The other day I went to GameStop and bought a used PSP 1001 for like $89.99 + tax and 4GB SanDisk memory stick pro duo for $29.99 + tax. I went home and to my disgust, whoever owned it previously upgraded the firmware to 6.37! I AM willing to buy a Pandora battery to downgrade this PSP but I have quite a few questions to ask.
1.)Where can I buy a decent inexpensive Pandora battery?
2.)Whats the max size of a memory stick that a PSP 1001 can use?
3.)Can someone link me to some tutorials on how to downgrade?
4.)What can the mods do for the PSP?
5.)OFW and CFW, what do they mean? (LOL)
I want to get my PSP to play backed up PSP ISOs, is this possible? I am a total NOOB to modding a PSP, though I have modded my PS2 last year with Free MCBoot (I know this info is totally irrelevant) LOL! But anyways, if someone can give me some links and a direction to follow, that would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

PS Sorry if these questions have been asked before...I'm using the search function at the moment to see if any of these questions have been asked.

EDIT:
I read this topic: http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-149/psp_fat_6_37_need_mod_for_it-889990/
Eisherz states that "Pandora Battery and Magic Memory Stick" will modd the PSP, where can I get a Magic Memory Stick? (also is there a tutorial on that?)

EDIT 2:
Hmmm, just found a topic to make a Pandora Battery, should I try this? :P Has anyone tried and did this successfully?

No, ome reason why you can't: 6.38 ME is unsigned, meaning you have to be on CFW (=Custom Firmware) or HEN (non-permanent homebrew enabler) first to install this.
In order to get CFW on this PSP you need a Pandora Battery and a Magic Memory stick.
To get a Magic Memory Stick, just google Magic Memory Stick maker.
To get the Pandora Battery go to www.dealextreme.com or one of the other resellers.
For tutorials, go to youtube.
And if you want to hardmod your original Sony battery into a Pandora to save about 4 US$, you can follow the tutorial you found, but if you don't do it right (or don't do the unmod right) you could end up with a dead battery.
Enough spoonfed.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Might work. I'd still recommend buying a Pandora, nobody knows how stable 6.38 ME is.

Im about to purchase a Pandora battery right now, but I have one more question to ask:
Do the Pandora batteries that work for 1000 and 2000 PSPs work also for the 3000 PSPs? I want to purchase a Pandora battery for a friend but his is a 3000.

EDIT:
Will this http://www.dealextreme.com/p/designer-s-ultra-high-speed-memory-stick-ms-pro-hg-duo-memory-card-16gb-44845 work for my PSP 1001?

No, you won't brick it, it simply won't work. The memory stick should work, but for a Magic Memory stick I suppose a smaller one.

I bought this http://www.dealextreme.com/p/pandora-psp-unbricker-service-battery-memory-stick-duo-2gb-combo-12710 . It comes with a 2gb Duo memory that I will use as a Magic Memory Stick. And the 16gb pro duo that I bought I will use for games, media, etc. I ended up buying a charger/data chord combo for my PSP as well as a duo memory USB adapter for my PC. Man, Deal Extreme has some pretty sweet prices! I'm going to order more from them in the future! Thanks everyone for your help! I appreciate it alot!! :)
