hey greatbong one thing i noticed is you are using both port triggering and port forwarding. I do not believe you need to use port triggering to get hight id. i'm only using port forwarding.

if you are still having problems using the default emule ports i would use ports 4660 tcp and 4670 udp under port forwarding. these ports give me highid.

i know darkflux said to try the instructions i provided. did that help?

Here's a repost for those who want to try this.

I recommend trying these instructions exaclty as they are. If you have already made changes i recommend setting everything you changed back to default before you begin.

justawr here is my suggestion. try these instructions. follow them exactly no matter what. i've never had good luck with emule default ports. i changed the TCP/UDP ports and have success ever since. here are step-by-step instructions i've come up with that works for me everytime and others as well. i would try at least on a computer withouth wireless for now.

Here are the instructions
NOTE: If you are NOT using a router this may not work. I recommend using a router if nothing else as an extra layer of firewall protection.

this might actually work only if your ISP is truly not P2P blocking.

In order for this to work you need to do every step.
This is a lengthy process. You may want to PRINT THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
1. Open emule and click the Options button on the Toolbar.
2. Click Connection
3. Change the TCP default Port to 4660.
4. Change the UDP default Port to 4670.
5. Click Apply.
6. Click the Test Ports Button. A window will open and display both ports tested successfully. But, if they don?t work it may only be because you have not fully configured everything yet.
7. Click the button that says Open these ports on internal WinXP firewall. Wait for the confirmation window that will pop up and then click OK.
8. Click OK at the bottom.
9. Close eMule.

This step adds Networking Services to WinXP.
1. Go to the Control Panel
2. Click on Add/Remove Programs
3. Click Add/Remove Windows Components
4. Scroll down and click on Networking Services
5. Click the Details button
6. Check the box for: Internet Gateway Device Discovery and Control Client (this option may already be checked).
7. Check the box for: UPnP User Interface
8. Click OK then click Next***Note***You may be required to provide your Windows XP CD.
9. Click Finish.
10. Close the Add/Remove and Control Panel Windows.

If you are running Windows XP SP2 you need to do the following. If you are not running SP2 then you can skip this next step.
1. Go to the Control Panel
2. Click Windows firewall
3. Click the Exceptions tab
4. Click the Add Programs button, Scroll down and select Emule. ***If emule is not listed then browse to: C:\Program Files\emule\emule.exe and select emule.exe.
5. Click OK
6. Click Add Port. For the name put Emule TCP and enter the Port 4660. Make sure TCP is selected.
7. Click Add Port. For the name put Emule UDP and enter the Port 4670. Make sure UDP is selected.
8. Now click on the Advanced Tab (next to the Exceptions tab).
9. Under the section: Network Connection Settings, Click the Settings button.
10. Check the list to see if you have two entries for eMule TCP and/or UDP if they are not listed then proceed to step 11. Remember, only do this step if neither TCP or UDP entries are in the list. If there are two entries in the list click the TCP option and edit it. Enter either the name or the IP Address of your computer. (If you are using more than one computer on your router you may want to use the name of your computer because your IP Addresses could change between other PC?s on your network during reboots).
For the TCP option make sure Port 4660 is entered for both internal and external.
Now Click the UDP option and edit it. Enter the same info you entered for your TCP (computer name or IP Address) and ensure Port 4670 is entered for both internal and external. Skip to step 20.
Start here only if the two emule ports are not in the list.
11. Click the Add button (only do this step if there are no TCP or UDP entries in the list).
12. In the Description of Service enter: emule TCP Ports
13. On the next line enter either the name of your computer or your IP Address (If you are using more than one computer on your router you may want to use the name of your computer because your IP Addresses could change between the other PC?s on your network during reboots).
14. For both Ports (internal and external) entries use 4660, make sure TCP is selected
15. Click OK
16. Click the Add button again
17. In the Description of Service enter: emule UDP Ports
18. On the next line enter either the name of your computer or your IP Address
19. For both Ports (internal and external) entries use 4670, make sure UDP is selected
20. Click the OK buttons to exit out
21. Close out of the Control Panel

