@lebb
Set Recode to DVD-9 and use a dual layer. Make sure both audios show up in Recode.

I have successfully ripped Live Free Or Die Hard with both dvdfab hd decrypter 4.0.1.2 and Ripit4me and burned
it with latest version of dvdshrink. The problem is the movie pauses at different parts which is very annoying. I have tried both whole disc and movie only and both do the same. I even tried to clean it up with vobblanker when a window pops up and says the cells have ILV's in it which can cause pauses. Question is how do I fix this?

@z28guy
Ddi you try not running it thru vobblanker? vobblanker or fixvts isn't really needed for this one.
This one doesn't have much on it os here's 2 other suggestions:
Use Shrink by it;s lonesome.
Or rip w/ DVD Decrypter 1st then open those files in Shrink.

Dvd Shrink does not burn, so it would be nice to know what program you are using to burn, leading to posting a burn log, maybe telling us what kind of blank media you are using?

Not a problem - give it a go and let us know.
If not soup1 brings up a good point so post back that info too.

Can't say I had any problems w/ this one using AnyDVD and CloneDVD so that's another option. Burning on Taiyo's. Not free but had a 21 day free trial.

I did use recode for this disc but I don't see 2 different audio streams in recode....I was going to try to burn it thru recode setting the target size at dvd9 but I don't want to waste a disc...It'sfunny that I can't find 2 different audio streams.Is this normal???

Not all have 2 or more audio streams but they at least have one :)
Try playing both titles in Recode (preview screen) just to make sure there is sound.
Make sure the audio is checked too - Nero will 'uncheck' what it thinks are unneeded audios but usually these are just the foreign ones.

Take the disc that didn't have sound and try playing it in another player or the pc and see if it has sound - might be a dvd player thing.
Though it has me stumped on why - esp. when compressed ok.

For me the problem is that there is not 2 different versions of the movie listed in recode...Only one version is listed...I'm stumped..When I used recode to do the movie on a RW it did it OK....with both versions and both having sound...altho compression was 54%...This is a problem..Why won't this work with a double layer burn??

It should still show - dual layer really shouldn't make a diff.
See if for someone reason the other version is showing under extras.

Try this - rip the movie DVD Decrypter in iso mode. Then burn the .mds file w/ ImgBurn.
Even though decrypter is no longer updated, for movies that it can handle, this is my preferred method.

No single layer is fine too - just a lot of compression on this since the dvd has the theatrial and unrated version on it.

I've just about given up with Live Free or Die Hard....I can't get sound on the unrated version....In Nero, I used recode but I don't get a menu to choose between the unrated ot theatrical version when I try to preview the movie...When I manually click on the VTS files in the directory they are stored in I get the menu that lets me choose the unrated version and I get sound...But it won't burn the sound on the unrated version when I burn to a double layer disc...Looks like this disc is screwed up..Damn....Is there that much of a difference between the unrated and rated versions???

From what I could remember no - I saw it in the theater and watched the unrated version.
The only diff was Bruce Willis trademark Yippee Yaaaa (sp) MF - unrated version had this - theater version cut the mf out.

OK- thanx for the help...If you or anyone can come up some type of workaround this problem I'd appreciate it....still have the files saved an a drive as I'm hoping I can get sound on the unrated version...Hearing Bruce Willis with an MF here and there would be cool...:)

I have the movie saved on a hard disk...Do you think burning it with clone dvd instead of nero 7 would make a difference and I would get sound on the unrated version??? I need my unrated version..

I'd give it a shot. I used the same combo but on a single layer and had sound on the unrated.

Worst case do movie only in Recode - pick the unrated - and burn to a single layer.
