well if all hes tryin to do is to rip the game then i wouldnt recommend what the last guy said. instead you should go to google and type in umd dumper or umdumper. its a program that rips the COMPLETE umd disc to ur memory stick. all u have to do is find someone with a copy of san andreas and you run the program. the program rips the umd to an iso at the root of ur memory stick. if the game is larger than your memory stick then the program will stop and allow you to rip the rest of the game that hasnt finished as many times as is needed

what do you mean when you say upgrade? FF7 doesnt upgrade ur psp. its just a program. maybe u should try redownloading it from somewhere else. unless u know that its just ur psp thats acting funny (like u played it on ur friends hacked psp or something)

Let me rephrase this lol
I uploaded ff7 from the original disc, like the video says, I tried to install custom firmware, but it just says game cannot be played, so now I upgraded it to 3.80, so now it displayed as a corrupted file. So I deleted it, if anyone can give advice or say it won't work, just say so.

File Description
The moment many PSP enthusiasts have been waiting for ? the Alpha release of Yoshihiro?s PSXP v0.1! In the past, it was believed that emulating the Nintendo 64 system was near impossible, yet PSMonkey and StrmnNrmn proved those critics wrong. Well, now Yoshihiro has taken emulation up a notch and has successfully emulated the Playstation released by Sony in 1994 (JP) and over 10 years later we are seeing it being emulated on a portable device!
One of the major aspects of the PSP is that it is stronger than the original Playstation and even comes to a point where many say it rivals the PS2?s graphics. Early this year, Sony announced that they are working on an official PS1 emulator for the PSP that will be released at a later date with a new firmware update. This will most likely come after the PS3?s launch.
Yoshihiro is, once again, breaking the boundries of the PSP with this new emulator. There have been several videos of the PSX emulator released in the past few days, many of which seemed too good to be true. However, the emulator is true, and you can test it out on your 1.50 PSP right now once you download it below!
Note: Here at PSPUpdates, we do not condone piracy, please do not distribute links to ISO files or BIN files as you will be banned from the comment; also applies if you are asking for them.

I would love it if you could help me. Thank You. Also I forgot to mention my PSP FirmWare is 4.05. Hope this helps.

I found this thread several times while using Google to search for "PS1 games not playing on PSP", but even when I read through these forums, there was no definitive answer to anything.
If you were able to play PS1 games before, but can't now, it might be because you installed a custom theme on the console. If you added a custom Opening_Plugin.rco in your Flash 0, you're gonna have to revert back to the original. I can't explain why this happens, but PS1 games only load if the original Opening_Plugin.rco is in tact.
When I would load my PS1 Eboots in my GAME folder, I would get a blank black screen and then I'd be forced to reboot on a freeze. Now everything is fine.
I hope my comment reaches another person and helps them. This thread kept popping up, so I assume someone with the same problem should find this easily!
Btw, I'm running 3.40 OE-A... I've been behind in the PSP modding the past year or so, so is there an available upgrade, or a different firmware that's better I can update to directly without needing the Lemmings or GTA disc like I did the first time? I can't find any 'new' information, just old stuff. I'd like to try something that may be more compatible with more games. I hate that I have to cross my fingers and hope that a PSP ISO/CSO loads when I put it in my ISO folder! There are so many games I want that won't play! There must be some support? an upgrade? Thank you.

I have 5.00m33-6 with popsloader. Everytime I try to run a PS1 game, it gives me the error that it cannot be started because the data is corrupted. Anybody know the solution to this?

its possible the eboot actually is currupted but you can try backing up your memory stick and formatting it because it helps to prevent this from happening even with perfect eboots, i would also format flash0 and reset settings in the recovery menu just to start our with a fresh slate and ensure that popsloader is installed and working correctly.
so if your downloading eboots make sure they are good and are made for later firmwares like 4.00 and up and if you have your own psx games rip your own so that you can be sure of the quality
aside from that all you need to do is place them in root:/PSP/GAME/PSXGAMENAME and their are no settings in the firmware that affect how psx is loaded so i would bet its something to do with the memory stick, formatting flash0 and resetting settings.

The game I tried to run is FF7 downloaded from piratebay and it's already converted into eboot by klown. According to the comments, it works. I'll try the things you mentioned and see what happens.

I doubt this will work if you have not downloaded the games from the playstation store but worth a try?
I downloaded the Command & Conquer series through the Playstation Store and put them on my PSP, I since updated the system to 5.03 (I think) and get the error message about needing to Activate The System Content. Browsing online I found nothing to help except one thread on here saying you need to connect to a PS3 and sign in. That is one way but there is another for ppl who do not have a PS3.
-Download Sony Media Manager for PSP (Free version I use, not Pro)
-Sign up for a Playstation Store account, which you need to be downloading PS1 and PSP games in the first place.
-Connect your PSP and run Media Manager and in the top left hand corner is the symbol for the Playstation Store, click it and sign in.
My games now run perfectly, I did download and install a demo at the same time through the Playstation Store but I doubt that had anything to do with activating the system.