This step is only if you are using a Router of somekind.
I have successfulley tested this using Linksys routers. I have not tried this on any other brand router. If you are using a router, other than a Linksys router, I recommend you do this next step anyway. Most routers are similiar in Port Forwarding.
1. Go to a command prompt and type: IPCONFIG write down or note your IP Address.
2. Login to your router
3. If Linksys click on the Advanced tab
4. Next click on the Forwarding tab
5. Enter the following settings:
TCP 4660 To 4660 TCP 192.168.1.XXX (your IP Address) Enable(checkbox)
UDP 4670 To 4670 UDP 192.168.1.XXX (your IP Address) Enable(checkbox)
If you have more than one computer on your network you can repeat step 5 and enter a second IP address. Here is an example how your router could look if you have more than on computer on your router. This way if your computer?s IP Address changed from .100 to .101 on the next reboot it would not matter because you have both IP's configured in the router.
TCP 4660 TO 4660 TCP 192.168.1.100
UDP 4670 TO 4670 UDP 192.168.1.100
TCP 4660 TO 4660 TCP 192.168.1.101
UDP 4670 TO 4670 TCP 192.168.1.101
6. Click the Apply button
7. Logout of your router.

After this is complete Windows XP should automatically install a network Gateway in your Network Connections configuration.REBOOT your computer. A reboot usually is required to start the Network Connections configuration
.

That?s It your done. I recommend you reboot especially if you still are getting a LOWID.
Open emule and see if you can connect at HighID.
If you still do not connect it may be because you are using a different router. Remember, I?m using a Linksys router but, again, the settings are basically the same.

If after the reboot and still a LOWID i suggest going back through the instructions to ensure you didn't miss or enter something incorrectly such as a typo in the Port settings.

If you are still not able to connect with HIGH ID then i would say your ISP is blocking or something with them is a hinderance.

Despite what others say regarding my fix, remember, not all systems are the same. You have to find what works for your system. It works for me and for other?s I?ve helped.
Sorry, if this was not a help.

thanx punisher, it's probably a good idea if you can post that walkthrough every few pages, as it seems most "forum browsers" usually either read the first or last few pages. besides that, it's more useful (not to mention easier) to start with the walkthrough, and go from there.
cheers :)

..mind you, that i am at the edge of the world, and still able to do a 24/24 service and still don't get hi-ID is a touch pissy...

Hi! New user, asking for help...

First of all, awesome thread! Lots of info and lots of troubleshooting ideas and configuration details I had never tried... Learned already a lot from reading 33 pages of info! :D Thanks to ALL the people that come here to help desperate "emulers"!

Despite all the information read and provided by this thread, I still cant connect to Emule with HighID...Situation:

Im living in a rented flat in spain for a few months; until last week, I "stole" internet from a neighbour wifi-signal...he doesnt have a password, so I can do everything...entered his router configuration, forwarded emule tcp and udp ports to my laptops IP address, etc. With the neighbours connection, no problems! Had HighID, downloaded very nicely! :D

Despite that, and since I dont consider myself a burglar, I had already signed contract with a spanish ISP to have my OWN connection, and the router and user/pw details arrived yesterday (2 months after signing contract!).

So, I installed router, forwarded the ports on my new router, and...using the same laptop, exactly the same configurations, emule gives me LOW ID! Same laptop, same configurations (didnt change anything), and with my neighbours wifi (his ISP - name: "Y") I get HighID, but with my wifi (my ISP - name: "T"), always LowID!

Luckily, my laptop always got (so far) the same IP from both routers (mine and my neighbours) - xxx.xxx.1.33, so, thats the IP I forwarded on both routers...so...

...with ISP Y I get highi! 5 seconds later, I change wifi signal to my ISP (T), and get lowid!

