Yeah. Unlimited Saga is truly awful. I played four minutes of it and that was it. Sadly, I do have a backup of it. I "acquired" my copy before I read any reviews of the game, then I played it... and yes it's in the junk pile never to be played again. Hmmm awful PS2 RPG's, dunno most of the ones I have are good. The worst PSX RPG had to be Beyond the Beyond, truly one steaming pile of Sony marsupial turds. As far as SNES RPG's, FF Mystic Quest, Secret of the Stars, and couple other obscure ones nobody here would've heard of. I've heard Orphen: Scion of Sorcery is pretty terrible, never played it though. I'd have to go with Unlimited Saga, truly an awful game. At least Saga Frontier and Saga Frontier 2 were playable (barely). Unlimited Saga may be the worst Square game since... FF Mystic Quest. Cheers!

Huzzah! Finally people who agree that the SaGa series is less then mediocre! My friend and I have always disliked the SaGa yet, people persecuted us for saying that. They often touted that the SaGa series had gameplay "supieror" to the FF's. I just scoffed. But to each his/her own. As for FF:MQ, "ROFLCOPTER" and the such. XD

Maybe if I was rich and did not have to go to school and work I'd make it my perogative to beat every RPG I own. But until that day comes, well, I'll be doing it bit by bit. I really should make a list of the games I own PS2 and PSX. >_>

Yeah I'm at the last stage in DQVIII, but finding the motivation to finish it is quite difficult. I will soon. The Saga series is okay. I am forever biased against it. I played thru a couple of the quests in the original and got to Lute. Now his quest is one stage. I didn't know this at the time. So I go to the first and last stage, horribly underleveled. The enemies seemed extremely difficult. I finally get to boss, and I'm stuck in an endless loop of death, because I have no way to exit the stage and heal. I couldn't beat the boss, and no matter how high I leveled, there's no way to heal TP in that stage. So I was left with nothing. I don't remember if you can start a new game with a character in that and keep your original system data. Either way I didn't care. I was done with the game at that point. The quests were repetitive and pointless. Saga Frontier 2 isn't much better from what I've read. It's mod protected, gee it was worth patching to have a backup of it. Oh well, I collect RPG's average and great alike. Yeah I've played Kingdom Hearts Bacon. It seemed pretty cool. I have a backup of it. I don't care for the Disney theme. I think it's probably a decent game. Btw, I downloaded HD Loader .7c just to see if I could get it working. I couldn't at first, but then I rebuilt it and burned it to a CD and it works fine. I might get a HD and Network Adapter in time for obvious reasons. Cheers!

Started Shadow Hearts 3 today, its quite good so far, though IGN are saying it has some pacing issues further on in the game. Its quite funny, as usual, with hints of darkness just starting to creep in. Im headed to Boston, hope i can take a train or something, lol

That reminds me, Ive been seeding this game for like 13 hours now, and for some reason Ive only uploaded 1.18GB! WTF! Im not giving anyone any limits either, and with the Dismal download speeds i got, I thought there would be a lot of leechers. So, what do i do, i know th ban on torrentleech wont come in effect until i download at least 5GB, with a ratio below 0.4, but i still wanna get my ratio up so i wont have high wait times. Theres a few games im gonna want to download in the near future, and i don't wanna get thrown out cos of my low upload speeds. Help would be much appreciated. I've got a 2.2Mb DSL Connection, and im using BitComet 0.62, if any of those details help.

Well 2.2GB's doesn't affect your max upload speed. Chances are you have your upstream bandwidth set to high, and that's killing your seeding. You want to cap your uploads at 80% of your max for best results. That way you'll upload at your max capabilities, without slowing your seeding down. Take a speed test here: http://www.testmy.net Test your upstream and downstream speeds and post the results. Or simply cap your upload at 80% of your max. It's very easy to get around wait times on TL. You need 7+ GB's uploaded and a ratio above .85. That's it. I haven't been subject to wait times for awhile. I didn't get great speeds on torrentleech with Shadow Hearts, a little over 50kB's/sec on average. That was because of the seed to leech ratio. To get best speeds on a torrent wait for the max seed to leech ratio as possible, usually around it's half life.

Well so far, Ive only downloaded 3.48gb, and seeded 3.11gb with a Ratio of 0.894. Basically, that means that When i get a Ratio of about 2.1, I'll have uploaded over 7gb, and I'll be get around wait times. Like I've said countless times, im waiting for Kingdom Hearts II to show up. By having those stats, i wont have to wait for it when it comes out, so i'll get it as quick as possible (as fast as the tracker allows anyway.) I dnt really wanna download anything from now to then, cos it'll just mean more seeding for me, and my upload speeds pretty horrible anyway. Well, u see my case.

Other things. Grandia III, great game. Isnt anyone else playing it here? What other games are peopple interested in? FFXII will come out this Thursday in Japan, that should give this almost dead thread something to talk about. lol Don't think any will pick it up though. Theres too much interaction in an RPG to play through it in Japanese, and we are completists here arent we, so we want to get everything done...

Edit: Ive been seeding for 51 hours now, so im still thinking its slow. Still, I cant do anything about it. If I keep seeding for the next 5-6 days though, i can probably get that ratio up pretty high. laters...

Wow, ive played quite a few RPG's, now that i go to look at it, and I'm only 15... I think i should go do something else now, its like a sickness. Right, Im organising football for tomorrow night, and when i get home i'll play a healthy dose of Grandia III!

