No I can't! I don't remember if the AD-7240s could either. I think it did! I know the AD-7220 did.

plus you can change it from the nec scaning type 8ecc to the liteon scanning 1ecc. which is what i did. ill post screen shots of these.
sorry,
heres the link for binflash
http://binflash.cdfreaks.com/
make sure you get the WIN32 GUI version
then just load up the bin for it and go..

not to excited about the total PIE's but the PIF's are sweet. under 200, ill take that all day.

Here's one of those TDK's I talked about a while back. Given the age of the disc, I would imagine the DRU840 burned it at 8X. Or possibly a DRU830.
One of the ugliest playable discs i've seen LOL!
To delete, or not to delete. THAT is the question!

I guess the new 1has-124s like the -R 16x Verbs I bought by mistake. Decent enough scan.
Pretty high on the PIEs, and decent enough in the PIFs. They don't scan as good as the 16x +R Verbs, but I've only have about 15 of the -Rs left! I've got to put the Floppy back in so I can flash the drives. Then I'll be able to set Booktyping.

Russ you don't need a floppy to flash it. just download the FW zip file and open it. then download the binflash win32 gui and do the dump of the old fw then install he new fw then reboot. thats it.
i haven't tried any of the -r TYs yet.

Rob,
If I never learned anything about computers, I learned to never flash anything through Windows. Even the motherboard manufacturer's don't recommend it, and caution you against doing it that way! I've never done it, and I never will! I would much rather do it with a floppy. It only takes a minute or two to install it, and I know how to do it that way. The TYs will be shipped later today!
Best Regards,
Russ

I've had too many floppy drives Flop on me(pun intended). I was trying to upgrade my oldest computers bios one day, and 3/4 of my drives had major bugs. NOT good. The technology is old, therefor unreliable LOL! That's simply my opinion though. I'm sure russ will have a counter argument :p And that's ok. But know this russ, you probably have a reliable floppy drive. I've NEVER had one. You have luck with floppy drives, I have luck with taiyo yuden :p

Well, my first computer was from Wood, and you had to put chains on it in the wintertime, and the system timer was an hourglass. The hard drive was this monstrous Winchester drive that sat on the desk externally and screamed at you. I think it was about a 10 inch drive You didn't need sound, because you couldn't hear it anyway over the noise of the HDD! It ran a system called CPM, and had a CPU called a Z80. It had 4MB of memory. Nothing out of date about me! LOL!!

Oman7,
I have floppy drives that are older than some of the members here, and they still work. I keep an old Teac Dual drive, 5.25" and 3.50", as I still come across people that have data on 1.2MB 5.25" floppies. The floppies themselves, are more unreliable than the drives.

I had NEW floppies. It was the 3 of the 4 drives. They went to the city dump...
It's my guess that they sat and collected too much dust. Things don't like to sit and be forgotten about ;)
Here's the best TYG03 I've seen in a while.
JVC/TY TYG03 burned at 12X via my oldest 7200A. It made a curious sound yesterday. Its days may be numbered. Which would be ok. I lost count on how many discs its seen. Probably upwards of 600-800 discs. My LH-20A1H has seen more :p Wish lite-on still made them super good like that :(
To delete, or not to delete. THAT is the question!

I was a computer virgin in 97 when I got my first pc and was running win 95. I think I could build one now with ease except for installing the OS and bios or whatever you do with it..LOL
