Nope once fmcb 1.8 is installed with what apps you want on it, there is no need for a Swap disk.

I have my games on my computer in .iso format.
In this case I can't seem to get the USBExtreme Utility to copy them to the USB drive. Any suggestions or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks again for your continued assistance.

Run the USBExtreme Utility to copy games to the USB drive.
Launch USBAdvance.elf from the mc
You can use Ulaunch.elf to copy the USBAdvance.elf to the mc.
If your using the latest uLe 4.36 you are able to use two USB drives now, so you if you had a pen drive you could run USBAdvance from the pen drive.

A couple of questions re the uLaunchelf tutorial please:
1)quote " * Now you browse to the file you want to have started automatically by uLe."
what file should I choose here?
2)quote"For exploit users:If, when preparing the exploit installer....."
Am I an exploit user? What is exploit?
Also...
Can I use usbinsane to convert my .iso game files. I tried it and got several files produced after running it on an .iso game (for example ul.CFD513A9.SLES_506.84.00 times by three plus a ul.cfg file)
Thanks again,
Nick.

You can PM me right here if you want everything installed on your memory card. You won't need Swap Magic to load up your games then.

where do you live?
Palmdale, California.
Ok well I can tell you where you can buy it, or you can let "core2kid" above install fmcb 1.8 to your mc.
He is reliable. Just click the link he provided and contact him.

You won't need Swap Magic, since you can boot into FMCB directly from the memory card; that takes the place of using Swap Magic.

Yes you can use usbinsane for ISO images to copy to the USB drive.
If you find there is a problem, then just use a virtual drive and mount the image, then use USBextreme Utility..
Those files are the files that are created on a USB drive for the game to launch.
That is how they look.
As for the ulaunch part and exploit, you can ignore both.
The tutorial was made for people who used swap magic or an exploit.
You have fmcb 1.8 so if you already have USBAdvance on the mc, you can launch it through the Sony Browser if you wish.
If you don't have it on the mc, you can use uLaunch.elf to copy it there and then use the fmcb 1.8 configurator to have it show in the Sony Browser.

fmcb 1.8 will only work on those models with a Date code of 8b and some 8c.
There is nothing for models later and never will be as Sony made a revision to the bios.
There is Swap Magic though and you only need to block Sensor A near the reset button.

Those type of exploits only work on a FAT PS2, not a slim.

Nope once fmcb 1.8 is installed with what apps you want on it, there is no need for a Swap disk.
Hey Smokyrain, just sent core2kid a pm, thanks for the info....i was going crazy already

Cool, you will like having fmcb 1.8 on your mc, and being able to load backups using ESR.
Or loading other apps(elf files) if you want just through your Sony Browser.
