just got back from GameStop, i was the fourth inline. store was supposed to open at 10, but since there was only four of us they let us come in. the one guy showed up at 6am and the other two showed up at 8 and i came at 8:40. the employee said they are allowed to take 16 preorders.

look, prte-ordering is still such a small factor in getting a console. so many people will be issued one w/o a console. pre-ordering is not what this generation of consoles is for, there are too few (cept for the wii being so chincy and inexpensive). too few are out there to slack back and be lazy.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

well there was only four of us so i am not too worried. all i know is it beats sitting out an entire night in the cold, possibly snow, rain, wind etc. besides there is not really too much doubt in my mind that i'll get it at launch day.

Same here, my friend, my friends mom, and I were the first 3 people in the store, and the first 3 to pre-order, I will be picking it up at 10:00 nov 17. No doubt in my mind that me and my friends won't have them.

I already asked if you can preorder by phone. The answer was no. I'm guessing it's too late for most places to preorder anyways. Since preordering didn't work out for me, I might try my hand at camping. So (for the most part, I know that each individual store makes its own rules) does a camper get a PS3 before someone who preorders?

technically no, since that is the whole point in preordering. the way it is supposed to work is that those who preordered at say GameStop have the first opportunity to get the console without having to go through the hassle of waiting in lines outside and such. then after those who preordered have gotten their systems, w/e is left,if any will then be first come first serve. i am not saying that is how it is going to be, but in theory that is how it should work out....

So even though you pre-ordered get there early, you don't have to camp, but you need to be there when the store opens.

definitely look like all EB Games and Gamestop have a 16 unit limit. I was 15th in line at mine and after #16, they said that was it. ANd Im sure at most of these the preorders are taken. There were about 8 unhappy people that were told no dice.

Ok say your eb games took 16 preorders. Is that all there going to receive or do u think they'll have extras to sell? How was it at eb with 360?
In fact I think we would be fooling our selves if we have a community this large, and did not realize that there are some enemies present. |

that was one of the questions i was wondering myself about how many 360s these stores got. the gamestop i went to also was only taking 16 slots as well. the employee said if your 5 or lower you should be ok for the initial launch. not saying each store won't have more, but those who got there first have less to worry about. my gf's brother preordered at gamestop missed the first shipment, but was first on the list for the second. not exactly sure what day he ended up getting it in december, but it was well before xmas.

With such a low amount being distributed to each retailer I dont see stores like Ebgames and Gamestop having more then what to cover for pre-orders. Usually its pre-orders first. I just wonder how many people are going to be camping at the Walmart Super Center down the road from me since its open 24 hours.
They're spreading these thin.

My EB did only 14 preorders and my friend works for sony and is commisioned at gamestop to hadle all sony buys and he said that all the gamestops/ebgames in town are gettin 6 units for launch I was #'s 1,2, and4 so 3 for me and I am still going to do a launch camp I am going for 9 got 7 360's on launch

Well it depends on how desprete the people are and how mcuh they would buy ps3 for .... But you would certainly make more money then what you bought the ps3 for if you were to sell it.

guys remember when selling on ebay dont put em on the second u get home. People are still going to be out and tired after no luck. give it a day or even wait til a weekend to list it start it on friday night end it saturday noght. Thats the money making way. i learned from selling 5 360's.
In fact I think we would be fooling our selves if we have a community this large, and did not realize that there are some enemies present.
