I have a modded psp (2000 darth vader slim 5.00 M33-6) that won't start.
The symptoms are as follows.
The psp will start up in as much as there is the power light indicator will turn green; it will not go into sleep mode, but it will shut off.

That's as much action as I can get from it. With or without a memory card, the system doesn't seem to boot at all. The scree remains blank and there are none of the start up sounds either.

Is there a way to revive my psp?

Thanks,

Mtz

Bricked plain and simple? Any solutions or repairs? Would this be the result of a hardware component failing and needing replacing?

It worked well for a couple of years, was working stably on the above mentioned firmware for many months.

No changes were made to this stable set up the unit and didn't demonstrate any symptoms of breaking down prior to this, so I doubt it had anything to do with any alterations that were made to it.

Any advice on how to determine the cause of the problem and fix it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Mtz

if the screen was out, you should still hear the startup sounds and other sounds, if it is coming on for a little while and then going off with no screen that is a good indication that it is bricked, it is possible that there could be another problem but not likely, if it something other than bricked IE hardware failure i doubt very seriously if you could ever find the solution.

Ah, Ok. Thanks very much! Dead or alive, at least it gives a bit of closure.
