Juz power on the PSP with the "pandora battery" (The battery in which you cut the pin 5) and the "Magic memory stick" which I hope so you made :P
1st, put the "Memory stick" and then put the "pandora battery" :)
The thing is that it won't power up without the AC adapter, I don't really know why.

Did you try any other battery on your PSP ??? :)
Well, the PSP does not power on to the XMB when inserting the pandora battery w/o a "Magic memory stick" :)
When you juz put a pandora battery to your PSP, only the "Power's" green light will glow and no display will be shown on the PSP screen :)

Well, most probably :P
Because in some other thread, I've seen that the "Extracting PBP" took 4 hours to complete :O (I'm not kidding)
So, be patient :)
Normally, it should finish in 3 - 4 mins but some cases are exceptional :)

It is my understanding that Some Long Load times on a mem stick is because it is possibly a fake MS. That would also explain why it might be having issues with getting a IPL on it so it can boot to Pandora.
Is there a windows based MS speed tester out there? I know of one for the PSP. One question is where did you get the MS you are using for the MMS, did you get it on-line and for cheep?

I have a Magic memory stick done. I think my problem is the battery. It just won't power up on its own, I need to plug in the AC adpater for it to power up, otherwise it's dead. Cutting pin5 on the ICO4 chip is supposed to make it load from the memory stick, but it loads to XMB.
I guess my question is , other than pin5 that I cut, are there any other pins I could remove.

You'll have to cut pin5 only !!! :)
No other pins >_>
I guess your battery is spoilt then >_<
You'll have to buy new one >_>

If there isn't an IC04 chip, then i guess the chances are that it can't be made into a Pandora, don't quote me though :/

So if I want to keep an old OEM FAT battery as Pandora in service mode, is that cool? It's backed up. It is 3yrs old but holds a charge. Do I jsut charge as said in tread and store and check on from time to time?
If it got plugged in by mistake, how do I get out of the Pandora recovery menue safely without flashing anuthing, or am I forced to flahs to something since the menue will pop up?
----------------------------------------------
Also, I newly discovered that my newest slim doesnt support creating of Pandoras Battery or even running the app period. Do you guys happen to know the cut off date (close enough time period of when sold) of the models that can? I want to buy another one but in white. So is it safe to say as for now, they all can be unbricked with ready made battery and magic stick?
As for my extra slim battery, it's a Sony OEM and pretty new. Can it be trimmed (the lil' plastic blcok at bottem) to fit FAT, or is there a reason they make it so the slim wont fit the FAT?

Yes, it's fine just sitting there, i've got an old battery that's been a softmodded Pandora for nearly 7 months now and it's still running and charging fine.

Just take the battery out or switch it off - nothing bad will happen.

Even though the new Slims are made so you can't softmod a battery on them, they're still fine for using a ready made Pandora on, Sony can't block that presumably because then they themselves would have no way of fixing bricked PSPs sent into them (well, they want to make more money, don't they?). I havn't been following stuff to do with Slims, but i'd guess they "fixed" the Slims around 2 months ago or so.

I thought Slim batteries could fit a Fat straight off, i guess i don't know everything, eh :P I wouldn't be able to advise you on that.

I thought so too, but just to let know. My FAT and EOM battery is very early gen (since 1.00) and the SLIM and it's OEM battery is 1 month. They both have some sort of key block at the bottom. the key on FAT bat. is such that it can alighn into SLIM box, but the key on SLIM bat is off by a notch. The block has 3 notches. They dont appear to be anything other then for helping to allighn when seating battery. Although, the FAT bats used 1800MAh where the SLIM is using 1200MAh so I wonder if the 1200 can even power the FAT steady enough. Even so, if only using to prompt for unbricker menue, should work as Pandora's battery on FAT.
Since the FAT battery is 1800ma, is that too much to use on the slim for ragular (yes, we know the door wont close), like on raod trips where you needed longer battery life? Or I even have the later 2200MAh.

ok you have to turn off your psp by holding it off until light is off then turn it back on and holding R at the same time, this will boot you to recovery mode just go in setting configuration disable umd then you'll be able to play now. good luck
or the other way is to put in the umd everything you play iso/cso games

Go to recovery menu. (Holding R trigger and starting your PSP). It should have a list of menus. Go to configuration. Find the bit where it says run ISO or whatever from. It should say '____ -no umd-' This means no UMD is required to run the memory stick app. M33 driver is similar to the OE one. I recommend sony Np9600. Remember set your kernal to 1.50.