System: Windows XP SP2
Firewalls: Windows - desactivated; Kaspersky - configured properly (allow emule tcp and udp ports). No other firewall software installed! (never liked ZoneAlarm)
Router: X7868r (Xavi Technologies Corporation - Thailand company - never had even heard of it...)

Followed through carefully and revised twice the guide that punisher1's so kindly exposed on page 28 of this thread (and repeated on other pages on this thread) - thanks punisher1!, and still, nothing...neighbours wifi - HighID, my wifi - LowId (it doesnt even connect...using eMule Plus v0.47c [MorphXT v9.2] -the emule server just replies: Warning XXXXXServer No1 (XXX.XX.XXX.XX) - Your 4660 port is not reachable. Please review your network config).

So...is it just me, or my stupid (and expensive) ISP its filtering connections and blocking emule connections?

Any ideas/tips/help will be most appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

hey Urhilf this wouldn't be the first time we've heard where ISP's are the core of lowid problems. Yes, some ISP's are blocking or atleast throttling down ports to P2P's.

You can try contacting your ISP and see what they have to say. However, customer service (non-technical) might not have a clue as to what what you are talking about. You might need to try and get escalated to tech support for a more definitive answer.

the info you provided was really good and that leads me to believe, unfortunately, your ISP might be the root of your problem. However, do you know who your neighbor's free (to you) ISP is? is it the same as your's? If so then your new router Xavi Technologies Router will most likely be the problem. if you are unsure and you know the nieghbor i would play dumb tell him you are looking for an ISP and ask if he has ISP and who with.

can you buy the same or near the same router has the neighbors'? you can find out what make and model by logging in since you know the user name and password.

i know i haven't given you a miracle answer but there's not much i can say that you haven't already done.

let us know...

man, punisher, you are ON THE BALL! i was just about to say the EXACT SAME THING(s), when i noticed your message pop up :D

another thing, you might try, although this is a LONG shot, but can you try a "wired" connection to YOUR router, instead of wireless. this is sledom the problem, but it couldn't hurt to try.

like punisher1 said, your BEST bet would be to get the same router your neighbor has (provided it's an ADSL, like yours is), and if it's STILL lowid, then you KNOW it's your ISP limiting. i've never heard of Xavi before either, but it's Taiwan, not Thailand [not that it matters either way ;) ]. just let us know if you have any further questions :)

Yeah I know...I wanted to avoid talking with them...due to language barriers (Im portuguese, I can speak spanish, but as soon as they detect my portuguese accent they will completely change their attitud towards me)...

Yaps, different ISPs...Got that from the external IP that my neighbour's router gets when connected to the internet... "whois"ed that IP - Ya.com (another spanish ISP); my ISP is Telefonica (the biggest spanish telecom...maybe thats why they are so conservative and are - most likely - blocking p2p and probably other http pages - hacker info, warez, porn, etc...).

His router is 3Com (dont know the model right now), but anyway I didnt want to invest right now in a new router (the one from Xavi was free -promotion from my ISP).

The info already provided until now was more than useful! For that and for your availabilty to help, I thank you a 1000 times! =)

Last details found: my ISP for default enables a filter called Canguro, that blocks specific http contents (on port 80) such as warez, porn, etc...

I didnt ask for it, but came with the package! Now the funny part: it's a PAID service! LOL! Im paying to suffer censurship! (I feel like Im in China - no offense to the Chinese people or chinese government). Already asked my ISPs commercial services to disable it (it will take 24hours). Hoping it will solve the lowid problem...

Dont know if the cause of the lowid was this filter (beacause in the service page it says its only a filter for http content), but I will find out in about than 24 hours...Will post news asap!

Thanks again punisher1! :)

Hmm...trying to save some ?uros...dont want to buy a new router right now...X-mas its right at the doorstep... :) Im really hoping it is a problem with the stupid Canguro filter, so, tomorrow, or maybe in a few more days, Ill have some more information about it!

