hey, how the heck are you supposed to put in the cd loader?
Everytime I try to swap it in after I put in Swap Magic CD, it grinds the CD loader up thus rendering it useless. SO I have to burn a new CD loader every single time.
It only loads up sometimes if I boot it up using Special Boot, but it never boots up sucessfully the first time!
I'm using a ps2 v.4, with swap magic 3.2
Is there a way to put in the disc? Do I put it in gently or press down on it so that it's secure?
Please? Can someone help!?

HEy all my dvds are starting to load very slow on my V5 PS2, movies, games, swap magic, everything. There is no error screen or anything like that but the load time is horrendously long and very frustrating. Is there anything I can do?

Hello ALL;
I got a different question for you chaps! I wanted to know if anyone has ever had this problem. Since I've been playing my back-ups on my PS2 for about a year it has been kinda laggy in some games. Like it needs to stop for 1 second to read the disk, so It lags the game. Since it's gotten so bad I can't even play my back-ups, I bough another PS2 from ebay and installed my flip top on it and it works fine?, with no lags! My old PS2 is a v4 and the one I bought is a v7. So I guess my v4 PS2 is either old or dirty or something, because it will play my originals just fine. I just have trouble with my back-ups on my old v4 PS2. Any suggestions Anyone?

hey guys i see all off you have great experience using the flip top for ps2. i'm about to invest in one for my son and will be using either alchol 120% to burn or dvd encrypter. My question is I've read a few places where the motor can burn out using the flip tray. I"m trying to figure out why is that or have anyone experienced this problem. I just can't see how the motor will burn out not unless the cd never stops running and continue to run from the beginning of turning the power on.

That's the slide-card that can wear down your cd/dvd drive motor not the fliptop. The fliptop exposes the laser and can sometimes have dust get on it but that can be fixed by just cleaning with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol.

Now i'm looking for information or similar solutions for the xbox. Just started the research for this so any information you guys have would be appreciated. Again looking for a no mod solution if any.

Of course the fliptop can play originals online. You just play it like any other game without using the flip top. I think you can play backups online with a fliptop as well, as long as no one else is playing on at the same time you are. (shouldn't be a problem if you backed up your original)

what the heck is wrong with my flip top? i ordered from modchipkits.com and this is the second one they have sent me because the first one wasnt working right either. I installed it fine, and when i boot a game, the ps2 starts to make these crazy noises kind of like a grinding sound. I am also unable to boot CD swap magic, and it takes many tries for DVD swap magic to boot. I did get a backup to boot once, but it just froze after a little bit. Anybody have this problem?

You may have one of the older push button flip tops when they first came out they had a problem in that the white round CD retainer under the lid needed to be shaved a bit as it would make noise and sometimes coust the discs not to boot. Or you may have a knock off flip top cover, I herd they have problems. The new push button ones at www.fliptopcover.com work fine as they have been fixed up and come with the white circle already and all other parts so it works from version 4-11. I don't know how they did it but they have a super low price now of $35.95 for the black cover and swap magic and $45.95 for the translucent that comes with top and bottom and swap magic discs. For cover alone it is $22.95 for black and $33.95 for the translucent top. I am on there e-mail list and got the prices about a week agao. They never go up in price as they sell wholesale too so it is the current prices. They may be able to help you on how to shave the white circle down too or fix yours if not sell you one that will work properly.

this problem has come up time and time again...if your flip lid is not proper and your little white round thingy keeps slipping or making grinding noises just take out of the flip lid and place it on top of the cd........its not that hard.....you'll have to play games with the lid open but it does the job!!!

dude thats the ghetto way!!
just loosen your screws on the bottom of the system they may be too tight. If that doesn't work then do the opposite and tighten them. You see if theyre too loose then the magnet grinds on the bottom of it's "spindle" and if it's too tight then it grinds on the top.
