PSP 1000 series faceplate replacement- broken LCD

I have a black psp1001.

I had the psp down to bare cover and swapped all parts over to new case(white psp1000)
when screwing the final screw on the new white psp1000 case, it became so tight it broke the LCD screen.

I then reassembled parts into orginal black 1001 case with different LCD screen(already cracked), and installed only the white 1000 faceplate to see if it would break the screen. It did.


Is it common to have faceplates from 1000's to break LCD screen on the 1001 series psp, or did i happen to get a hold of a wacked out faceplate.

I've had my psp apart countless amount of times, and put it back together without issue. any thoughts?
