If you downloaded them they should have come packaged with the files and if you created them yourself they should have been generated which ever way I don't think they will work with out them and will need to be either regenerated or downloaded again. They go in the same folder as the EBOOT (PSP/GAME/XXX).

In PSP/GAME/BOLOK (BOLOK being my name for the game) there are two files: DOCUMENT.DAT and EBOOT.PBP, 36.5kb and 2.98mb respectively.

That seems like a very small eboot file the 2 games I have final Fantasy 7 is 3 eboots each 1 at 505mb and resident evil 3 which is 690mb if you are only getting a 3mb then there is something wrong from the get go IMO.

That's what I figured, but I've been trying all sorts of things to fix it (reinstallation, using a different unzipper, etc.) and I'm still getting the same result. The ISO generated is a nice 585mb, but when I try to convert that with autopopstation4 it shrinks down to a measley 3mb. Same thing happened when I tried the game SaGa Frontier. :-/

Have you tried downloading the eboot ready made?? I'll download autopopstation4 tonight and have a look see if I can't come up with some answers for you. What game ISO do you have?

Nay, I used Autopopstation4 and a totally different guid (I believe I've posted a link to it earlier). I tried the method at your link and it's working perfectly now. ^___^. Unfortunately some of my other games I wanted are too scratched to be read properly it seems. T__T
Anyway, yeah, now the file is 511mb and working fine. My next goals are PS2 games and finding a way to get a smaller file size for these suckers. >.o Oh, and can multi-disc games be used?
Many thanks. ^____^

Does anyone know how to setup the game manual for a ps1 game? I'm trying to maybe put a gamefaqs with it. Thanks!

Yes multidisk games can be done you just have to make sure you have the same save folder or when you move onto the next disk it won't find your file this is how it works with FFVII anyway.

Only if you do something really stupid like unplugg it or turn it off half way through. I've downgraded 3 PSP's with this method now and know another 7 people that have done the same and not had a single problem. Do exactly as it says in the links I posted and you will be fine deviate at all and you will have a shiney paper weight.

Hello all PSP Gods,
My dilema is a bit different than how to run ps1 games on the psp.
Im playing ff8 under 3.10 oe-a and it still annoys me that the game crashes/hangs whenever I use the draw command on an enemy and then do cast or when someone uses their special attack.
Odd enough is that this happens to both my PSP (the other is a 3.03 oe-c) as well with Chrono Cross.
I have also tried it on a 3.02 oe-b and with 3.03 oe-c with a 3.02 plugin.
Others out there claims that the game work without any flaw but not on any of my PSP.
Is this an emulator bug or an Autopopstation bug?
hint to newbies:
3.03 OE-A (meaning 3.03 Open Edition Revision A) is not the same as
3.03 update from www.yourpsp.com os from the psp network update.
OE-A is meant to run homebrew and not for piracy.

Not having played either of those games I can't really help you much. I know I had a some slow down but not a complete crash when playing FFVII all I did to fix it was up the clock speed in the settings problem you run into then is 333hz clock speed + running game from MS = Really really shitty battery life.

I'm not sure about the PAL versions of these games but I'm sure that the NTSC versions don't work, it's a bug in the emulator. Resident Evil 2 doesn't work, too. You could try the PAL versions on 3.10 OE-A, that firmware has PAL support, so you don't have to fix or patch the games.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Dear Mr. Strike,
Yes I have set my clock speed to 333hz before hand. I have also tested trying different clock speed if it would somehow "fix" it.
Dear Mr. Eisherz,
I thought that the NTSC format is more compatible than the PAL format (thus having a PAL to NTSC converter in autopostation).
But I shall try your suggestion as well.
Thanks for the help guys, might as well play it on the PS2 (but having a fix for the psp would still be great).

I know I have experienced a few glitches playing FF VII, such as flickering text at full screen and no swirl effect during battle initiation. But I believe those may change depending upon what you used to rip the iso, how you converted it, and what custom firmware you are using. I am still playing with it to figure it out. Luckily no crashes...
But, if anyone knows how to move saves between CD's (or eBoots) for this game and others, that would be a GREAT help! I don't want to get 30hrs into the game and realize that I can't get beyond disk 1. Any help is appreciated...
Finally, thanks to this thread for clearing up my conversion troubles. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/450045

Originally posted by Strike: Damn reading all that shit gave me a head ache. Follow these steps:
If you are on a firmware higher than 2.71 you WILL NEED an unpatched copy of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.
First do this:
http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstat...read.id=2792391
Then do this to upgrade to 3.03 OE-C:
http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstat...48114&jump=true
An unpatched copy of GTA will have the v2.00 upgrade on it and nothing higher.
All the above tutorials work. I have tried them both and I am now on 3.03 OE-C.
Once you have done all that then you can start using PS1 games. Forget offical firmwares and Dev hook they are shit and won't work. So get your EBOOT file of the game you want and put it in PSP/GAME/XXX(Call the folder what you want) (Oh and one folder per game please). Bobs your uncle and fannies your aunt you can now run PROPERLY converted PSX games. If you don't know how to convert them don't try you will only confuse yourselves just download someone elses work it will be easier on all of us :) If you still need help please return your PSP to the store you brought it from or sell it on ebay which ever you find easier ;)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Everything you need mate ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Note: Stick with 3.03 OE-C for now 3.10 OE has a few bugs that need working out you can always upgrade later.

Dear All,
This is just a reference to my previous post above regarding final fantasy viii freezing on the psp.
I have found no solution from all 3.xx firmwares that shouldn't make the game freeze from time to time.
But one thing that came close to a solution (incorporated in firmware 3.11) is the "reset game" option.
Better than doing a cold boot.
Have a nice day people
