Wii ISO File Burning

ey Guys,
I promise I put in the hours before asking, scoured the discussions, made enough coasters to feed a family of 8...Anyway, I have a Rar file I made to an ISO using Folder2ISO, I'm now trying to burn the file to disc (quality dvd-r-Verbatim)using Imgburn and I've seen nothing but failure. I must note I don't see any indicator my file to ISO file ever actually became an ISO as I can't see any ISO indicators but I ran it through folder2iso successfully. How can I test the disc to see if it was a good burn? Is there a guide to take megaupload/Fileserve files etc from a raw rar file to ISO you can direct me to? Please help a frustrated daddy impress his little boy. Oh, and I have a modded Wii that's got a password I don't know so it could be a hitch? Wouldn't think so though, the guy I had mod my Wii is no longer in the state so I can't ask him the password. Hope this wasn't too convoluted.

rar file with win rar will make an iso image that you will see on you pc it sorta looks like a cd. burn with img burn you were so close but you tried making your iso thru a programme
edit. rar file> extract with winrar> iso file> burn with imgburn

Really so cool of you to take your valuable time to help a stranger TongPo (sorry, gotta like Van Damme movies to get that!)So I just overcomplicated it by processing an already processed file I assume. I'm trying it now the way I think you mean, right click on the first rar file and put it in a file I can find on my desktop, then I'll burn it using Imgburn which I use every day to make flicks and I will use "write image file to disc" I assume. Then I will try to use the loader in homebrew and see what happens. One possible issue is the guy who modded my Wii moved out of state and I'm sure he password protected the game files (about 400 on a Terabyte external HD) so I could be screwed, can't access the Wii games except to dump/delete. He put 50 movies on it I can't find either!

No matter where I choose to extract it, I'm not getting a single iso or one that looks like a disc Heeeelp!

does it say wbfs once extracted?

If I direct it to extract someplace, say my desktop, it is called whatever I name the file of course my friend, if I just tag the word "extract here" under rar, I have no idea where "here" would be..make sense?

Frustrating, especially now that the only files I can find are ISO's of the PC, XBox, PS3 or PAL versions I assume I can't use on a USA system correct?

extract here means it will come out in that folder youur extracting in with all your rar files. and yes pal versions and ntsc will play on wii if you have neogamma and adjust settings. even if you extract to a different folder ( that lets say is new folder you should have some sort of file) what file have you got?

I understand, thanks, ok so there's tons of Pal files available (can I say the name of what I'm DL'ing or not? It's a game). I'll load it up again and follow your directions.
I have NeoGamma but I'm just learning to work with it, the guy who modded my unit moved away and I think everything is probably passworded, probably doesn't matter for our purposes. It asks me to update Homebrew from 1.0.3 to 1.0.8 but I'm afraid to check "OK", as I don't know what can brick a unit. I wouldn't know how to permit PAL files.
I use MiPony to DL which is a pain, it takes forever and you have to type in an anti-robot word as it stops at every new file for that. Annoying. I get my stuff from Megaupload and Fileserve mostly, I have a paid scrip to FS/Mega but I can't find a loader for FS, Megaupload has it's own (Megamanager) which is better than MiPony which also pauses between files sometimes for up to 45 min! (you have to wait) Any better methods you'd recommend to a 47 yr old Daddy just trying to impress his kid? I hope this is permissable conversation, please inform me if I'm exceeding my allowances and delete as necessary. I do not have a P2P, don't understand it much. Thanks Brother

Hey TongPo, is 3-4 hours a normal time to rip the files to your PC? Nothing wrong with my Lappie, HP Dual Core 2 yrs old 100 GB of free space, seems slow for an upload, I have DSL

Ok, so I did as the info you directed me to, I DL'd a file with 3 500MB of data (which seemed very small to me as most game files on my hard drive are over 4 gigs). I right-clicked on the first rar file and chose "extract here" and it created a 4th file (just another rar file) of all 3 500MB so file #4 is just a combination of the single files into one rar file..Now what? I righ clicked again and chose burn with Imgburn which it did "successfully", but it burned pretty fast, though 1450 MB wouldn't take very long. Let me add I am very experienced at ripping and burning movies.
I put the disc in my Wii and chose wiidvd dumper (correct?) and it began dumping the disc and stopped after a minute or so saying "error, could not write data to the device"
I knew it wasn't a good burn, 1450MB seemed too small a game file unless the game was compressed, also it burned fast too (though I burn movies in 10min).
My Neogamma is asking me to upgrade from 1.0.3 to 1.0.8, is that safe or will I brick it if I update? There's a message at the bottom of that page that says "scam alert". I haven't networked my Wii yet so I'm not online per-se but I have a wireless network in my house, so I'm wondering how Neogamma would know I need to update? Can my Wii read my network without having it's own N band adapter? My satellite has an N adapter to watch my Tivo movies on my laptop but my Wii isn't wired up and has no N adapter.
To recap: When I extracted the 3 game files it made a 4th rar file with all the 3 files into one. I burned that disc and it won't upload in Wii DVD dumper. It never made a "disc" looking file, just made another rar file with all the 1450MB of the first 3 files.

its homebrew channel you are updating and thats fine just dont update your system. you still dont have an iso file yet. and even if you did why would you want to dump it again when you would already have the iso? where are you based?

AGGHHH! NO BROTHER, NO ISO FILE. WHEN I DOWNLOAD THE FILES (THIS LAST TIME FOR EXAMPLE)
IT MADE ME 3 RAR FILES 500MB 500MB AND 452MB, THEN I RIGHT CLICK THE FIRST 500MB FILE AND HIT "EXTRACT HERE" AND IT MADE A NEW RAR WITH ALL 3 FILES COMBINED. I BURNED THAT FILE AND TRIED TO PLAY IT IN MY WII, I ASSMUME I TRIED TO PLAY IT USING THE WRONG PLACE (WII DVD DUMPER CLOS V1.2) SO I GUESS I DON'T KNOW HOW TO LOAD A BURNED DISC.
OK, SO I'M FROM SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA USA
I HAVE A 1 TERABYTE HARD DRIVE WHERE MY GAMES ARE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT MOD THE GUY DID SO I CAN'T SAY "SOFT OR HARD" IF YOU NEED THAT INFO

you play your games thru a loader neo gamma, cfg theres a few. the dumper basically works if you put an original game in it dumps it to your pc via your routr and takes ages. is your wii black?

No Wii is white,maybe 2 yrs old. Not sure if I have anything in my Neogamma called CFG, shall I pull my hard drive and hook it up to my laptop to update my homebrew, perhaps add "cfg"?

right so you play your games thru usb loader ok. right you need to down load the link i gave you. extract here, you will get an iso then you need a programme called wbfs ( google) install wbfs, plug in your hard drive to your pc. on wbfs click on refresh drive list find your drive click load, then browse find the iso you have just extractd from the rar files click on the iso then press add to drive. stop wasting discs now you dont need them

oh and when you plug your harddrive in your pc it will probably say it needs to format it DO NOT format it just IGNORE it and clear the screen
