Actually that's a good point, i'd overlooked that. I personally never bother with autoburning in any program, not least because if something's not ripped correctly you just end up with crap burned onto a (wasted) disc.

I agree, I never autoburn either. Occasionally, I get a little carried away with my editing and something is not quiet right. Would be shame to waste a perfectly good TY for no reason.

Okay, so let me try this from the beginning. I'll write down what I'm doing in real time step by step, so nothing gets lost in translation.
So I start with DVDFab HD Decrypter 5.1.1.0. Pop in Wall E and it opens it automatically.
So now I've got my file which looks like this:
So now I open up VobBlanker 2.1.3.0 and import the IFO from VIDEO_TS folder via "Input Video Manager (VIDEO_TS.IFO)", as per alkohol's instructions. It tells me "There are at least one multiangle (UNSUPPORTED} Cell. The VTSs containing these cells have been marked as SKIP."
Umm... Okay, moving on...
So I process all that stuff to a different folder and the end of the log reads 'no errors'. Thank God.
So now, if I'm not mistaken, it's time to open up DVD Shrink 3.2 and use it to open the new files from VobBlank.
Uh oh.
What went wrong?

VobBlanker doesn't handle multiangle.
What OS are you using?
Did you try ripping with DVDFab and shrinking with DVD Shrink to a new folder?
Have you tried movie only?

My mistake. I thought you knew how to use DVD Shrink. My advice would be to read the guides available here on how to use DVD Shrink before going any further.

I've tested "WALL-E", (ripped with DVDFab HD Decrypter 5.1.1.8) and process with VobBlanker. Both Nero Recode 3 and DVD Shrink open the file from VobBlanker flawlessly. There are a lot of bad cells and yes.. I have VobBlanker deleted and blank them all. However, it should be ok just to process the IFO via VIDEO_TS.
First of all you didn't pay real close attention to my post. I said; "The latest beta of DVDFab HD Decrypter should be able to rip this (depends on what disc/dvd type). However, it has a lot of corrupted cells. So try the following:" And I gave you the steps.
Quote: So I start with DVDFab HD Decrypter 5.1.1.0. Pop in Wall E and it opens it automatically.
Your version is 5.1.1.0. The latest DVDFab HD Decrypter is 5.1.1.8
Maybe next time I should put on a guide for newbies, LOL... no hard feeling.

And presto.... burn WALL-E with your desire burning engine Nero Burning Rom/Express or ImgBurn.

Sorry to interrupt an obvious FAB solution you guys are working on, but...dvd shrink and anydvd did a VERY good job with my backup. I just thought I would give my 2cents. I only gave up unwanted/unneccessary audio tracks, near max compression on extras (Still looked good), and ONLY used dvdshrink/anydvd. I have a 50" plasma that boasts a VERY sharp picture. My compression for main title was 70% and looked stunning. Helps when the source video can afford it. The only bug in the whole shabang was the "setup" in the main menu. It wouldnt do anything. I could care less about that. Ordinarily I use rebuilder, but im running into bugs and not confident enough yet to trust it.
To delete, or not to delete. THAT is the question!

My backup is perfect, no bug in setup menu. I'm happy with Nero Recode 3 to do the job of only 12.5% compressions needed, with quality of 87.5% "Advanced Analysis + High Quality Mode + Assign Best Quality to Main Movie" is good to me.
Good luck to all.

Didnt want the extras huh? I found alot of the extras funny/cute/interesting. Plus I like running comparisons. At 70% my settings were almost indistinguishable from the original. I swear, DVD SHRINK was WAY ahead of its time. Cudos to the programmer, whome I hear went to work for nero some time ago. mmmm.... I just looked at nero recode recently. Looked rather similar to shrink if you ask me. Lol, Go figure. :D

oh... I forgot. To those interested, total process time for shrink was only 30 min + 4 min deep analysis. The rip with anydvd ripper only took like 7 or so. :D

imgburn I have not had ANY problems. Nero has caused complications in the past. To date... Imgburn is the most revered. I strongly recommend IMGBURN. But it all boils down to what you wanna do. Nero can burn to SIMULTANEOUS multiple burners. :D

FYI,
IMGBurn is the offspring of DVDDecrypter minus the DVD ripping ability with added burning features. IMGBurn and decrypter both are written by LightningUK, IMGBurn was released after SOme compaNY made him take DVDDecrypter down.

It's not just the backup, my original has the bug as well.
Are you Region 1 alkohol ? I live in US and my original has the bug, press "Set-Up" and it cycles back to "Main Menu".
So if you don't have the bug and you are in R1, then there must be two different R1 prints out there.
The only other person to mention the bug was omegaman7, was hoping to hear more from a few others.

I figured as such. Seems when you purchase the multi-disk versions (which usually contain a digital copy) they have less encryption than the single disk versions.
I've seen this over and over.....so, I tend to purchase the multi-disk versions and have had a very easy time backing them up.

I'm in the US (Region 1) and no bug on my backup. (1) I can easily access "set up" and set the audio to "Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround EX" or "Dolby Digital 2.0", and (2) set the "Subtitles" to "English" and play/return to film without any issue.
NOTE: that I didn't keep DD 2.0, have Recode 3 took it out before its transcoded.
