That's what i would like to know also, cos if it is the case people can just rebuild the DVD 9 as a 2 disc rip.

ive just done it and its working fine!!! had to start from the begining and seems fine
also im iso is 4.09 gigs

But wouldn't you be missing the Audio from the start since you would of rip the audio from the first layer?.
Or are you saying that the is no need for 2 discs that by ripping Data 0_1 and 1_1 still leaves the full game intact with audio, voices, etc from start to finish?.

For the second or third time....I DONT KNOW WHAT IS IN THOSE .DATS! Could be music, could be dummy data. Music was playing fine for the 5 mins i played.....but since i didnt look inside those .dats my guess is just as good as yours to what is inside them. Also, the two .dats i dummied were from the layer1, not layer0....

booboo man you said that you played the game again so from chpt 1 to chpat 8 is it working, cause the probelem was not having the first layer on the disc..... if it does work care to tell us how you did it or even upload it...

1.Get apache 3, cd dvdgen and iml2iso
1. First make a new folder on your desktop. Open up apache 3, then open the DVD9. Go to the upper right, then hit extract all. Save these files to the folder you just made.
2. Open notepad, PUSH ENTER ONCE then go to save as. Save as DATA1_0.DAT After this, go to save as again, and save as DATA1_1.DAT
3. Now put these two dummy files in the folder with all the extracted files. Of course, push yes when asked to overwrite.
4.Open cd dvd gen, and put the files in this order
Then go to the volume tab. Enter SCUS-97490 and under prodcued name, enter PLAYSTATION. Choose America for the License area. With this done, go to file-export iml file, and save the iml file to the folder where all your extracted files are. Done with this app
5.Open iml2iso, and go "open", and choose the iml file you just made. Now the iml2iso button will be lit up, hit it and a new DVD5 will be created.
6.Burn your iso, have fun....FINALLY!!!
booboo said he is up to chapter 10, so i think it is fine.
If anyone runs into some ass named Indie, please tell him he is well...an ass!!!!

Wow chapter 10 that's great :) .
And great guide Svstang that should help alot of people do this.
Anyway booboo, have you played the game from Chapter 1 to Chapter 10?
Or did you load the save file from chapter 7?, i know you said you had to start again but myabe you might of got a save of someone or something.
If you have played from Chapter 1 to 10, has everything seemed perfect?, such as all sounds, movies etc?.
Or does it seem like movies or sounds are missing in some spots?.
Anyway write back to let us all know :).
I can't wait 2 more days and i'll have this game :) .
Oh one more thank Thanks once again Svstang it seems like you might of found out how to make a perfect rip of this game :) .

svtstang hi i try to use apache3 but i get some error stating i need somefile called starburn.dll or something cant read that great from my tv the screen blew on me.. and i where wondering if there is any way to get apache3 running for me pleae help

btw if you check with isobuster with find missing files and folders you will find some wav files and a DL.exe file :)

I didnt use isobuster, i just used it to make a screencap up the file structure. Apache is much much much better.

Not for being negative,but I have a bad feeling about this....I mean there must be something of importance in those files.Some people are saying the DVD9 with the dvdloader trick with swap magic,as for myseld until this is proved to work 100% ill be playing with my swapmagic and hdloader unsing hdd(at last comes in handy my ffXI online hdd) lol,BTW great find svtstang you sure worked hard for this and its working,hope its a permanent fix :D Thank You from us all the magic users.

Yeah I said from day one i didnt know what is in thoe .dat's, but booboo said he reached chapter 10 with no issues. I dont have a legit DVD9 game, and am not going to buy one just to play this game...especially since i dont believe people that say they got it working with the swap method.....worst comes to worst, you wasted a dvd. I tried though :/

ok you guys.. a bit off the subject here, but...
i backed up a game along time ago, and gave the original to a friend.
the game is SHADOW HEARTS COVENANT.
i had the iso's backed up on my Hard Drive. I finally got around to
burning it, and only disc one will load.
maybe the file is bad? so i'm trying to use a bit torrentto download it.. but all the sources either have PAL (i need NTSC), or the file is broken up into parts..
i'm a little familiar with making alot of files combine into one, but have never done it.
any one know how it is done? or have a idea where i could get a program to do it?

please take a screencap of the files you have...whether it is in rar form or using isobuster/apache
EDIT
3.57GB USA Shadow Hearts - Covenant (Disc 1)
4.06GB USA Shadow Hearts - Covenant (Disc 2)
Just burn each iso to a DVD5 and you are fine. If the files are rars, just right click the first rar and hit "extract here"
