I just started to use emule, and compared to Kazaa lite, it is absolutely horrendous. Sure, you get a few dud files on kazaa, but at least you connect within 3 days! It is absurd that people continue to use this program. I mean what the hell. Maybe once u get up and started on emule its good, but i dont have the patience. Uploading to others is good and all, but not being able to download is frankly just gay.

Its clear to me that u have not got the foggest idea how to use emule. Emule ownz kazza. Kazza is just filled will virii, hope you have good av ;)

So what if you get a few damn viruses. Its bound to happen sooner or later. But at least with kazaa lite you can actually download shit in private without giving your figgin ip address.

I like eMule and have managed to get awsome download speeds just today after doing everything in the tutorial properly, and clicking release on my shared files- that was the killer!
People can get your IP address easy with Kazaa. Try out Norton Internet Security or Agnitum Outpost firewall, and you will notice that when someone is downloading off you, you can see traffic going out to that IP address. So if you were downloading off me, I could have your IP in a jiffy. Don't think you are safe. You want security? Try ES5 or route your traffic through a few anonymous proxies. Better yet get a NAT router and use a few software firewalls.

Frankly I never use antivirus software. It slows down your pc one hell of a lot, and besides most viruses nowadays aren't protected because new ones are being created on a daily basis. Your going to get one sooner or later whether you like it or not, so might as well get used to rebooting your system and reinstalling plenty of shit.

Well you just have it all figured out dont you? Well you do have a valid point.... antivirus DOES slow down your computer a lot if you have a PIO Mode 1 configuration.

yeah like the p2p crap doesn't slow your system down itself!! as far as i'm concerned, all p2p's are crap and totally worthless. IRC is where you want to be.

Yeah irc is ok cept for the fact that it is the easiest program to get viruses, but otherwise it is respectable in comparison to kazaa lite.

if you are getting viri from IRC, you're in the wrong channels. there is no comparison from IRC to kazaa. alot of people have the misconception that IRC is just a program like p2p, this is false, IRC goes way deeper than that, it was here long before the www, and will be here long after.

An interesting thought.... you dont have antivirus but somehow you know IRC is the easiest way to get viruses.... very intriguing indeed. Perhaps you should go back and play in the Kazaa Lite pen.

Go to www.sharereactor.com and spend at least 5 mintues there. Now tell me that eMule is crap. I used to think that as well, but actually it's my ISP's fault. My modem "levels" are messed, and someone is here to fix it tomorrow!!! WHOO HOO!!! 1MB + downloads!

Kazaa lite is still the way to go. Emule may work good for you guys over in the friggin UK, but for north americans it is shiat.

LOL I am from North America. I dont use emule exactly (im an overnet fan) but the donkey netwrok in general annihlates Kazzaa any day.

everybody you upload to or download from can get your ip address, use kazaa, then go to your command prompt anbd type netstat -a

In the last year or so, MsBlast and a few others are the ONLY possible viruses i could get because of the RPC vulnerability, so YOU better get used to downloading viruses from kazaa and re-installing all your shit!

amm location doesnt mean anything man, you could be at the north pole and it wouldnt make a difference as long as u have a good connection and go to http://emule-project.net and check out the amount of people from north america who worship eMule!

good point(s) bro, you know how i am, i just dont like the p2p's. I know alot of people do good with them and are quite satisfied. They just never tickled my fancy. so when i said "they're all crap", it was just my opinion. hell i haven't used enough of any p2p to give a real opinion on one :)

FrankTank, ok u keep downloading useless quality crap from a decentralised server and slag the donkey network which is NOT one server and because of that fact, won't be closed by law. Also to remember that servers like Razorback are doing everything to protect their users against enemies of p2p, and doing a very good job at it recently wheras kazaa is just crawling with every little bug known to man! Not to mention the kids who are paid to trade crap and trojan horse infected software. I respect your choice of p2p app, but dont diss others till you know what you're talking about ok? Oh and whats this awesome speed you think ive never beaten?

I know a lot of people who picked that up with eMule, see they learned how the network works like I did and where the actual files are coming from, when I did that, I knew what users to be nice to, now i'll be rewarded for a long time with high speed, but ye, nothing beats a high speed fserve, xdcc bot or ftp site! :-)