Yeah FF3 is on emulator- IMBNES (It might be NES). I don't think you can boot it with Swap Magic CD, because IMBNES was originally designed for PSX. I think you need Breaker Pro to boot it if you swap discs. Dunno, I have a chip, so it's not really a concern. Good call on the Muppet Chip Boobooman, it's a crappy clone. I'll ask around for some modders in the UK. According to SpedMetal (norcalmods.com) this guy in the UK is reputable: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/playstationplace/home.htm If not, you have other options as we discussed. I said to hell with Dragon Quest, I used the FAQ to get the best possible equipment with the alchemy pot and check all the extra stuff that's available at the end of the game. After 160 hours, I can't be bothered to look for all the crap manually. I don't use it to look at layouts of stages or anything, but I did use it to find a couple extras. That's the only thing I've used the FAQ for, it that makes me a cheater, oh well. I want to move on to Nocturne or Tales of Legendia. I've played all the FF games, only beat V, VII, and X. I watched my friend beat IV and VI. Never beat VIII, got too sidetracked with other things in my life at the time. I was playing through it when I got my chipped PS2 back, but now I have 180 PS2 games at my disposal as well, so it got pushed to the side once again. Cheers!

Almost all the FF games were released in the US bundled together for PSX/PS2. I and II were released as FF Origins. FF Anthology was V and VI. One thing that always got my goat was that the PAL version FF Anthology was released with IV and V. I always liked IV better than VI. Of course in this day and age of modchips and backups, it doesn't matter anyway *wink wink*. Cheers!

BaconX: Hells yeah SMRPG rocks! When I played that on my friends SNES, I was so stoked. It's still pretty good today. There's that new PaperMario RPG on GCN too, I heard that's awesome too. Never personally played it yet though.

Tokijin: I'm starting to feel anxious about DQVIII as well. I made a vow about a year ago to finish any RPG I start, because I tended to beat them 3/4's then jump to my newest RPG flavor of the month. I love DQVIII but I want to move on to the other RPGs I have. ARGHH!

Poll: I've played 1-11, not counting FFX-2. If I'm not mistaken I believe FF3 was supposed to be realesed on the GBA sometime soon out in the West finally. But yeah, I've seriously beaten very few of them. I think IV, VI, VII and that's about it. When I was a little tyke, I remember trying to beat FF1. I don't know HOW I beat DQI, but not FF1 to this day. It confuses the hell outta me. But now my FF1 Cart's battery died, and I've been meaning to buy that darn security bit so I can replace it. And I refuse to beat it on another medium until I beat it via my childhood cartridge. >_>

Yeah I was just reminiscing about FFV, unappreciated, not the jewel of the series, but definitely my fav. I have a weakness for unappreciated games. That's definitely one of the all time greats not a ton of FF buffs are crazy about. Something about the game just made it more than the some of its parts. I loved the job system, and it was the first game in the series to include Omega (much harder in FFV than in other versions, some people say he's the hardest boss in any FF game, dunno never fought pennance). It wasn't terribly difficult, though the enemies in the final section of the last stage could wipe you out at any level. It was a great game, if you like older games and haven't played that one, shame on you. Check it out! I'm going to kick the crap out of Rhapthorne in DQVIII.

Spoiler Alert!!!

After you beat the game, there's the option to take on harder bosses and get really good items in a side quest called the Dragovian trials. There's seven bosses (all very hard) and seven items. I dunno if I'm going to bother, I'm ready to finish it. Most of the items are the best stuff in the game for the hero. The bosses are a series of Dragons, each getting progressively harder. Anyway just thought some of you playing DQVIII that are almost through with would want a heads up. This isn't a terrible spoiler, you get the option to save after the ending, that's a dead giveaway that there's stuff that opens it up after you beat it. Cheers!

I played FFV, but I never really got into it that much. I didn't hate it, just didn't spark my interest right away so I never got around to playing it. (Did like Boco the Chocobo though, heh)

However, that's how many RPGs I like today started. Sometimes it just takes me awhile to accept a RPG for it's selfworth. And on a side note, one day I plan to beat all the FF's I own. It's all a part of my genormous RPGs to Beat List. =P

Hmm... Ive beat FFIV, FFVI, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, dont know how i did it. Even managed to leak 100% outta FFX-2 (needed the FAQ though, i only got to 94% by myself, Im crap, i know) Ive beat most of the games i won, since i dont own many (about 60) and i used to have an awful lot of time in my earlier school years. I don't think using FAQ's is cheating. I use them quite alot for finding out about EXTRA sidequests i could do. I have one on DQVIII which im constantly checking. FFVI was released in the UK with a Demo of FFX.

So many Good RPG's to finish, but when KHII arrives, I'll put everything to the side and play til its finished, And that includes all sidequests.

Speaking of FF, FFXII Jap was uploaded Torrentleech.org today. That probably means it'll be uploaded to other private trackers asap. I'm not in a terrible rush to download it, the Seed-to-Leech ratio is around 1:3. That means you'll get very average speeds. If you must have it, go ahead, otherwise wait til there's a 2:1 Seed-to-Leech ratio to get your max download speeds. Also Metal Gear Solid 3: Substance was just uploaded to TL, there's only 1 seeder, wait on that one as well. Patience is a virtue! Cheers!
