This may not be the place to post this but ive tried everywhere else and usually i can get good realible answers here....I'm hoping someone can help me out, i'm out of ideas. A friend of mine had a psp 2000 (dark red from value bundle) that had been sitting up for almost 2 years and decided to give it to me since he knew i was looking for one. Well got it home, knew it would be dead after so long and threw it on charge.... noticed there was no charging light, tried to turn it on.. no power. So ok the charger is old (actuallly a psp 1000 charger from a psp phat i owned years ago) so i figured i would head to gamestop and get a new charger, bought one had them let me plug it in right there and test it... same thing, no charge light, wont turn on. One of the employees looked over it a bit and pulled a used psp off the shelf and popped the battery from it into my psp and it turned on no problem, figured the battery was bad then and with my luck they were out of stock.... so I drove an hour away and bought one from another gamestop... got it home... popped it in my psp and threw it on charge...... nothing.. UGH!!!! I actually took the psp apart and cecked connection and looked for anything that may look like a blown fuse or anything that looked damaged.. and nothing.... anyone have any ideas.. or know of someone who is reasonably priced that can fix it in the US? I have ordered a external battery charger off ebay.. it was only 4 bucks shipped and was a brand new sony product so i figured nothing to lose. Any help would be great.. I'm lost, the pap has not been dropped nor CFW installed ( tho that was my intention lol)..i just dont know

Have you tried charging it by USB?
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

the actual charging fuse on that model is on the back of the motherboard, did you take the mother board out and check the fuse on the back? if not i would check there first. also would not hurt to look inside the charging jack i had one like that once that gave me a real fit and i finally notice that the yellow tip from another charger was stuck inside of it, once i pulled out the old tip it starting charging no problems.

honestly i had the motherboard out and had read somewhere about a flash blow fuse but no where could i find where it was located or what it looked like and i looked about the motherboard best i could but didnt see anything that might looked like a blown fuse (but honestly i didn't quite know what i was looking for) by any chance you or anyone else able to maybe post a pic of where it is? And how would i tell if its blown and what would i do? Sorry im a complete noob.
Also I did check the charging post and nothing stuck inside as well as i attempted to charge via usb and nothing, Thanks for the help everyone

the only way you would know if the fuse was blown was by testing it with a meter, if you have a circuit writer pen i would just bridge the fuses anyway, or you can always use a soldering iron. i do not have a picture but after looking at a board i see that i was wrong the charging fuse is right by the white connector on the top of the board. if you see the wire that connects the switch board to the motherboard its right by where the white plug goes into the motherboard.

i don't see a fuse in that area, i did notice that the fuses have a numeric marking on the mother board somewhere near them with an amp rating... but im not seeing anything that looks like a fuse around that area on the front side of the mobo.

not the greatest picture and fuzzy but this is where i am thinking you were taking about to look.. not seeing anything that appears to be a fuse

i have but nothing, but from what ive read basically the psp has to be in usb mode for it to charge that way.. i dunno.
Edit: Thinking on the advice to charge via usb, i got an idea.. I got my friends PHAT psp and took the battery out and put it in my 2000 and turned it on, went to system setting and made sure the usb charge was on and hooked the usb cable to it.. and the orange charging light came on for like a minute.. granted the phat battery was already at 100% charge.. but.. i'm thinking now the little piece that ac adapter plugs into may be bad or the wires that run to the connector.. hmm
