How to get Persona PSP game working

I got an .iso file for the Persona PSP game. The problem is that I have no idea why my PSP can't play it. To be more specific, I can I open the game but I am only able to watch the opening animation and after that it seems like the game just freezes (you see a black screen). It just won't let me get to the game menu, hence I can't play the game.

I haven't used my PSP for a VERY long time so I've not been updated with what games need what kind of firmware.

Currently, my PSP has the system softwarre 3.90 M33-3 and it also uses DEV HOOK v.21.

Can someone tell me how to fix my PSP so that I can play it? Maybe tell me how to update my PSP, or how to fix the game itself? Also if it needs updating, I'd like to know how to update it while being able to play both new and old games.

Firmware should be 5.00m33-6 (hellcats recovery flasher will get you there)
Make sure you have the patched iso
The driver in the recovery settings must be SONY - not the m33 driver
