I downloaded the apache3 to try to get this started. I have the 6.gig iso. When I dblclick the apache3.exe it does an update and a loader.exe file appears in the folder. A quick dos screen appeared and then nothing else happens. I tried dragging the iso onto the apache3.exe as well and now I am getting that it's not a win32 application. Even when just dblclicking the apache3.exe file. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong at this point please.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT:
Nevermind, I must have had a bad dl. I found another dl of it and it's now working.

Since I'm not an expert on this stuff, I wanted to get an second option before going ahead with actual burning.
On the "Sectors" is it just picking up the first layer of the game even though its showing the actual size in "Size:"
I went ahead and did a test burning and the
noticed something odd in the log.
I 15:48:07 Writing Image... (LBA: 0 - 3402207)
I 15:48:07 Writing Layer 0... (LBA: 0 - 2092895)
I 16:01:00 Writing Layer 1... (LBA: 2092896 - 3402207)
Is it just me or is the size somehow screwed up?
Anyway, apologies for the long and messy post.

No it looks correct. It is showing total sectors and total size.
It will burn first layer, then the second layer after.
It should burn fine.

uh yea i dont know if this is against TOS, but if it is maybe just tell me and i delete or edit the bad parts if there is any, but here it goes... i looked for useless on isohunt, and it has no seeds and no leachers, so maybe if ya had it would you be so kind as to seed for a week or two :D i cant rebuild a game worth crap adding all the patches and all that, and i heard this torrent had all the movies and everything in tact, and i have the GOW2 torrent where the movies look like a horrible mess, and i dont want that on rogue galaxy lol.
so yea a little help plz ?

in fact i have checked 3 separate USELESS rogue galaxy torrents and none of them have seeds or leechers, one i checked from aforementioned site and another 2 from an index site, they all have different trackers and seem to be diff releases otherwise they usually just combine and add the trackers to one torrent, but not so here.
its kinda weird since usually you would see at least leechers there, usually this is a sign that the torrent doesnt work or there is a better release that works out there.
i really wanna finish this game so yea any help would be great, thanks.

Hi, I own the original NTSC rogue galaxy and wanted to play on my PAL ps2 with swap magic 3.6
I did the ripkit stuff, and all worked correctly, but one thing. The game is really skippy. When loading (loading the game, or before game events), and expecially when entering/exiting battles, and opening the main menu. It's really slow, takes much time for, example, the after-battle screen to appear. Also the music stops for a few seconds. I hear the ps2 drive loading like crazy.
I used a tayo yuden disc and burned at 1x with DVD decrypter.
What could have I done wrong?

Well thats a good quality disk you burned it one, I am wondering if perhaps you burned it too slow.Thats my guess.
I usually burn all games at 4X speed. What size was your ISO when done.

thanks for the answer. The iso after the ripkit process is 4,33 GB (4.658.397.184 byte). It seems right to me.. I still wonder what's wrong..

Yes the size is good. How does the original play on your PAL PS2.Does your PS2 have a modchip or are you using Swap Magic (what version)?
Otherwise we are back to the speed you burned at. You may have to try burning it at 4x and see how it plays. Also some games do take a lot of loading time or are slow at loading and you can hear the PS2 working. Some actually play better off a hard drive than they do the DVD.

I would use my original if I could. It's a DVD9 (NTSC) and I have no modchip, and swapmagic 3.6 doesn't read DVD9.
I'll try to burn a copy at 4x and see if something changes. But the long loading times and skippy game isn't normal, I've played the original on a friend modchipped ps2 and works great.
Thanks anyway, I'll try and let you know.

Actually you don't need a modchip to play original games, but I think I know where your coming from so no matter.
Your right it shouldnt be skipping and such. Ok let us know if the different burn speed helps you out and as for how NTSC plays on PAL units with Swap Magic 3.6 I have no idea. I know I have played PAL on my NTSC with SM 3.8 and don't like it. Only the multiversions play ok for me anyway.

What could have I done wrong?
OK, two questions.
1) is the ripkit region specific? Because if it IS, then you'd have to own the same version game as the ripkit. Unless both games are the exact same size (looking at an .ISO file from an original game, not something dL from teh internutt)
2) What's the minimum speed your burner says it can burn at? In DVD Decrypter, it will tell you the min supported speed of the media. Find the webpage for your DVD burner, and make sure you don't try to burn slower than that. Not all burners support 1X. Mine supports 2X or higher. When i burned at 1X, the game was very skippy. It was Magna Carta: Tears of Blood for NTSC region.

Hey, I made a backup of the original game, burning it onto a Dual layer DVD and it still froze! Would it work if I hired out the game, got past the bit that it freezes on and then saved, and then used my backup gain?

Hey Guys, Ive only jsut signed but ive been using these boards for advice for a while now, keep up the good work! =D
Anyway I was wondering, If I backup and play Rogue Galaxy onto my HD exactly how I did with GOW2 will it work?
The method I used was ripped with DVD Decrypter, WinHiip to transfer to HD, SwapMagic 3.6 to boot HDADvance 3.0 off dvd-r, then booted HDLForGOW2 from the harddrive and finally booted GOW2. Worked perfectly, which is a good job seeing as my ps2 refuses to read the disc.
Anyhow, will this same method work with Rogue Galaxy?

Put the dvd in my playstation, but it won't work
It says reading disc and then it stops.
My computer can burn dvd dual layer so I know that is not the problem.
But maybe the DVD, it's from verbatim, don't know if anyone knows it.

DL verbatim +R, and I don't know what kinda chip my playstation 2 uses, it's called Toxic I think, and I enabled the chip to support DVD DL +R.
I read that you shouldn't burn lower than the minimum of your dvd burner, I've always burned at 1x, but my computer is kinda new it's like a half year old, and I think the minimum of my burner is 2X, I don't know but someone said u could look it up on the net, could someone be so kindly to maybe post the site where i can look it up.
anyway feedback pls XD
