@legend
Fastloader might take out dummy date because my original GTA ISO was 1.1 GB like you stated but when I ripped all the dummy data out it was also 830MB. Not sayin its for sure but its a possibility.

It kept making the usb connection noise but no window would show up, so I unplugged the usb cable and used another slot and I heard the noise and got the window Woot!. I followed the tut and dumped the game and got myumd and used WinRAR and got psp_game and umd_data. Now do I copy the psp_game and umd_data into ISO folder in ms:root? can I use devhook to run it?

Once you dumped the game you should have a file in the ISO folder you created. It should only be one file.

Then all you have to do is use DevHook to play it. Apparently Dev Hook could play any PSP iso game now.

Here is a guide to use dev hook. I rekon its the best one on afterdawn. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/374049

Ok All the best

I am having problems finding a driver for psp type b. I go to my folder where libusb-win32 file is and it is unable to locate a driver for it. Is there any other way to find the driver?

u have to change where u r dumping to. ON THE PSP SCREEN once u have opened the DAX dumper choose the option for

Dump to: Usbhostsf0/ISO
Format: ISO

Then try to dump the UMD by pressing Start.

Hope it helps! All the Best!

hmmmm i dont understand what u are doing wrong. I suggest u start all over and read the tute step by step. I got it going on my first go.

By the way do u have a psp 1.5?

You are not suppose to push select first.

omg... i have no idea...

Worst idea: reformat your computer?

Sorry Kyin01 i am really out of ideas. Maybe you want to try using Fastloader. That program can backup UMD games as well but it saves it directly into your psp.

hodgins91 where are you man?!?!?! This is your tute why dont u help this guy out? lol Cause i am out of ideas!

Well hope you work out how to fix your problem

omg i feel like an idiot i found out my problem when i was trying this thing out again

on the 2nd time throught i noticed you have to make an ISO folder INSIDE the usbhostfs_pc folder

on my first time through i thought since I already have the ISO folder on another location it will be okay.

Just wanted to thank hodgins91 for this tutorial! I am a newbie to the PSP and have played a few games on ISO. On the weekend I bought NHL 07 and cant stand the incredibly slow load times of running off the UMD!

So I found this tutorial, read through it slowly and carefully and can now say I have an ISO of my NHL 97 that I can run at much quicker loading speeds!

Thanks again for the great tutorial!

Hiya, im a bigtime noob here, is there anyway to tell that the PSP is actually doing something and dumping my UMD because it says "Dumping UMD..." on my PSP and it also says "Device Connected" on my PC.

Thanks

Hi.

It should say dumping umd and also say how many sectors is being dumped out of the total number of sectors.

You could go to the ISO folder on your PC that you created and check if there is a file called MYUMD being created in that folder. If you see it then it means your psp is dumping the UMD.

Check it every 10 secs and the size of the MYUMD file should increase.

Ok hope it helps out.
