I got a 512mb lexar jumpdrive and it works perfect with my backup of armax evo the drive was only 9 bucks at office max too

Ok here are some solutions not a tutorial but if someone wants a tutorial on the method i'll post one up
Method 1: Install UlaunchELF and transfer it through the program
Method 2: Install EXECFTP SERVER for ps2 and just extract it right out onto your computer (Network Adapter NEEDED)
like i said if u want a tutorial i'll post one up but i dont have the time at the moment so im not posting one yet.

I've just tried using my psp as a maxdrive compatible usb drive. It works!! Now you may all say "well, i don't have a psp!". Easy problem to solve. It's not the psp that AR cares about, It's actually just the memory stick. I tried using mine in the "card reader" I have (it's an enclosed card reader that's slim like a usb stick, so it essentially IS a usb stick :P, but I'm sure any usb memory stick reader will work). It appears to have to be a sony memory stick (any type that will fit into a reader you posess). Memory stick pro duos or even regular pros are cheap nowadays, when you get them in small sizes. I local store carried a 32MB one for $13. I'm delighted that this works because I will be using it with the AR MAX software to install the independence exploit to memory cards of ppl I set it up for! Hope this helps rather than confuses most of you. I was getting damn frustrated myself!!

Hello guys,
I would like to thank you for all the info.
I was having a bad time trying to make ARMAX evo working with a cheap mp3 player I decided to use as a PS2/PC transfer device.
Just had the HP/Compaq USB formatting tool (as linked in previous posts) to format the mp3 player and everything worked fine. Just that simple.
Saved me some bucks on buying a new pen drive. ;)

I'm having an exact 100% problem as the one posted above. In my case I bought a 64mb memory card and a 1 GB USB drive. The USB drive is detected just fine but my memory card shows up as red and I don't see a way to copy/move/uncrunch to my memory card as its grayed out.

Help!!! I screwed up big time, I used ARMAX Evo april 2006 update to "move" some save data from my 8 Mb memory card to the usb drive, the files I "selected" were moved succesfully, but the ones I didn't select have dissapeared from the memory card, the PS2 browser says "no data" and the MAX Memory browser says that is empty, but now I only have 6MB available on the memory card. T_T anyone knows how to fix it, I was 1 hour away from finishing Tales of the Abyss and because I didn't want to risk losing the file moving it to the Usb drive now I lost it from both T-T anyone pls, save my ass so I don't have to play the same 40 hours all over again.
[Edit] btw, when I say fix I mean recover the lost data since it seems it's still in there... also the memory seemed to take awfull long time to be readed by the game when I tried to load( acctually it never ended reading, I just got bored of waiting and shut it off. probably killed it for good but I hope someone knows how to fix it)
[Edit2]anyone know how to just format the Memory Card? I gave up on trying to copy the thing to an external storage, I will just resigne to buy cards, but for now I want to recover the 8Mb this one should have, anyone know how to reset it ^^?
[Edit3] memory card already formatted, no need to answer anymore (used armax to format it, hadn't seen the option =P)

ok well good luck with that. if youre gonna buy a memory card, there was a sale on the 8mb Sony memory cards at circuit city this week, $20 ($5 savings). but im not sure if the sale is nation wide or just for the east coast or maybe just for new england.

hi, I have MSI StarReader 52in1 USB 2.0 + 2GB MS DUO but it doesnt work with UlaunchELF, codebreaker. Is any solution there to access to the memory ? sry my english :-)

The only other reason why i think it might not be working is because your memory stick might be in the wrong format. I think it should be in FAT but im not 100% positive. Codebreaker is a little picky about which "USB mass storage devices" work with it, but uLaunch should be working just fine.

hello
i tried copying a ff12 save from the memory card to a 128mb lg flashdrive, the copy is all done without problems
the issue starts when i try to open it at ps2 save builder, i cant seem to open the save files, neither i can send them back to the memory card, and some save files(not ff12 ones) copy weird strange names without an extension and fairly big, lets say, like 30mb(IMO they're not even savefiles, i dont know where they come from, but instead of the others saves being saved, the babble-file shows up)
this is the error screen im getting left = ok with a savefile from the internet, right = boo, mine

i dont know if its the flash drive im using because i have no other i can test, but with memory cards i've done that with different ones and the problem remains the same
i tried using my digicam and copying the savefiles over to the memorystick but memory manager gives me 'unknown error' though it recognizes the usb drive is there and such
anyone got a light up there? :(

I have swap magic 3.6, a 512mb usb stick, a ps2 mem card, sd memory card usb adapter, a ps3 wih memory card slots. Can I transfer ps2 memory card files without buying the adapter for the ps3?
In fact I think we would be fooling our selves if we have a community this large, and did not realize that there are some enemies present. |

Hi I'm new to this but really want to convert my pny attache 64 mb flash drive for use on the PS2 and all i have is gameshark and the limited edition silver series model #77001 PS2. I know you guys have been answering this crap because I have read almost all the post but alot of the post are about ARmax/evo please help thanx alot

it coems down to if it dosent see the drive with the usb drive you have then most likely its the usb drive.

When i put the flash drive in and go to device manager in gameshark it is recognized but I can't move any files to it do I have to run the HP thing for it to work or do I need some other program thanks
