I have HDAdvance 2.0 + Maxtor 120gb + flip top. After backing up a game (burning it) I go through the procedure of booting with hdadvance, going to 'convert', flipping top and putting backup in, then flip down. PS2 does not recognize it as an 'original ps2 game' and wont install it?!?!? anyone have some insite for me, thanx

i had the same problem with one of my backups
what i did was i turned off the ps2, turned the white knob wheel thingy in the back of the inside of the ps2(when the filptop is up and there is no disc in) then re-tried converting the backup and it worked just fine
good luck

Has anybody successfully gotten Gran Turismo 4 (US version) to work with HD Advance 2.0? if so, how'd you do it??? I know it's a dual layered disc or something so I used my computer to put it on my hard drive using the program HDL_Dump. I put several other games on using the same program, and they all worked, but I gotta have the Gran Turismo 4!!! lol it's like the main reason I decided to get all this crap for my PS2. Any help would be appreciated! thanks.

.//bodom, you should read the official GT4 Thread. This ain't the place. No hard feelings, but there is a search feature to find topics on the forums. Asking questions that have been asked and rehashed is a sure-fire way to draw senior members' ire.

sorry, I read through a few pages of this thread and didn't see that someone had already asked the question. I'll find the gt4 thread. Still, if you yourself found a way to do it, could you let me know how? thanks. onto the gt4 thread!

i haven't tried hd loader but from what I hear, HD Advance 2.0 is AT LEAST as good as, if not better than hd loader. of course maybe the solution to all our problems is to use an emulator ^_^

No the hdadvance 2.0 is better then the hdloader for many different reasons, especcialy the fact that hdadvance is syill updating while hdloader is discontinued.

Hdloader=plays ALL the same games as Advance+more (including God of War now), does all the same things, isn't a cheap rip off by a cheap rip off group. Hdadvanced=nothing special, no real improvements at all. USB Extreme= expensive. USB Advanced= Same as Extreme only free. Here children, read and learn http://ps2hd.com/ You're welcome, my babies, you're welcome. LOL. :)

lol, the issue with usb advance is it requires an modchip, and it is a crack ripoff of usbextreme. Also there is no link to it on the site. Plus anything hdloader woks with hdadvance works with lol :). The only difference betweent eh two is , hdadvance 2.0 is not discontinued, is in more then one language, and has a capacity of up to 237 gb without the need of patching.

why just everybody support the (original) HDLOADER not those (clones) HDADVANCE
think this, is it better to own buy bootleg or original..? think the quality on it and this also helps the producer of the product..

LOL the producer stopped making thekm along tinme ago. you should learn why people are getting the hdadvance before telling them to support a item that is gone from the market a year ago lol. HDA is the new hdd item, hdloader is DEAD, Discontinued, in the dust, and wont sell any of their items anymore. So how can you support that?
Also can you prove its a bootleg, an official bootleg is almost like aburned disk, in which hdadvance isnt. Hdadvance works i non modded ps2's,also if its a copy, why does it work with a 237 gb hdd while hdloader only works with an 137 one?

HDA can play ALL the same games huh? I don't know what i'm talking about? OK then buddy, play God of War with HDA. Because i can do it right now with HDL. manofman, support for HDL is STILL going on HDA is what i'd call dead. EVERYTHNG HDA can do HDL can do too. Only more now.
"you should learn why people are getting the hdadvance before telling them to support a item that is gone from the market a year ago"
I KNOW what's going on. I keep my ear to the streets, bro. I can backup a game copy with my HDL. Plus, like i said before IT HAS A HIGHER COMPATIBILITY NOW THEN HDA! For all you noobs, i say if you aren't gonna get a modchip, go for Some sort of Swap Disk, and intall the NEW (even though it's supposedly not being updated) HDL on your memory card. Then you will be able to play games that HDA can't, yet. And you'll be able to do EVERYTHING HDA can do too. I know what i'm talking about and i'm not trying to get you to spend your money on substandard products. Hell, if you have an old Gameshark lying around you can install the exploit with that and not spend a dime. And still be better off then if you had bought HDA. Or you can spend money like SOMEONE is trying awful hard to get you to do.

basically it's a top for PS2 that like the old PS1 top. It flips open instead of you using the eject button. Then you can just boot up a Bootdisk of some sort (Swap Magic, Gameshark) and instead of pushing the eject button, you swap the boot disk for your backup copy, then close the lid. And play your game, and be happy. You really DON'T have to spend a small fortune on disks and modchips to play backup games. The bare minimum is a bootdisk of some sort. Then you can have Have Hdloader OR Advanced (if you want) for free. Advanced really isn't anything but Hdloader.

You need a fliptop or slidecard to play backups with Swap Magic, because you have to "swap" the Swap Magic disks with your backup without pushing the eject button. You can also play backups with a ModChip. But if you don't want to pay a fortune on a ModChip and have to solder it, etc then go with the Swap Magic disks and a Fliptop. If you have those you can also install Hdloader on your memory card for free. You can also make disks with hundreds of old SNES and SEGA Genisis roms on them and play them too. Which is pretty cool. I was in your place once wanting to learn all this crap so i'll point you in the right direction http://www.exploitstation.com/ . :) If you ever need help doing any of this stuff feel free to P.M. me. I'll be more then happy to help.

HELP WANTED!!! I am using hdloader, & 3-160GB Maxtor HD?s, of course only 127GB. I designed my own adapter/switch to have access to my HD?s INDIVUIDUALLY w/o unhooking each one to get access to other games. Here are my questions. 1 big HD would look better.
#1 is hdadvance compatible with my hdloader drives. Would the HDL games work with the HAD program, would it reformat the drives, would I lose all my games. I know that it will give me more space from that 160GB but not worth it if I lose all that I have already.
#2 how do I get dual layer games to my ps2 hard drives. I do have an extra drive space on my pc to connect it to, but what do I do after I have it install on my comp, I don?t want to clear the drive on accident.
#3 since I have the Internet adapter, I thought that I read something about FTPing to the ps2, is that possible? If so, would it be easier to do that instead of putting the hard drive in my pc. More information requested here, thank you.
#4 if my ps2 breaks, and I have to get a new one. The new ones are very small w/o the adapter, what are my options with all the Maxtor HD?s. Am I out of luck, any insight?
I am sure that I have more questions, but can?t think, its 2am. Any help is very much appreciated, thank you to all that reply. Please forgive me if these questions have been answered before.
