Hi,

I'm a compleet newbie at copying Ps2 games, and so I have a lot of question marks.
I'm trying to copy 'Medal of honor - Rising of the sun' and it doesn't seem to work.
I tries copying it with Nero, but my PS2 doesn't seem to recognize it. And clonecd didn't work either.
I've AR2 V2, is it impossible to boot a backup without the original? Do I gotta write it on a cd than? And how do I do that? As you see, I'm really going crazy about this. Pllzzz help?

thnx

Ok I am assuming you have the fliptop cover... If you do then I would recomend purchasing the Swap Magic Discs becuase using the AR2 to boot dvd-r backups is a pain in the ass. As for burning the game use Nero following the the guide for it in this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/15105 . Make sure you burn at the slowest speed possible and to quality media like Ritek, Fujifilm, or Memorex DVD-R.

Is it possible to play DVD to CD rip games with a flip top?

I've seen posts all around about saying you need to do a "TOC Refresh" using the Breaker Pro but they never get instructions on what to do.

Hi,

thanx for your quick reply, but now I'm a bit confused (really a newbie). What is a fliptop? I have a boot disc 01 (for PSX) & 02 (for PS2) and have a memory cardridge from Ar2 V2.
And wath what is TOC, that I keep reading about?

I'm sorry about the stupid questions, but I'm trying to understand

After you read in the iso eject your game and place a dvd-r in your dvd burner. Then switch the mode to write, select the image source, select the destination, and then press the button to copy the iso to your dvd-r.

ok honestly I know people out there are still wicked newbs at backin games up , but don't you noobs think you should read all if not most of the posts here B4 asking mundain questions like whats a fliptop (do you even know what a mod chip is???). Anyways, your a fool for thinking a simple cd or DVD will let you play back ups without a modchip or a fliptop and swap magic boot CD/DVD. Now as far as where to get the stuff, STOP BEING LAZY AND READ THE MANY POSTS!

In order to play your backups you will either need a solder modchip or use a swap method. You can but the fliptop and swap magic combo for $40 at http://ps2cover.com/

I checked out that site ps2fliptop and the only option I could find that was different then http://www.fliptopcover.com was that they will sell you the Top Only of the Translucent cover for $32.95. http://www.fliptopcover.com sells the Top and Bottom for $35.95 and is only $3 more.

I just got a new message as I am on the http://www.fliptopcover.com mailing list and they have a special promotion code that saves you $5 off a order.
The promotion code is below:

I got done reading through about the 6th page and got burned out. But are there certain versions of flip-tops that will only work with certain versions of ps2 systems. I seen this one for sale for 15$, http://www.success-hk.com/pp/success.asp, but it says for v9 model. I think I have v4, what do you guys think will it work. Also I heard the swap disks will work with the swap, card in the same manner just more hassle with swapping.

On da pot wit my laptop.

I would just buy the v4-8 fliptop from http://ps2cover.com/ . Also the swap discs will work with the slide-card as well but the slid-card is a pain to use so I wouldn't recomend it.

I don't recommend buy from ps2cover.com, they ship from HongKong and there is a flaw on there lid, "the housing of the white discd is little short that other producers therefore it will make a loud noise when playing". I have to put a heavy book on top of the lid , to make a noise goes away (see previous comment). Buy it from usa site, because most of them get it from different companies (not in HongKong) search for "ps2 flip top"

I agreed not recommended the slide card.

I emailed to www.HDLoader.com and they said it will release Jun 4, 2004

Price range from around $25-$30

If anyone bought this "hdloader", I like to hear the review on this.

Thanks for the tips guys. Actually I've changed my mind on the flip top and slide card, apparently there is a way around both. Console corner sells a combo pack of a no solder chip, and swap magic disks for under 25$. And its one easy swap with that option. Although I haven't heard much about others using this, what do you guys think will it work?

If anyone wants to buy a fliptop for their playstation 2, the best place is from ps2cover.com. You can get the fliptop plus the software to go with it for just $39.75.
I just got mine today and I love it!

Stay away from ps2cover.com, if you order the dark clear blue, that one has some issues, the memory door does not fit it, there is a flaw in housing that why it make a loud noise when you playing the games, you need a heavy book put on top of the lid to push the weight down to stop the noise. I recommended buy from any sites as long as it not make buy the same manufactures. Currently there are 3 different manufactures that produces fliptop.
