u sure its not a dvdrip cause dvdrips cant work without a breaker pro. if it is a dvdrip get a breaker pro(it's great i have one) and then ur dvdrips will play fine. also if its not a dvdrip try using alchohol 120% because its a great prog just put it on ps2 mode

Well I have done my home work and read as many postings in this forum as well as the various other websites. I want to bring this situation up one more time to see if anyone out there who actually has my version of a PS2 have found a work around:

PS2 v9
Flip Top
Swap Magic CD 3.0
Swap Magic DVD 2.0

As long as I stay away from my problem DVD's to backup (ones that require something like CD Loader)all my DVD backups work great using SM DVD 2.0 disc.

My PS2 v9 will not boot up the Swap Magic CD 3.0. By reading the threads this appears to be a problem for V7, V9 & V10.

If anyone know any trick that can get the PS2 (v9) to load Swap Magic CD 3.0 I would appreciate the info. This aside again I say I am very happy with the DVD's I am able to backup. Thanks.

Sorry I missed the passage on the website that Swap Magic 3.0 CD will not work on V9 but should now work on v7. They are updating 3.0 to work with V9 but not yet released (3.1?).

hey i have some questions for you
#1 what do the different colored borders mean i usually have a quick green then blue
#2 why are you supposed to burn at 1x i always burn at 4x and dont have any problems is it because it could damage my ps2 or something cuz if its that then im in trouble

#1 green to blue means that the game is in working condition and will play.. if it pass the blue border but will not play read #2

#2.. the reason if u burn it at a higher speed then it will put it on the cd fast and can skip important data to be on the cd.. that why at 1x or 2x it will have a complete copy of the game and not miss any sectors..

The company I purchased the Flip Top from has informed me that there is an updated version of Swap Magic 3.0 CD coming out that will play on V9 & V10 PS2. It is just now shipping from the manufacturer.

Thanks djesusjay,

Just wanna clarify one thing; there are two sets at the bottom both with swap magic disks and one of them has a dvd case. OK i understand this part but why is the one including a dvd case cheaper to buy than the other set?. To be honest i would'nt care about the dvd case just want the disks so which option would be cheapest for me.

Thank You.

This is to anyone in the forum. Any good links of where to purchase flip-top cover and swapmagic disks where they ship to the UK and accept solo cards as my parents do not let me use their credit cards so i have to use my own damn SOLO card.

Thanks for any help.

Bizmoan -

I'd say chances are that your problem is with the amount of data on your discs. It it is larger than 633mb, in most cases swap magic 2 AND 3 will not boot it. (There are a few exceptions, but they are definatly few and far between). In order to boot a rip that is larger than 633mb, you need either breaker pro (TOC disk for swap magic 3), or you can make your own TOC disk by adding a 700mb dummy file to cd loader then burning it with Nero.

well, do you have a v9 or v10 ps2, because the swap magic cd wont work. Also, until the new cd comes out that works with the new ps2, you can get a version of cd loader that can be burned to a dvd. http://www.ps2ownz.com has it and they call it dvdloader. I got it and it works perfectly with my v9.

V9 PS2, flip top, SMD, DVDLoader
Pioneer 107, ritek g05
DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Nero

no there is no reason why 3.0 shouldnt work with my ps2 and if there was there should be at least one other out there that has a v4 that has the same problem

I'll just reiterate whay sly61019 mentioned, and I'll give a quote found on ps2ownx (posted 1/19/04):
*****
When the Swap Magic v3.0 USA CD initially was released, it was thought to work on ALL PS2 consoles from v1-10. However, this was found not to be the case, and the end result was that it was only compatable with v1-7 consoles leaving those in the US with more recent versions stuck using a Memory Card exploit.

However, we received confirmation from the manufacturer that the Swap Magic 3.0 USA CD discs after the initial batch run now support v9/10 consoles just like their PAL counterparts do... great news indeed for USA v9/10 owners! Shipments of the updated 3.0 USA Swap Magic discs are being distributed to resellers, so those interested in purchasing them for use on a USA v9/10 console may finally do so shortly!
