Hi,
I've read every reply in this thred... but somehow I still can't get my lowid away!!!
I'm using Netgear MR814v2, and I've seen somebody post the same router as me. However, I'm using Ameritech's ADSL, I don't know why I can't get the lowid away. I've follow every step they posted, like go to my router setting page to change my port forwarding...etc.!!! BUT I still have lowid.
Would somebody PLEASE help me???

I have a wireless setup that works stupendous from across my whole house. It works exactly the same as any computer without wireless. As long as you know how to set it up and get a wireless booster your in great shape. Firewalls are the biggest cause in slowdown, especially with a router. With all those different types of routers out there its so hard to find exactly what your problem is. I think its still best to contact your internet provider and get more info on it.

im going to have to agree with judoboy. there should be a standard in setup so that it is easier for the end user. but one that doesnt change is the theory of routing and firewalls. check out basic routing at cisco website or google search.

see if the ports are still set. Or check Emule and see if the ports are fine.

Greetings,
After wrestling with all the boxes, plugs and cables (don't get me started on cheap crimping tools) I have finally got my 2 desktops and 1 laptop to share my broadband.
Minor glitch is that I'm now getting LOWID'd in emule ...
I have read through the attached posts and pretty much get the gist of the issue but the problem I have is that the set-up of my Belkin router doesn't [to my brain at least] match the advice given.
When I go into "virtual server" I have 4 entries possible (10 separate lines of settings)
1. private IP wanting only the last set (which I assume is from IPCONfig) ... does this have to be set per machine that could run emule?
2. "Private port" (accepts 5 digits)
3. "Type" radio button (either TCP/UDP)
4. "Public Port" (accepts 5 digits)
Questions: I seem to need to set-up ports 4662 and 4672 but my attempts in blind-luck button pressing have so far led to lock-ups, frustration and possibly some air-traffic delays.
Going with the above possible fields can someone with a bit more knowledge of the subject than me (i.e. everyone else) drop a note with which numbers go where.
Much obliged ... virtual pint to the first to answer(what the hell virtual pint for everyone).
Cheers

@atambaev
I believe you can hit the windows key and "r" to bring up the run box and then type in "command" then do the ipconfig/all thing should work fine.
Alternatively you can just go to start and then select run from there...

Hello there, i ve just found out that thread to be interesting.
I m using a Netgear Router and i m having LowID in eMule.
I've trying to configure the router just like Judoboy explained it but i m having trouble finding out where to enter the following information :
" Application name: eMule
Trigger Port Range: 4660~4712
Incoming Port Range:4660~4712 "
" After this go to Forwarding on the top menu again. once in there click on Port Triggering on the bottom. "
Can you be more specific?
Thanks

Oh and yes, if you are using Win98 or WinME you gota launch Winip.cfg to get your IP informations.
If you are using Windows XP and if you are having the same problem ( DOS windows closing after typing ipconfig ) that's because you typed " ipconfig " right in the "run" windows.
To avoid that you gota click on Launch ---> Run ---> Type "Command" and once the DOS Windows open, type ipconfig.
That way the windows won't close ^^

It would seems that the first step is just enough on my netgear router. I m no longer getting LOWID
So for netgear's users, just follow the first step and that will work just fine :)

Ok here's my situation. I have been using Edonkey/Emule for 4 years and with a linksys router for 2 years. I wanna change my ports in Emule .42g but everytime I try to change them within eMule and then changing my port forwarding and triggering in my router I still get a Low ID. The mule and my router work fine when I use the standard donkey ports but doesn't seem to like when I try to change them. I don't understand why cause mIRC has no problems when I change the DCC ports in the prog and on my router. Can anybody help me with this one? TIA.
