Hello All,
I've had several Psp's laying around the house but haven't really had time to mess with them... I am just wondering what's the most current firmware that I can place them on and where can I find the instructions on creating a pandora battery or whatever is currently used to unlock them... Cause right now, i'm completely lost... I don't even know what else I can used them for anymore besides playing games... Thanks.
Don't Hate Me For Being New To This... Lol.

The newest official firmware is 6.31. Don't update your psp because it blocks home brew unless you buy hot shots golf.
The newest custom firmware is 5.50 gen D3. Although it is not the newest, I believe 5.00 m33-6 is the most stable. They are not really different, just on different firmwares. You can play all of the same games on either one, even the new ones requiring 5.03 + games by patching either the game iso or the custom firmware.
If you want to add custom firmware to your psp, you need a pandora battery and a magic memory stick.
You can buy a pandora battery from dealextreme.com for around 5$. You can make a magic memory stick with your normal one.
Before I explain, what model psp and what firmware do you have? Only the psp 1000 and most of the 2000's can have full custom firmware. If you have a psp 3000 under the official firmware 5.03 you can have a temporary custom firmware, when you put your psp in sleep mode you can turn it back on and still have cfw, but if you turn it all the way off you have to re-run the hack.
Toshiba Satellite a665 16.5" laptop - Intel i3 - 4gb RAM - 500 gb HDD
PS3 Slim 320GB HDD 3.41 OFW
PS2 Slim SCPH-70012 - Free McBoot 1.8 - 128MB Memory Card
PSP 3001 Silver - Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-C - 8GB Sony Memory Stick
iPod Touch 2g - 8gb - MC version - Jailbroken

Not even an unstable one.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

No, you'd need to be on 5.03 to be able to play isos. But you might get lucky (a big might), there's supposedly a new firmware release in December, which doesn't have an iso loader. It is possible though that you a) are able to downgrade with it or b) someone else codes an iso loader for this firmware. So far both options are pure speculation and I personally wouldn't bet my money on any.
