Hey everyone, i got a flip-top from gocybershop, and part of it is deformed, the area by the main power switch is missing, looks like a production problem, this also the part the screw screws into is partially gone making it so you can't screw in the screw at that corner. with this part missing you can see part of the mother board inside.

my question is, has anyone else had this problem if so how are they for replacing the faulty fliptop.

Also does anyone elses swap disks have circular patterns on the cd/dvd?

Help needed with my flip top. I read all the posts on this thread before buying one, but after buying one from ps2cover.com, I think it isn't right. No matter how I install the cover, the disc doesn't want to spin. I've tried loosening the screws, tightning them up, nothing. I took the white disc out and just set it on top of the discs, but it still won't spin in the modded case. Also, the front screw near the power and eject button doesn't have anything it screw into anymore with this new case... is that normal? Any help would really be appreciated with this....

are you being sure to insert the left side of the disc first? there is a lip on the left side of the tray that keeps the disc in place if the system is used in the vertical position, alot of people dont get the disc loaded right when they first get their fliptop because of that lip. just make sure you insert the left side of the disc first, making sure to get it under that lip, then down on the hub, give it a quick spin to make sure it spins smoothly.

for anyone that is interested in knowing the new Swap Magic CD is now out, it's version 3.02.
I have a V9 PS2 and I know Swap magic 2.0 was still supposed to work on it, but I could never get it to even boot up. I have a friend who claimed that it worked for a while and then stopped working on his V9 PS2. The new SM3.02 does boot up in my system fine and I got monopoly party to boot (it was the only CD I had, don't ask) Altho I must say when I tried to use the Loader disc it would not boot properly. The whole Background pic would turn into a shade of red (did that with monopoly too)then a red bar would flicker on and off on the top of the screen. Since I was never able to use the SM CD I don't know if the background pic going red is normal or not. Oh well just figured Id keep people in know about this new SMCD

update, I got the CD Loader to work, I guess since it's a V9 PS2 it's stubborn and the SMCD works sometimes (more often then not).

Hi,
I recently installed a flip top I got for £35 including swap disc's, I have made 2 succesful backup using Dvddcryptor.
1st was Conflict Desert Storm 2
2nd was 007 Everything Or Nothing, though this needed a cdloader disc to play.
wierd thing was I read dvd at 10x and write at 2.4x.
I use an external Pioneer 106D and datwrite -R discs
I burned the cdloader image with Nero 5.10.

Soulja; or anybody!
I can't get my MAFIA to copy correctly, as soon as the disk starts to load with SWM 2.0 DVD, I see the blue bar across the screen and then it just doesn't go anywhere else! I have left it for like 20 minutes and nothing. I have a version 4 PS2. Can anybody tell me if they have successfully backed-up the "MAFIA" game and if so, "WHAT SOFTWARE DID YOU USE OR WHAT PROCEDURE DID YOU USE TO BACK-UP THE COPY!" I have tried DVD Decrypter and Nero 6. Both copies were tried with Memorex 4x DVD's as my media! Please help!!

djesusjay: You have enough posts to be a junior member and yet don't know about swapmagicfix.com? thats what happens if you don't use a CDLoader from that site. Mafia requires one, so you just wasted a disc burning it twice.

Well I meant 4x is the highest the DVD will got Soulja I always burn @ 2.x Dam, you right about the posts' Ender88, and your right again, I don't have a squat-clue of what CDLoader is. I though when people talked about CDLoader is this "tree" they were talking about the Flip Top DVD/CD SWP Disk's. So were do I get directions of how to use this CDLoader or do I just add this file to my burn? If it's simple let me know the details in quicky format!
Thank's Ender88

Hi jasonmcr,
I downloaded the cdloader for 007 everything or nothing for version 1-6, and it works on mafia as well so I think you can just download any cdloader and it works on any game, its worth a try, have you tryed dvddcryptor for backing up dvd games i use it and have working backups of 007, mafia, and conflict desert storm 2.

I have a question about my flip top which I have recieved today along with a Magic Swap disc (which I have been unable to use anyway). Well, I followed all of the directions on this website: http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop/page1.cfm (excellent directions with pictures, by the way) and now that the job is finished my ps2 does not read games anymore. I put in any game such as the Magic Swap disc or others and it will simply spin until I get an error. The ps2 is not reading my games and I believe the fliptop case may just be too close to the motor and lens. The white plug sort of rubs on the game, and that is most likely the problem. I don't really know what I did wrong, if I did do anything wrong, but if anyone knows what the problem might be, whether they have experienced this or not, it would be greatly appreciated if I could be helped. Thankyou. : )
