when i start dummping it nothing happens is that normal if not how do i fix it cuz i need to dump gta vcs

every time I go to make the psp type b thing in bin an error comes up when i try to save as psp.inf

I had that same error. I was trying to save just simply as psp b/c the file type was already .inf. Try saving as "psp.inf" instead of just "psp" if you haven't already. That worked for me! Also, if you haven't, I would recommend using the kit Hodgins uploaded. I couldn't get this stupid daxdumper to work for like 5 months. I just gave up on it after trying for so long. Then, I tried the kit Hodgins uploaded and it had a file in it I never even knew I needed. So, it has EVERYTHING and WILL WORK if you follow the directions precisely.

I have followed the guide but when I go to execute the program using my psp it tells me that the game file is corrupt. What am I doing wrong?

If you mess up I can help you uninstall the connection so it will allow you to start all over again from start.You have to get it connected though psp type b in order to uninstall it,should make a sound when it connects.Once you get it connected you can go into control panel and click on system and then look under hardware.In hardware it should have an option called device manager,click on it to get in there.Then just search for psp type b and click uninstall.Then turn off your computer and disconnect the usb transfer cable and start it back up,and follow the walkthrough again.Once you get to the part where it says plug in the usb transfer cable,it should say windows has found a new device(it should give you the chance to repeat this step as many times as you want).When I read through the guide there was no mention of this in there,but should give the chance to repeat the process as many times needed to get it to work on the same usb port you want to use.

@ kanthos if it says game data is corrupt it means you are not on 1.5 firmware
this tool is great when it gets going ask guano lol, but its one pain in the ass to get going.

yeah ,dumping is alot faster unless you have single links to the ISO on a upload site.
@hodgins , are you using fastloader or umdumper?
and what tool are you talking about, i may have it

ive never doen it before cuz i just download games but i might do it.... does it dump it to MS or pc? and will the dump be an iso or what?

It will dump the UMD to the iso folder in the usbhostfs_pc folder.It will dump it as a .ISO and you can select what compression level you would like to use(default is set at 9).The only program that lets you dump straight to your memory stick is fastloader.The daxumddumper is used to transfer your UMD through usb to pc,fastloader is used for dumping directly to your memory stick.If you want a full solution I would recommend both.

more trouble aagh...
My usb dump did not take after 3 hours.
Rebooted psp and gonna try again.
if there is a trouble shooting method for this please let me know.
I followed the guide to the letter.

i setup everything correctly, but it seems to not work at all. It just freezes after it says UMD dumping. no sectors or anything going through on the program. it says connected on the pc side though. I cant even dump to mem stick with it, i have to use .1 to do it. Now, i'm going to post this as people with my problem may be using my firmware as well. I first tried this homebrew out on 2.71 se-c and i was told on another forum that someone had success with version .2 on the new firmware release 3.02 OE, but i was not successful either. My guess is this might only be 1.5 compatable, even though those are supposed to run in kernel mode.

when i run daxdumper and it comes up new hardware found on pc, its only coming up as usb device not a psp.then when i run inf wizard it doesnt give me a psp b choice only 2 usb choices, tryed these but i cant install the driver for software.can any1 plz help

cool ive got drivers installed now, but when i run usbhostfs_pc.exe
it doesnt come up as connected, and then when i go to dump im getting
error writing file message reboot psp try again, same message. same on dif umds, hanging to dump sum games plz can u help

yep settings r the same as yours in tut, went thru it all again .i have no idea y this keeps happenin, havent had a psp long,i have a ta082 psp with firmware 3.02 oeb, dont no if that helps ya any, cheers m8
