When I open up clone dvd2 with any dvd running in the back this is what it shows on the clonedvd screen. F:/video_TS/VTS_O2_O.BUP:file not found[OSUtillO] [Wstring]]I have tried opening it title only and movie and menus and it gives me same error. Has anybody seen this or know what to do to get around it?

Yes in the link in my post it has this:
For Hairspray please

* Use AnyDVD 6.2.0.1
* Use CloneDVD 2.9.1.2
* Disable "Use CSS Key Archive" in AnyDVD (in Video DVD -> CSS Keys)

I used 2 different version of AnyDVD - latest and one before - on 2 different pc's and all was good on my end.
I did the widescreen version - I don't know if that may make a diff or not.

Still failing then give DVDFab a go. I might also try another drive to rip form - you never know.

I got DVDFAB to rip it now DVDSrink will not open it says invalid file in data. I seem to be getting closer.

I am using clonedvd to shrink it and then I will try and burn it. I had it once, but I started getting the messed up audio after chapter 3.

LOCOENG mentioned earlier that he'd seen where Nero Recode was doing some movies with the DVDFab HD Decrypter output that Shrink was having problems with. If you have Recode, you may want to give that a try.

I tried using fab then at that point shrink, but shrink gave me an error. I was able to use clonedvd2, but I still needed to shrink it. I used shrink after that and it worked after using clonedvd2. I then burned it and it shows nothing. I can play the iso with nero, but for some reason it does not burn. Is recode 2 a free software if so where is a download site that you can recommend. Thanks in advance Iracekx

you're confusing us. if you were able to transcode it with clonedvd 2 you can burn with the same program. It has a burning engine. rrecode 2 comes with nero ultra, its not freeware but there is a free trial. you can downlaod here

FYI - as someone else posted, same results here:

Just finished watching. Perfect copy with Clone DVD 2 (to rip and burn, latest version downloaded, might have left out foreign languages if any) & AnyDVD (running in the tray and default settings, latest version downloaded) ONLY! Problem solved. thx

I used shrink because clonedvd2 did not shrink the movie I figured it would after using DVDFab. When I converted the files to iso using CloneDVD2 it left it at 5.07 gigs.

I took and ripped movie using DVDfab it was at 5.07 gigs. I tried to use shrink and it gave me an error when opening the files. So I decided to use CloneDVD2 to shrink it and convert to an iso file. I opened CloneDVD2 and converted the files to iso, but it left the movie in it original compression of 5.07 gigs. So I figured that I needed to compress it with shrink. I burned it after using shrink and it was like the DVD was blank. I do not know why CloneDVD2 did not shrink it for me while converting it to an iso file if it would have shrinked it for me I would have probably been good to go.

Have been using DvdDecrypter, now HD version. Save to hard drive, then use Shrink to burn, over 2 years never got following error "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Out of memory. Not enough storage space to process this command." Unique to Hairspray? There is plenty of storage space, so there is something else going on. Any idea?

DVD Shrink is choking on this title, you will have to use Recode or some of the Slysoft offerings. AFAIK this is unique to Hairspray.

The problem has shown up on a few releases before. The problem is usually structural copy protection causing the transcoding and recording software to see the files as noncompliant. I've had good success with using AnyDVD + DVD Decrypter to rip the files to the HD and processing the files through FixVTS. Sort of like RipIt4Me, only with the decryption capabilities of AnyDVD. From looking around the forum, I noticed this was one of the methods used for DVDs with heavy structural protection before RipIt4Me. Some people use VobBlanker, but for this type processing I find FixVTS more simple to use.

The ripper from AnyDVD ver. 6.2.0.2 beta and DVDShrink will handle this title now.

anyone still having problems copying this with anydvd i have a few tips. first if you have another dvd rom drive try reaeding with that one. second try using clonedvd, it handles files that need to blanked (etc.) beteer than most. third update your firmware there seems to be something connected to hardware with this dvd

I thought I had this one resolved using anydvd and clonedvd.

I just ran out of DVDs and bought Memorex DVD +R's before working with Santa Clause, Die Hard and Hairspray.

On Hairspray, on my home DVD it plays fine. On my laptop, it starts to skip / stutter very soon after starting.

On my in-laws newer DVD player it starts stuttering when the mom tells the camera man there's not that many stations in baltimore.

And several tries with Clone DVD wound up with bad media messages. I've made about 5 - 10 bad disks, what with the problems copying hairspray at all and then with clone DVD not liking the DVDs. I have wound up using a DVD-RW with clone DVD then nero to copy to the memorex?

Does memorex suck? I didn't keep track of how many failures were because of the copy protection vs. other issues, but having more problems with my backups this week (using memorex) than any other week.

Guess I have to buy a different brand and see.

Yep I would go with the discs on this one too. Dump the Memorex and get some Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell.

I'd also make sure your firmware is up to date on the burner and burn at 1/2 the rated speed of the disc.

ok a couple tips the memorex DVD+R probably code out as Ritek which is ok media(run them though DVD Identfier to see). do what Karen said plus try booktyping the DVD+R to DVD-ROM form better playback compatibility or use the DVD dash R format and the biggie is to burn at a slower rate like 4x or 6x

I had the same problems you are describing (using TDK media) for skipping and refusing to playback properly on some players while playing fine on others. The solution is simple. Change media to a more consistent brand and make sure you take all precautions when burning. Do not use up system resources while multi-tasking.

here is a thread discusssing that and solutions: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/420832

also make sure you never use those paper disc labels on dvd's, they will cause you heartache and grief.

well damn....

I can get the DVD shrunk, as an iso, but burning is not going well, wasted 4-5 tdk dvd+r, and im now going to try with the sonys i love so much......

I am getting really tired of this.

BTW-nero gave me an error, and i hope to god it's not my new burner, it said: "error calibrating power" or something like that.

anyone heard of that before?

(EDIT)The Sony Works! What a surprise! I always knew i liked the sony brand better.(EDIT)