..just a word about ISPs, there are only a few major players, the rest rent space from one of them, don't they Smartbro, Philipinas, 100 mb my arse and to manage their load so they can oversell their service and make profit, they use traffic management systems, these will react with emule and can cause lowID probs..

..solution ..change servers, or hope that the bright little f*ks that do the programing get it wrong, or get serious illnesses or their brains explode..

..and as if by magic...

..Dec 22 my connection goes down, and finally comes back on the 28th, but i now appear to have a max dl+ul of 70kB..it was 86 to 90

..ul 44, dl 26, drop the ul to 20 odd and the dl goes up to 70 minus the ul, smooth motion, like a seesaw on sealed bearings, i shall continue to 'experiment..

..all that and not a word about single-digit manual gestures, or cheating, contract breaking ISPs, gosh, Smartbro, Philippinesi must be mellowing with age.....

.or just waiting for January and my 12 month renewal...

did you use the same config settings as with eMule (i.e., ports, etc.)? if so, be certain not to run the two "mules" at the same time. they might conflict. other than that, don't know much about eMule Plus, myself. perhaps one of the other members here could shed some light...

oh, and justawr, sounds like Santa figured out you were a bad boy, and instead of coal, decided to screw with your beloved source of joy ;) ah, the magic of Christmas! but seriously, sorry for your luck, dude. better luck next year...

Do you have a Westell 6100?

Do you get lowid in emule?

You should know that the Westell 6100 is a combination router/modem. For help, go here: http://portforward.com/english/routers/p...l6100/eMule.htm

I was highid after a few minutes' tweaking as instructed.

Bonne chance!

..a posible source of poor ul/dl speeds may be the machinery provided by your ISP..

..mine changed my wifi Farsee for a Motorola Canopy doofit, and my speeds dropped to 25/25, however, the nice techie that changed the bits, following a superbly executed smoke-screen chatty attack forgot to wipe the entrance codes to the beast..biggg grin

..altho the Canopy can do 2Mb, the cheap buggers at Smartbro, Philsonly bought the 1Mb system, ok, so i was able to up my ul/dl back to 50/50 , ie 1Mb and change the password... but without contacting Motorola i can't get it to do it's max 2Mb..

..i'm wondering about asking Motorola nicely, and maybe even pay the upgrade, but maybe i should just get my own hi-speed wifi receiver..

..suggestions ?

..oh, the moral of the tale ?..if the ISP provides any of the machinery, it may already have a governor installed, be extra nice to the techie-installer, he may help..

yeah, i have one o' them Canopy "radios", myself, although the Rx/Tx antenna is different from those on this site's main page.

not sure what you meant by "governors" (must be "Brit" slang or something), but to tell you the truth, (being as modest as i can here) i actually knew more about the setup process, etc. than the guys setting it up! also, anytime i need to call the Techies, THEY don't seem to be able to understand what i'm saying unless i "dumb it down" abit... hmm, maybe i should just go work there, and solve all my problems myself, lol ;)

oh, also, i'm not so sure you even CAN upgrade by calling Moto yourself. from what i've seen, they seem to be a "subletter" of WiFi HiSpeed, selling "offshoots" of their service thru "licensed resellers"... so maybe you should just bedcome one of them YOURSELF (if you can afford it, i know i couldn't), and then resell the service to people in your area ;) just a thought.

..a "governor" is an upper speed-limit controller, sometimes used on say company vehicles to stop the engine going faster than a specified amount but can be used on fly-wheels and like to control/cap max revs or to release pressure at a set point on steam engines (the little spinning doofit with the balls on)..

..in this case it's a preset max ul/dl limit. Yah, i thought the preseller thing was the case but the info seems to make me the registered owner or maybe it's just user ? of the radio. i seem to have access to "root" as well as "admin", what's that ?

..if i can't upgrade and that's only to 2Mb maybe it'l be best to plumb in my own machinery, something with a bit of suck, say 10Mb...
