I know you can't dump UMD's on a 2.6. So how do they rip games that need higher firmwares?

I've done everything as the tut said. And im not sure if my psp has just frozen or if its working. Is there anything to show that the umd is really dumping? about how long does this take? also, im VERY new to this. i just downgraded my psp yesterday. So my question maybe silly.
Does dumping allow me to play these games without the umd? so i can just save it to one of the folders i put in GAME right?

i tried the hodgins link as i live in UAE all uploading sites r blocked here like megaupload and rapidshare and also tried to download umddaxdumper frm psp-hacks its gud but usbhostfs i cannot find a gud 1 for windows i need a link of the whole stuff needed for the tutorial pls can someone give me link(s) to it pls i want to dump umd to my pc

What's up m8,i have a question:when i dump my gta copy via usb i get a iso around 1.1gb.But,if i dump trough fastloader(2 parts) i get a 830 mb iso.How can this be possible?

ive donr what you said in tutorial and copied a game now to my pc and i saved settings but when i try and do the same game again as i deleted it it wont do it again im using same settings usnhost top one and second is iso click start and it says am error message all the time what am i doing wrong
neo 2.2 ar2 v2 ask i might know

umm well im not 100% sure , as liong as youve got it working thats the main thing, well make sure youre trying to dump it as an iso

Your pc should then make a noise and detect the psp. And the following window should pop up (instead of saying multimedia audio controller it will say ?psp type b?)
Ok my puter did make a noise but no window pop up, what can I do to make the window show up? thanks.

so to dump your umds to the pc all you would have to do is place the files from usbhosts_psp in the daxdumper file with out the % and you would be away correct me if im wrong and dont get me rong im not trying to steep on ya toes dude like i said your tut helped me heeps just thort this mite be a good thing :)

Sorry I am still dont get part of it. Does this dump the umd to the PC or to the PSP memory stick? And how long does it take to dump a 1.8gb UMD?

It dumps the umd to your pc so if you have a small memory stick you can play them off your pc.And it would probly take 15 mins or so to dump mayb longer doubt it tho its very handy

Cool i got everything to work. Now i need to go get Dev Hook to play the game.
Just one more question. When i loaded up DAX on my psp it seems you cant exit it unless you actually dump a UMD. Is it possible to exit it before i push start to dump the umd?
