i was talking about converting real ps1 game iso's into eboots. so they can be played. but if you already have it in eboot form then make sure you dont have a custom coldboot or gameboot or any flash mods

what did you do to your psp with xflash just having xflash wont do anything.
so this for me when remove the battery form your psp (save your game first lol) then put it back in and start it. when it start do you hear the regular sound from the speakers of something different. when you start up a game does it flash the psp symbol and have moving circles in the background? if its diferent or doesnt have the circles you have a custom gameboot (no circles means gameboot if faulty or ther wasnt enough space for it). have you deleted anything of your flash memory to save space? (flash memory is what the firmware is stored on it is built into every psp. flash memory is not your memory stick)
check these things and report back.

Official sony firmwares cant play stolen/downloaded/backed up PS1 games. you HAVE to have a ps3 in order for you to download ps1 games from it via your psp. there will soon be a downgrader for 3.03 however seeing asthere has been and exploit found. for the exploit you will need and unpatched copy of Grand theft auto LIBERTY city stories (not vide city stories). if you buy a brand new copy it will be patched so your best off using a friends copy or a buying a used copy.

You trying to run the Goofy exploit? if you are, there should be a readme on how to run it using an unpatched version of liberty city stories.

Aye, I'm having the same issue. I'll keep this clear and consise to avoid confusion.
-I'm using AutoPopstation4
-The game I converted with it was Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain for the PS1
-I have v1.5 firmware and using DevHook to emulate v3.03 to run it
-Whenever I try to access the game I recieve the message "To use this content, you must activate the system."
-I followed this guide to do it: http://www.psphacking101.com/forum/viewt...b21f77bf34d6e28
Also, I heard that AutoPopstation doesn't compress the games well, yet Blood Omen turned out as a measly 3.01mb folder with a .iso extention and containing only two files named DOCUMENT.DAT and EBOOT.PBP.
Mayhap someone could help? Thanks. :-)

hpw many time must i repeat myself? OFFICIAL SONY FIRMWARES CANT PLAY CONVERTED GAMES! IF YOU ARE USING/EMULATION OFFICIAL SONY FIRMWARE IT WONT WORK. now if you on 3.0X (insert 2 or 3 where the x is depending on your FW version. OE-X (isert ab or c depending on your version) (Example: 3.03 OE-) (OE means open edition it is a custoom hacked firmware made by dark alex.
ph and yes the official firmware from 3.0 and above is a ps1 emu. but only the games sony release through the playstation network. which is only accesible via the PS3 (yes ps3 not psp). if you are using/emulation the official 3.0 or above firmware you must download these via the ps3 and copy them over via ps3 that will activate them. however you need to pay for the ps3 downloaded versions. and not many games are available.

Damn reading all that shit gave me a head ache. Follow these steps:
If you are on a firmware higher than 2.71 you WILL NEED an unpatched copy of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.
First do this:
http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstat...read.id=2792391
Then do this to upgrade to 3.03 OE-C:
http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstat...48114&jump=true
An unpatched copy of GTA will have the v2.00 upgrade on it and nothing higher.
All the above tutorials work. I have tried them both and I am now on 3.03 OE-C.
Once you have done all that then you can start using PS1 games. Forget offical firmwares and Dev hook they are shit and won't work. So get your EBOOT file of the game you want and put it in PSP/GAME/XXX(Call the folder what you want) (Oh and one folder per game please). Bobs your uncle and fannies your aunt you can now run PROPERLY converted PSX games. If you don't know how to convert them don't try you will only confuse yourselves just download someone elses work it will be easier on all of us :) If you still need help please return your PSP to the store you brought it from or sell it on ebay which ever you find easier ;)

Okaay, I've upgraded to 3.03 OE-C, but all's not well. If I try to launch a PS1 game the program opens all right, but no game, just black 'Something to do with those 3mb game files I presume. Can someone explain to me what that's all about?
And second, 3.03 OE-C starts to run all my emulators and homebrew (i.e. shows the colorful moving circles screen) but then jumps back to the menu and tells me "The game could not be started. (8002014C)". Do I need to relocate my game folders for this new firmware, reinstall them completely, or what? Many thanks :)
