Hello,got mu flip top today and its great the only thing i hated was having to deal with the ribbon cable.that was a pain trying to make sure it wouldn't get pinched and making sure that the tray opens.Also i must say better than slide card and easier.

i've installed a flip top on my v4 ps2, and when i go to load any cd's or dvd's in it, the ps2 either just makes a whirring noise with the disc, stopping and starting, or it just goes straight to the main ps2 screen with the option of "browser" or "system config". i have a bad feeling that perhaps the reset / eject cable got damaged putting the new top on, but then surely that just controls if the drive opens and the console turns on? which it is doing, besides this cable i cant think of anything else that could be causing a problem cos thats the only thing that has really been tampered with from the original setup.
any input would be great before i look into ordering a new reset / eject cable :/

Flip top and slide card owners, today is truely a day to remember. After being told over and over since September that it would happen "very soon", today is the day that it was FINALLY released! Swap Magic 3 USA / JAP is now available for purchase! I went to www.ps2cover.com to buy it, i'm not sure if any other company has it already. Looks like Christmas will be excellent after all!

MALO go to http://www.swapmagicfix.com and download the cdloader7_beta5.1 and burn it.When cdloader starts up you need to use the Swap Magic Cd to boot it up press X it should bring you to a sub menu just click on 5v3 no pin option and it should work.Gygaman I got my fliptop cover and swap magic discs from http://www.modchipinc.com shipped very quick also took only a week to get them.

Has anybody successes-fully backed-up SOCOM II? If yes, let me know what program to use and how to do it. I've already tryed: Nero 6, Alcohol 120% already, and I am "Un-able to Comply" (Terminator 3 script)
Thank's in Advanced;

I backed it up with RecordNow!Deluxe 6.5 on my first try really easy program to use and I consider it the best burned the game at 1X also.When it starts up it loads for a long time but that is how the original is also.If people are talking about slow loading for Socom 2 then it is not on how you burned the game that is just how the game is.Peace

Were did you get your smooth flip-top with no cheap looking Z on it
How did you place your ribbon cable?
Also do people with V7 have any problems with the flip top like people with V7 and mod chips do?

i got mines from two places.. gocybershop.ca or baysoftgames.com and then for the second i ordered i installed and gave my 2nd flip top for $40.. and i got the thing for $30 with the shipping.. and mine had no cables out cause its a V9 but i installed it on for a guy with a v7.. just get some tape and tape up the parts that u see will bend and carfully fold it along the side inside. and gently close.. it will work fine.. just don't pinch it.. but a slight bend won't hurt

Hey darthnip:
I have a SOCOM II back up but it looks kinda small. (I looked at under the burned DVD-CD and It looked only 1/2 full). How big is SOCOM II? Does it fill up your DVD+R? And how long does it really take to load, couse I tried for about 5 minutes and still didn't load?
