I noticed on a post that you managed to sort out that eMule LOWID problem with your D-LINK. I have D-Link, and I managed to do most of it, but at the special applications page with the trigger and incoming ports, it will only let me select from a list of "poplular applications". How did you select EMULE to copy to an ID and trigger it? Thank you. Oh, and how do you turn off the XP firewall?

I'm having the same LowID problem, only I have no router, and no firewalls.
I'm using Sprint ADSL and a Prestige 645 modem. I looked in the settings and there's nothing there regarding port forwarding, or anything of that sort. Nothing about built in modem firewalls either.

Just found this out today. These are the numbers you put in your IE to get to the information page so you can port forward.
Gnet -- 192.168.123.254 -- DNS
NetGear -- 192.168.0.1 --DNS
D-Link -- 192.168.0.254 --DNS
Linksys -- 192.168.1.1 -- This is the one i used in the Faq.

I have never used a D link router before so im not sure how i can help you. If you cant even get the IE tab up then id say call your ISP and ask them what ip you should put in. Post here again once you get it and you can get in.

This reply to Spideymac on using paryial files:
In the E-mule client:
1. right-click on the file in question
2. Show File Details
3. Note the "part" file number, then close
4. right-click on the file in question
5. copy ed2k link to clipboard
6. in explorer go to emule/temp
7. copy the part file (remember the number from 3 above) to some other directory on your hard drive
8. go there and "rename" the file
9. when the file is highlighted for renaming ctrl-v to copy the clipboard contents as the new file name
10. clean up the name by backspacing to AVI, mpg, etc. Then Home to delete the extra characters in the front
11. hit enter and change the file name and extension
12. now view the file with WMP or your favorite player.

for those of you with a microsoft router or base station the address is 192.168.2.1 and login in with "password" (no user name required). select security, then port forwarding, and then select persistent port forwarding and then put in the numbers and jazz from the first screen and select add.

JudoBoy I F*CKIN LOVE YOU!!!! my client ID was always low just recently it was 758360 and I would run emule non stop for weeks at a time. I took your advice and it turned to 1566818885 in a blink of an eye and it no longer says LOWID.

If you have a Linksys router (like me) and are running Qwest/MSN broadband (i don't know about other ISP's) you have to type in:
192.168.0.1 instead of 192.168.1.1, typing 1.1 takes you to the MODEM reconfig page.

Contrary to what this thread says, I don't recommend setting your pc as the DMZ in your router. What this will do is leave your computer very open and vulnerable to the rest of the internet. A DMZ allows a the selected computer on your LAN to expose ALL of its ports to the Internet. When doing this, the exposed computer is no longer ?behind? the firewall. I really wouldn't recommend using this option, unless you take other measures to secure your pc.

I have a US Robotics USR 8054. I had trouble with LOWID (low ID) on eMule. I followed the instructions on USR's website http://www.usr.com/support/9105/9105-ug/casestudy.html. The second "case study" outlines the process to setup two virtual servers for eMule. The instructions are not very clear. (One of the biggest complaints about this router is that it is not very user friendly. Great features, but hard to figure it out, sometimes.) You need to login as admin, then go to Access >> Virtual Server, then follow the instructions to add the eMule v-servers. THEN you need to ENABLE them. Highlight each service after adding it and then click the ENABLE radio button. Do this for both the UDP and TCP services. Exit all browsers and restart eMule.
Now I have HIGHID (high ID).

SOLUTION FOR D-LINK ROUTERS...
I have a D-Link DI-624, and I've been experiencing LOWID on eMule since I first installed it a couple of months ago. I've been reading this thread, but haven't found the answer to the problem. I've just found the appropriate way to solve this problem on the D-Link website. The steps to resolve this are very simple, and instructions are provided in the link below for lots of different D-Link routers (not just the DI-624). Be sure to read all of the instructions for your particular router. It only takes about 10 minutes. I've done this and my LOWID problem is completely resolved. My most recent ID is 823973400. Feel free to e-mail me if the instructions on the site are not clear. Post back to this thread if it works. Best wishes.

i have usrobotics adsl router and 256k adsl connection
i also use kaspersky antihacker firewall
in emule i get low id... ( i have not got any special config yet)
i did the below steps and get high id easily...
1. in router (192.168.1.1); Security Tab -> Virtual Servers section, i put some certain port as open
For Example:
Server Name: emule
External Port Start : 4662 (which i connect to emule server)
External Port End : 4662
Protocol : TCP
Internal Port Start : 4662
Internal Port End : 4662
Server IP Address : 192.168.1.2 (which i run emule client app)
2. in Anti-Hacker i give Allow All permision to emule application
3. i also setup emule's tcp-ip port to 4662 in preferences
BINGO: i start emule and get high id on emule servers which use 4662 tcp port...
PS: in usrobotics
Virtual Server allows you to direct incoming traffic from the WAN side (identified by Protocol and External port) to an Internal server with a private IP address on the LAN side. If you need to convert an external port you need to enter an internal port.

I followed the tips to adjust my router settings, but my Low ID in eMule has gone from 29.4% down to 0.04%.
I assume I have done something wrong, but cannot see what.
