people will take that rumor, and use it and argue till they're blue in the face that it is a fact from Sony themselves. And others will take it and use it that its just m$ spreading lies to make themselves look better.

Anyone can guess the general release date, but until sony decides, no one will know.

What are you doing with the PS3 when you buy that and all Sonys Blue ray media? Will you not be making Sony Richer than they already are?
Listen to your selves. You will actualy be buying a console becuase of a company. Thats good if the company was nice , good and had litle money but both these companies are the complete opposite. I said both companies. So if they are as bad as one another then buy the console you like not the company you like.
Anyway with Xbox live you are paying for a service, much like World of Warcraft. WoW has people working to constantly update, carry out repairs, help support, etc. You are not giveing the money away to MS for no reason. The reason why Sony will most likely not do this is because it is the plain ordinary internet set up and there is no service just like your ordinary PC.
Also I think you will find that the ordinary people want a nice little multi media piece of equipment under their TV, not a computer. The people that want a computer are geeks. Fair enough to them as this is what they want and they never seem to have enough computers, but everyone else has a computer for work and a TV for entertainment.

-hye buddy i know it was a rumor...i was just telling him that information becuase he is acting like he is 100% against the 360....i'm for both so i hope the PS3 does come out in 06.

you know, the ps3 is a multi media piece too, but just so happens to support more if you want it. i could put linux on it, or a hack for windows maybe, and use it as my computer. or i can play linux games on it, watch movies, listen to music, or browse the net on an HDTV and surroud sound with a wireless keyboard and the controller. do not tell me the ps3 is not for media.
from what i heard and saw once myself, the 360's dvd playback is not great. plus with the addition of bluray, a ps3 can watch Blu-ray movies. over all, bluray has more support than HD-DVD, and i believe it will win the war. what if you buy an HD-DVD drive for ur 360 and it is not picked up as a format? there went 150 bucks. but i bet ull say what if bluray fails.. well then, an an HD-DVD drive may come out for the ps3. but i dont believe that to be possible since the ps3 includes bluray and 360 does not have HD-DVD, meaning the ps3 is building bluray a nice base of costomers.

Didn't know it could. I guess you would have to be hooked up to a PC running Windows Media center. Mines down for the count.(10 days) I was tring to play online/ Halo2/ and it crashed. I have XP Home.

I think all companies (nintendo, m$ and sony) are filthy rich.
Think of it, if bill gates wasnt greedy for money, I'm pretty sure he would be donating lots of money to sick children and stuff like that.
Same with sony and nintendo.
But i dont think anyone did this yett.
Sony and billgates are greedy for money, and dont even donate a penny.
Unless they do and i dont know.

Look what I found
Yesterday, we reported on a PS3 developer's inquiry about the lack of completed systems. Now, according to UK based The Inquirer, the PS3 machines featured at CES last week were empty. In response to the optimistic stance that Sony can still deliver a completed system by this year's E3, the article contends: "Sources have told us that this rosy scenario is at odds with the work going on right now, expect debugging to go on for quite a while yet. Add minimum 4 months to the end date, and you have a possible release time. The long and short of it is, don't expect a PS3 before E3, and even that is a very long stretch."
Granted, this is still all speculation and nothing will be final until Sony announces an official release date. But if true, let's hope the creator of the Playstation can work a miracle and deliver the next-gen console on time.

look, donations dont make him a good man. they try to portray him as one. say he donates a million dollars to an orginization, but really how much is a million dollars to him? about equal to 75 dollars for me. its not much at all. every i dis gates to says "omg but he donantes" its pocket change to him and it doesnt change the fact that he is very unethical and doesnt care for much more than his own profit. does he really need more money?

So anubis please can you give evidence to your claim that Sony is a good company and that the main men in charge arnt exactly like Bill Gate's? Dont you see that Bill Gates is directly under the spot light so you see a buisness man for truely what they are? the people High up in Sony are exactly the same other wise they wouldnt be in buisness, its just that they are even worse becuase you cant see them like you see Bill Gates.
