Yeh MCC 003 is the GOOD stuff from Verbatim. I have a few left from the retail packages of the 8X media. NOT the 'movie reel' ones. I think the CompUSA here is selling them for $7.99/25 + tax of course. They have 100's of them. They even have the DVD-R version. :D
Nice scan Rob!!!

Ive recently found about Verbatim changing its manufacturing of Double layer DVD'S to India(although it may be a long ago), I started investigating about differences in quality about the media MIS and MII I found many opinions, lamentably none agreed on the fact that Double layer MII where as good as those MIS, some said they gave alot of coasters others that they where ok but not as good as MIS etc..
So I decided to investigate myself, I bought a pack of 20 Verbs DVD+R DL 2.4X through the net and they where MII :(. But because I only wanted to stick with the best I found out that the 8X DVD+R DL of this same brand where made in Singapore, so I again bought a 20 pack. I have to clarify I did this test using a Brand new LITEON DH-20A3H burner, using Nero 7.
I tried using both kind of discs (MII and MIS) to see its results and here they are:
DVD+R DL 8X Made in Singapore (burned at 4x):
Media Code: MKM003
Sorry for those who do not understand spanish: Promedio=Average Maximo=Maximum
DVD+R DL 2.4X Made in India (Burned at 2.4x):
As you see quality differences are noticeable, although both are readable the MII has much more errors, and for those who think this was just pure bad luck, I again burned a MII DL and got a complete coaster with tons of errors, and when I tried burning MIS I got a similar result with little errors as the one I posted.
I hope this informations helps, and if you think you need more information Ill gladly post it, I have burned other of this DL dics in other burners with similar results, also Ive burned the old 2.4X MIS and got similar results as those with 8X capability but if you want to check the test I can post them. Any other info you think necessary just ask. I hope this information was helpfull and that assures the fact that MII DL are really not worth it.

Paztelu you might try those MII DL's at 4x and see what happens. ;) I would recommend updating your f/w to the latest f/w if it's not. ;) go here and click on last link, that should be for your drive. Read a little in that thread and make sure I'm on the right track for YOUR drive. :D
good luck...

GOOD point and I agree. ;) I think they still oversee the process but the "quality" seems to be lacking to say the least. There's plenty of "proof" out there Rob. You don't have to search for anything just make sure when you BUY Verb DL's to get the MIS discs. ;) Just so you know the 2.4x DL Sony MIS are Verbs too. I've been waiting for them to go on sale again here but NO luck as of yet. :D

Hi all, recently i have started to get some playback errors, thought it may be the film itself i have burnt but then thought it could be the disks. I have ran the nero cd dvd speed tool but am having dificulty in processing the results as im not sure what is acceptable or unacceptable really.

I burnt this particular disk at 8x, which is what i normally burn at without any problems what so ever. The disks are PiData Ritek G05, used loads before and no problems.
Would the quality of the data effect the results in nero cd dvd speed tool or is really only the disk itself??
How many PI Errors, Average, maximum and total would be an acceptable level??
How many PI Failures, Average, maximum and total would be an acceptable level??
Any help appreciated
