I put a rockband on my sisters PSP the other day it worked just fine for a while but then the next day she turned it on and the PSP didn't see it at all it says "There are no games" I plugged it in to the computer and it is there and taking up space. it's in the iso folder I tried to format the memory stick, that didn't work, I tried different games, that didn't work either, I tried switching the memory card with my psp but my psp couldn't read the games on my sister's memory card but she can read mine just fine and see the games!
yes both mine and my sister's PSP have CFW on it (5.50 GEN-D2 to be exact)
Hey imjrfunky! Are you a boy or a girl? (just wondering..) Cause you and I have like, similar situations here. Both me and and my lil sis has PSP's too. Mine is a 2001 model; version 4.01 M33-2. And it's working fine. And my sister got also a PSP, but it's a 3000 model! (I know! It's kinda unfair! And freakin cool. Atleast I got one first. LOL) Anyway, after a few days of playing 8 hours/ day straight .. the PSP cannot read games anymore! (Haha.. so not cool. Too bad.)She was freaking out! Especially that she has "zero" knowledge on PSP's. It read "There are no games" just like yours. And I think I know the reason. Both you and your sis has a PSP 2001, right? So i think the version should be downgraded to version 4.01 just like mine, or lower than 5.00. Cause i think only PSP 3000 can have version 5.00 or lower in order to download and play games with it. Don't worry about the memo stick, there's no problem with it. It's the PSP. (I know how you feel, I went there!) Anyways, hope this would give you an idea. Hoping this will help you! So sorry for the "LONG and BORING" write-ups.. =)
your psp is modded right? To play a game from a memory stick, you must have a disk in the UMD drive. The psp thinks its reading from the disk but its actually reading from the CARD.
@jaja16:
A PSP 3000 can't be modded permanently. I bet your sister switched it off or the battery went totally down. It reverts back to the original firmware then.
With your PSP 2001 with CFW 4.01 M33-2 you are not able to play the newer games. You should update to 5.50 GEN-D3 if you want any newer games.
@badboypl3
That information is outdated. Just go to recovery menue and select one of the drivers. Then you don't need a game UMD in the drive anymore.
@imjrfunky I am pretty sure your sister's memory stick is broken. Both your PSPs don't read it anymore, you can't format it and both PSPs work fine with your memorystick. So it is definitely not the PSPs.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

When selecting one of these drivers you don't turn the UMD drive off. And you don't have to go back into recovery menue to deactivate NO UMD to play UMDs again. You simply tell the PSP that it doesn't need an UMD anymore to play a game. Also in this case here it isn't about reading a game from an UMD but to play games from a memory stick.
