No I actually didn't do anything wrong at all buddy.
But out of coincidence my PC is as I am told by some people that actually helped "to new".
My PC has all SATA connections with one IDE connection that is not used. My CD-ROM is to new and that s what the problem was. I had to disconnect the CD-ROM and use some ancient POS just like the "software" to get it to work.
If the software don't get updated soon no offense but it will become bullshit!
More and more PC's are built with SATA and even with a adapter for the HDD to run from UATA to a SATA the software still wont work. Before you know it no pc's will have a IDE connection even like the one I have that was hidden from site!
I also didnt blame anyone or aything but the software so dont go trying to stir somethings up with people whos help and creations I do appreciate regardless.

nope everything is inorder you probably did some mistake along the way, dont blame the firmware/software the creator(s) of the tut and firmware/software worked hard to minimize error!
am sure if you look back you'll see what you did wrong;)

Agreed! Most problems can usually be traced back to impatience or errors on the user end. I suggest trying again and making sure you have ALL the needed files on your C partition, burn at a slower speed, etc.

I love how people cant simply read! I have solved the problem! The software is not compatible with newer CD-ROMS and other devices on a some newer PC's and this I got from many people on xboxscene.com! I did everything I could possible THE RIGHT WAY!
Like I said it needs to be updated to keep up with current PC's! ( if possible )
Even with the SATA to UATA adapters it did not work! But it worked fine on a old out dated CD-ROM! <---- THIS MEANS SINCE I DID IT ALL THE SAME WAY AS BEFORE I WASN'T DOING ANYTHING THE WRONG WAY !!GET IT!! Even when I placed my new CD-ROM on my IDE VIA the adapter the way I should have ( HDD on MASTER, SATA CD-ROM on SLAVE VIA ADAPTER ) it did not work!!!!!!!!!!
Please read my posts over and think of what I am saying!

As evidenced by the error message you received, this drive does not support locking, therefore the xbox will not boot if you use this drive. Try another drive, you can re-use the XboxHDM disc you already made.

So I have a problem.
I have a softmodded Xbox, and I want to upgrade to a Western Digital WD800JB hard drive.
I followed this guide exactly, and I was able to lock the hard drive, but when I put it in the Xbox I get Error Code 06.
Any ideas?
The only thing I can think of it that the hard drive I'm using isn't new, so maybe I should try another one?

Also, ConfigMagic says that my unique HDD key is "0000000000..." is that odd?

kC___88, sounds like you have to restore the mod or remodd your xbox with your new HD install. If and when, you want xbmc as your default dashboard, do this.
1.download the latest xbmc from your favorite torrnet site.
2. Unrar it to a folder on your desktop or where you can find it.
3. Open the folder and copy everything file by file, folder by folder to e: folder on your xbox except the default.xbe file.
Now
Save the file that ends with .xbe to any where on your computer for just in case purposes. Now whatever the name of your .xbe file is, mine was evoxinf.xbe so yours might be unleash.xbe. Rename the default.xbe in your xbmc folder to whatever the name of your .xbe file is and copy or overwrite it to e: folder on your xbox. Agian in my case it was call evoxinf.xbe. Look for a single file ended with .xbe

i have a softmodded xbox and i have a western digital 111GB(what my computer says on it) external hard drive, and i do have ftp access. i got the xboxhdm thing from xbins, i put the eeprom.bin from e\eeprom_backup\eeprom.bin and the entire e/ and c/ thing on the linux folder, made the iso, and ran it. then I press 1, type xboxhdm, and it tells me its going to erase all files on this ahrd drive, but it only gives my a number. so i stop it, ctrl+alt+delete, reboot, and try to find out which drive has that number. i believe i found it to be the C drive. i have no total clue how to disconnect the C drive, and i sure don't want to erase it all.how do i disconnect all the drives except for western digital?

ok, seems your trying to do this h/d to h/d I do this via a DVD drive (on drive letter D) and the drive I wish to use on C, if memory servers me right, the tool your using only does C so you can not use C for a h/d to make a xbox drive on D, I use the following IDE setup
IDE0-0=c:
IDE0-1=nothing (no drive)
IDE1-0=D (DVD drive or CD drive)
IDE1-1=nothing (no drive)
the above has served me well ^_^ see if it helps you out

oh, in that case do the following
remove the power cable from your pc
locate the screws at the back and remove them
slide case of pc open
remove the IDE cable from your C drive
remove the power connector from you C drive
connect your hard drive you are going to build making sure it's little plastic jumper is in the position to set it as master
connect the power connector to your hard drive
(if you still get the "no hard drive connected" error then plug the IDE cable in after the menu has loaded from the hard drive software - it should pick it up then)
replace the power cable
boot pc and insert the disk with the xbox hard drive building software on it
follow on instructions that you should have to make the hard drive
when done, pull power cable out and re-connect your old drive and your done =)
