I have a PSP slim here, 3000, with firmware 6.38. Can I downgrade to an earlier version without a pandora? I want to homebrew it up! :p

You can't downgrade with a pandora. Just get one of the PRO-firmwares, I don't know if there is a 6.38 PRO, but there definitely are 6.39 PRO and 6.60 PRO, you can use them when on official firmware.
