what i meant to say:
when running DVDFAB using the methods that failed (mentioned in first post...) My DVDFab would just shutdown, no error, no alert, nothing... one minute dvdfab was running and then the next minute dvdfab was no longer running / visible
**** from ISO I used Nero to burn to disk *****
I highly recommend have DVDFab HD Decrypter ripped as VIDEO_TS (.IFO and .VOB file) because you have more control over an ISO file. You can edit, cut, strip, delete, blank, etc., to name a few: VobBlanker, FixVTS, PgcEdit, IFOEdit, when ripping as VIDEO_TS.
However, the choice is yours.

Quote: Hello guys, I just joined & decided to chime in here because the Wall-E DVD was really burning my bum since last night!
I tried & failed with DVDfabHD Decrypter 4.x.x.x...For those who don't care for the menu & will settle for "movie only" (which I will settle for since its for my kids to take in the car whenever we go on trips, etc), and are using the latest HDFAB Decrypter...choose Title/Angle 30...I found this out by simply playing it on my set top DVD player & pressing Display/Info (player's button may vary). All the other "fake" titles (the ones with the chapters all out of sync) are inaccessible when trying to change over to them ont he set top player.
Sorry if it seems pretty "n00b" of me for my first post, but for me, it worked like a charm after a headache trying to back this up since yesterday using versions 3, 4 & 5 of DVDFABHD Decryp & several other programs with NO success.
Next time have DVDFab HD Decrypter ripped as VIDEO_TS (I highly recommend), then have either VobBlanker or FixVTS to process the already ripped file before continue with any of your desire "transcoder or encoder" engines.

4) ripit4me 1710( says file size is 65 Gb, too large to back up, and backed up 65 GB on my HDD)

6) No, I do not have dvdxcopy any longer
What works partially (ripped full disc with non functioning menu, just got a list of files)
1) Anydvd 6483 beta
What worked !! (Success !!!)
dvdfabHD 4120 ( yep, the oldie but goody), full disc and functioning menu !
No I did not do movie only, as I always do full disc, and get menu plus movie via vob blanker
I have the 1 disc dvd in the new chinzy paper box !
I used AnyDVD 6.4.8.5 and CloneDVD 2.9.2.0. Worked just fine for me.

Putana - Hi and welcome. There's nothing noob about your post (not that there's anything wrong with noobs, we are all noobs at something or other). I'm a movie only man myself, and Wall-E isn't out 'til Monday here in the UK but this movie is definitely one going in the car's dvd case.

I used dvdfab 4120 for the main movie option. It saved multiple files i.e. VTS_01_1 etc. What do I with those files now? I've only used DVD43-DVDShrink-DVD decrypter in the past. They are idiot proof so I've been ok but I can't seem to do anything with these files now. Also, it only allowed me to use the DVD9 option. Is that ok? Thanks for any and all help!

If you want my opinion, rid yourself of DVD43. It's junk.

Once the files are ripped to your HDD, just use Shrink as per normal. Although, i would incorporate FixVts to clean the ripped files first. And Imgburn instead of Dvd Decrypter to burn.

Which version of AnyDVD and CloneDVD are you using, the latest versions of both solved the movie no problem. You should be using 6.4.8.5 on AnyDVD and 2.9.2.0 on CloneDVD. They will do the whole disk easilly.

These are the days of "We need more information"!!! It is important to include (if your using Windows) - Is it Vista or are you still using XP - and which version of Nero are you using? With XP as I see it you should be OK with what your using - according to most success remarks in this thread. With Vista and Nero 8, it is time to go back to school.
I just built a new Vista Ultimate system - Nice box, but I do all my movie backups with my trusty XP with Nero 7 and DVD Shrink. Since this is a DVD Shrink Thread - my thought is - Vista users need outside help. I am no expert, but I think I know what I'm doing and I'm not sure if we have an Image Burn/Vista thread.

Hello there buddy, good to see you too, sure has been long time. I see your still doing a wonderful job here monitoring AD.
Yep, that's exactly what I do too. I'm all about VIDEO_TS, that's why I'm a DVDFab HD Decrypter and VobBlanker method/person simply because I want to "delete/blank" out all useless craps/junks (FBI warnings, trailers, MPAA rating logo, useless extras, etc.) A lot of folks/noobs here think VobBlanker is complicated because of it looks complex, but in reality it's super super easy (1,2,3 click button), plus it's 3 - 5 minutes process only.
@those that needed helps,
Just ask my buddy creaky for anything (ripping, burning/backup DVDs) and he'll help you out, simple as that, he'll even direct you to the right direction.

Your burner's firmware may not be uptodate for the media you are using.
here is a way to check if CloneDVD is working properly.
Instead of trying to burn to a disk directly, save your movie to the hard drive instead, select UDF/ISO image instead, like here.
then burn using cloneDVD2 by clicking on the write existing data tab, and selecting your saved file.
Then select your file, then burn to a DVD disk.
Let me know if this helps, if not we can figure out the problem.

ImgBurn ..... one of the BEST Burning tools on the planet, without being a resource hog ..... I use it to create/burn my iso's, movies, apps, games, etc. Great for creating Dual Layer iso's (WALL*E). I DVD Shrink most (95%), but the BEST movies that are 7+ Gb, I use Verb DL's
As for VOBB another good tool, but "PgcEdit" matched with FixVTS is the BEST !!!
Did everyone see where I mentioned in one of the previous posts that the Main Menu has a BUG. Select the "SetUp" button on the "Main Menu" where does it take you ..... nowhere .... at least thats what I see on my Region 1 "Original Disk".
I corrected this issue on my backup copy with "PgcEdit" ..... GREAT TOOL !!!!
Cheers to All !

Not many people use PgcEdit. They just want to copy and burn without ever checking the structure of the ripped files. I always do. There have been very few that do not have errors in them.
Glad to see someone else takes time to have the cleanest backups possible.

I use it on EVERY disk I make a backup of. Whats really great is the features r0lZ added about a year or two ago for stripping out "Uncalled PGC's", "PGC Jumps to nowhere" and removing "Uncalled VTS". Does a VERY NICE job of cleaning the DVD structure. Then run FixVTS last.
For those who have never tried PgcEdit heres a GREAT Starter GUIDE for doing "First Play" (jump to the movie upon DVD insertion) by Blutach ... CLICK HERE. This will at least show how you jump through the DVD structure when clicking "->> Next PB".
Cheers !!
