Ahh the laser fix. $ony purposely made the v12 laser weak. So, your laser will stop working faster than on v13+ and older Fat PS2 systems. How do u fix this? With either the comsoft or subzero fix, it will detect when the laser overheats & shut it off. I haven't run into any probs & I own a v12. I know that I will though, this is a perm prob with the laser. No fix = asking for trouble. So if u own a v12 system, my advice is to Google on subzero fix or comsoft fix and you'll find what you need.

Hey Glitched. How you doin man? I think you should add that you don't need to patch your back ups for online play with the Crystal Chip now (hacked firmware). Keep up the good work man.

I wanted to know if The DMS4 E.Z.I Lite needs to be installed by a professional. I wanted
to know because I have NO idea of any company that could install this for me that is in my
area.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have a v9 ps2. Also if you have any suggestions on which
mod chip I should get, I'm open to them. But it has to be compatible with ARMAX, the
whole reason I want a mod chip is so that I can cheat on my games.

Hey, I have a V4 PS2 and I think the matrix modchip will be the best one for me. I was wondering if anybody could tell me if getting the modchip will in anyway effect the laser in my PS2. If so, are the lasers easy/affordable to replace?

ya the matrix is a great chip, To prevent your laser to die get a laser fix, this can be bought at most modchip online stores, and laser cost 40-70$ to replace and a laser fix is just 8-10 so get it

I want to have my matrix modchip installed by the people at xbox-modchips.com...but it looks like they dont offer the laser fix. I googled all around to try and find a place that will install the matrix modchip and the laser fix for me but i cant find any. The only one I found is where they will send the stuff to me to install myself and I would much rather have someone who knows what they are doing install it for me. Any ideas on a site that will sell and install the matrix mod and the laser fix for me? Thanks.

I think you should buy the laser fix then send it to http://teammodders.com/(send the ps2 too) and they will install the matrix for you because they have it......ask them if they will to the laser fix

Quote: I wanted to know if The DMS4 E.Z.I Lite needs to be installed by a professional
hell YES (let me repeat that...HELL YES!!!) I recommend a pro do an install of any m0dchip. Why? Because the landings (the place where the leads are to soldered to the chip & wires) are sooo incredibly small, anything but an expert WILL toast your board. If it was so easy, there wouldn't be any need for modders, right?
As far as I'm concerned, anyone who tells you "nah man, you can do it yourself" should have their nads chopped off. Don't let anyone touch your PS2 board but a pro.
Steimy would be someone you contact, he knows about this stuff ;)

I just a slimline ps2.
From looking on the back it is a v14.
Does anyone have a modded v14, Hows it working and limits ?
My only interest is modding for back up disks.
My kids are very hard on the orginal disks. Even with puter, I have gone thru a few orginals and backs ups from stratches and them loosing or breaking them.
I ordered the matrix, version 1.68, however this did not seem to show or say anything about green dot.
I along with the order, asked if this was the latest version, better than green dot or was older.
I added in also that I wanted either the green dot one or newer one, if the version 1.68 was newer.

hey! i read the first thread but i didn't see my pstwo's model in there. so it'd be greatly appreciated if i could get some help from you pro's. what version is my pstwo? my ps2 is a SCPH-75001. also trying to choose which modchip i should go with. the main thing i want to be able to do, is put a bunch of games on USB HDD and play em directly off of it. im not really sure what other types of things you can do with a pstwo though. is there multiple dashboards to choose from like on my xbox? well thats all i can think of right now.. thanks in advance!

What all comes with the mod chip ?
I ordered the wire kit, but it did not say if the wires were pre-cut or trimmed or different colors.
I looked on web site of MFG, I seen pictures of the how to install. but wondered if it came with more info and so forth.
Some of you mentioned having or checking different options in the firm ware ofthe chip.
So, could anyone tell me what all comes with the chip ?
I ordered from www.modchips.com,
