Someone has gotta help me out. I tried connecting my PS2 HD to my PC and whenever I finish loading games and connect it back to the PS2 and insert my HD Loader disc, it tells me I need to format the HD. I was using HDL Dumb or something like that. What am I doing wrong?
please help

http://ps2manuals.com/ - good if u aint got da manuals for obvious reasons

Apparantly the compatibility for hd hadvance and hd loader is quite similar.

I bought HDloader over the phone last week and i got it and i kept getting "please insert ps or ps2 format disc" so i sent back the disc only and kept the hdloader manual and case and they took ages to send my replacement then i got it today and expecting to open the package and find a HDloader disc I opened it and it was a copy of HDadvance 2.0 but when i put the disc in it says hdadvance v 2.1 . So now I have HDadvance 2.1 and a HDloader case and manual hehe. oh by the way do you really have to use both discs with hda.2? because I have ripped and played two cd based games using only the DVD disc the whole time.

u only need to use the dvd for a dvd and the cd for a cd when u convert backup up games. hope that makes sense. (this is answered in this very thread!)

the only diff with hd adavnce 2.1 to 2.0, i think, is that fact that u can enter jap text instead of normal letters.

ok check it out, I got the HDLoader, Ive backed up GTA:SA, and a few others. There are some titles that back up but wont play after backing up. Ive been told it was because they were DVD9 format games. Does anyone have any idea where a persone can find the list of DVD9 games?

Hello... i thought for sure i saw this covered somewhere, but i cant find it.

does anyone know a way to put PGEN and snes-station or "it might be Nes" on to the HDD and then get them to boot and select ROMS using HDAdvance?
i have an unmodified PS2 and would like to keep it that way. I have been using my HDAdvance for a while now, and REALLY like it, but i want to play some old games on my PS2!!

thanks, bill

jim u fool, read my post properly, u have to use the corrisponding disc for when u want to copy a previously backup up disc (that means a game u have copied on to a blank dvd or cd) to the harddrive

Does HD Advance 2.0 support Dual Layered discs yet? I have a copy of Champions of Norrath and Xenosaga, and up till now I've never heard of anything that works with them without http'ing into the PS2. I have Loader, and it works like ass. Thanks!

Dual Layer on HD Advance 2.0? Thanks.

does any one know if you have to have the network adapter startup disc (or if a network adapter is needed) to use a network adapter on your ps2 with the hard drive?
- and if you do is there such thing as a PAL Ver. of it? because I cant find it anywhere -

appreciate any help
thanx...

No, you do not need the startup disc for the network adapter to use the harddrive. In fact, all the drivers and software you need to use the harddrive on the PS2 with copied games is on the disc copiers themselves.

To review, all you need is HD Advance and the hardware. No network startup disc required, not will you ever use it unless you plan to go online...

so what does the ps2 do when you turn it on when a network adapter and hard-drive is attatched?
-does it go strait to a different screen to do with the harddrive and network adapter?
-do you have to have the hd advance cd or dvd in or does it load startup information strait from the hard-drive itself?
sorry about all the questions!

I have a Seagate 300gb HD and HDAdvance 2.0 works perfect and sees 276GB. I dunno how many games that translates into, but ... I was able to get like 8-9 games on my official 40gb Sony HDD.

bhphillips,

I would recommend buying the program. The HDAdvance 2.0 CDs and DVDs are pressed crazy and you can't rip or dupe them. It's only like $30 shipped ... bought my copy from consolepoint. It's worth it ...

Get the biggest HD you can afford. I have a 300gb and that's a lot of space.
