Hey Rob try taking the disk size on those Ty's to 4400, see what you get.Thats where mine burn the best.Haven't pulled that elusive 100 yet but lot's of 98 and a few 99's. Chris

Rob, with the Litey scoring system, it's really impossible to get above a 98 with Nero, any PIF of 2 gives you a 95, that is where most of my disks fall. It seems that each point will result in a 2-2 1/2 point reduction from the overall score. Hence a PIF spike of 4 will result in a 90 with a Lite-on. You'll never get a 99 unless you take steroids like Mr. Bonds or bet on your own team.....

@bilvetNC
ive gotten a few 98's but none since/with the newest firmware for the LH-18A1P
allmost got one with that last scan on the 8x+r TY
and i cant get roids for my drives our friend MR Bonds has them all in the clear...lmao
@chris
sweet azz burns there 17 total PIFs cant beat that. but like BlivetNC said the 1 spike to 3 would be a 93 on our litey's and the 4 would be a 90...
our good friend docTY reburnt a movie i sent him for me and scaned it on his Benq dw1650 and got a 99 on it. when i got it and scanned it, it was a 93... still had the very low PIFs but them little spikes up to 3 or 4 drop it on the litey's but i would take a spike of 3 or 4 with a total of only 16 pifs any day

OK, couple of new scans of Ricohjpn D01-067 Glossys. Dual scans of same disc, one after another. Same scan, same drive.
Burned & scanned with Lite-on LH-20A1H.
First Scan.
Second Scan.
Oops! Forgot to say that this disc played fine on my stand-a-lone.
70% scan on the first run, 84% on the 2nd. I ran a 3rd and it was in between the first 2 (a 78%).
Showing all that everything isn't copestetic with me with these discs.
I was told by my supplier that I should burn these discs with my newest drive with it's newest f/w. He implied that an older drive with newest firmware won't burn these well. My results agree with his recommendation.
I have a burn with my Lite-On LH-20A1S which I got a 93% score, I will append to this post.
Here's the 2nd disc, burned @ 4x w/Lite-On LH20A1S, scanned @ 4x: Scan.
@greensman,
Still fighting the new build issue. Think its now an install issue.
Kisses

hey Z,
Does running multiple burners slow down your system? If not, how do you have that set up?
Thx,
Wy

Things have been a little slow lately. I'll try to "jump-start" this thread with a little scan or two. ;)
Pioneer DVR 112L 8.06
burned with Nero ROM (dual burn with LG) @ 4X (compatible speed for both drives)
TYG02 silver shiny top
stat
scan
LG GSA-H62N CL01
Same engine and MID as Pioneer
stat
scan
Lite-On LH-20A1S
IMGBURN @8X
TYG02
stat
scan
I know the first 2 look familiar as far as drives go and they are but I got these as "open box" deals from the EGG. ;) Big discount btw. Yeah!!! btw they work like a champ as you can see. :)
Just wanted to post a scan of a burn by the LH-20A1S for my buddy ZoSo. :P

greensman is right, it has been a little slow in this thread.
So here are several scans to liven things up abit, I hope!
First off, here are several RicohJpn D01 067 glossys (is it "glossys" or "glossies"?), all burned on Samsung 203B @ 4x with KC modded SB01 f/w. All scans @ 4x also:
Link: Liteon 20A1H Scan.
Link Same disc, Samsung 203B scan
Started to think something funky was going on after this burn:
Link Liteon 20A1H Scan
Link Thinking more strongly something funky going on.
Link Again, something is going on. Decided to clean my burners. Last cleaned them on Nov. 1st. (fyi, I live in an old house (1921) and it gets dusty quickly.)
Aaah! Much better! Link
I can live with more of these! Link.
Here's a change of pace. A Verb 8x -R. Burned @ 4x on Samsung 203B with a 4x Scan on a Liteon 20A1H: Linky.

Well, there are at least 3 ways. The first, simplest, is to buy a cd/dvd Cleaning disc. It's a cd/dvd with little brushes on the underside which gently brush the laser lens while playing. I have a couple of them(they do wear out), one of which is called a Memorex CD/DVD OptiDisc.
The second is to get a can of compressed air and blow it out. This rearranges the dust, with the hope that most blows out the slot.
The third is to gently clean the laser lens with a qtip with alcohol. The first 2 are what are generally recommended because with the 3rd there is the posibility that you can leave a residue and/or damage the lens(it is a "floating" lens, you could accidentally "fixate" it, or worse).
This help?
