Psp custom firmware for 3001 ver 6.60

I have a psp 3001 ver. 6.60 and i downloaded a file to get me custom firmware but every time i start the updater it says it can't be started.....is there some thing im doing wrong? can anyone send me a link to one that will work??

PSP 3k cannot be hacked permanently, so that is your main error. Your second error is to start unsigned homebrew from official firmware, which won't work (not realy relevant though).
Check out non-permanent firmware:

You have to keep your PSP in standby mode though, or it will revert back to official.

Downgrade to 6.20 then use "6.20 Pro-B9 update" then install permanent patch. There you go permanent cfw. For 300x models it's just a matter of not going passed 6.20 and you will be good to go.
