It doesnt work because you using an app that isnt capable of burning an image file....use Nero Burning Rom, DVD Decrypter, or imgburn....not start smart lol.....and to make the iso not look like a rar, open WinRAR, go to options-settings-integration, and uncheck the iso box. And yes, the uploader of the iso used psycho's kit to rip the original DVD9, so it should work perfectly.

Next up, God of War 2 :p

so, does that mean we dont have to use the rogue galaxy mvi2pss decrypter tool? I downloaded it, but I dont know how to use it. Can some one shed some light? Also, how do I set Alcohol 120% to booktype DVD-ROM? I appreciate any and all help. thanks in advance!

Xanthyon, can you tell me how you used Alcohol 120%? is there a setting you have to change for the "booktype DVD-ROM" I have it but dont use it often and am looking for options, but I wasnt able to find this setting anywhere. Thanks for the assist.

Read the Guide for Using Nero/Alcohol booktyping by Tokijin(?). That should help. Anyway, go to file>option>recording and check the box that says "Book Type DVD+R/DVD-R.......as DVD-ROM".

Then Burn the iso (mine's 4.33 gig from demonoid) at 4x and voila.

Cheers

Thanks, for the assist, but, I went to file, options, recording and there isnt an option for selecting booktype, the version I have is 1.9.2(build 1705) this was for Alcohol 120% right? Also, would you have the thread for that guide, thanks again!

can someone help? I've been trying to back up rogue Galaxy for the longest and have yet to get it to work! I've got all the programs that I need, I've used Apache3 to extract both layers, I've used psychospacefish ripkit and I still cant get it to work. I downloaded gnie's, rogue galaxy mvi2pss decrypter tool, but dont know how to use it and havent gotten any reply's as to how either. So, I'm kinda stuck here, I dont want to keep making coasters either, it's getting expensive! I'm using a flip top and swapMagic3 coder version 3.8. Any assist will be greatly appreciated!

I have a problem, too. I extracted everything from both layers of the ISO, ran the bat file, and it seemed everything was going fine, until it ran gnie's DVD IML2ISO tool. It gets to 60% then says "ISO rebuilding complete!" but leaves me a 2.62 GB file. What happened?

sounds like you didnt extract both layers of the 6.28 ISO. Did you use apache3? When I used apache2 I had a problem even though I did extract both layers manually. Apache3 does both layers automatically. try that, it might help, if you go back some pages in this thread, I believe someone posted the download site for Apache3. Hope it helps.

Yeah, actually, that WAS the problem. I used a different prog before, but when I used Apache 3 it did the trick. Great program, love it.

Just a question:
The ONLY thing removed is the CREDITS, right? I mean, I can still enjoy the ending, right?

hi everyone, congratulations to all those who were able to succesfully burn the ripped RG... unfourtunetely im not one of them
=(...
im having a problem, i downloaded a full version of rogue galaxy with bitt0rr3nt , i extracted both layers with apache3 (i think its version 1.0.0.1) into the rip folder, executed roguerip (i had to answer y/n in certain moment during the process, i ansewered yes and the program continued normally i think), then the gdvd4-iml2iso window pops out, i select rogue.iml and click start, when the program gets to 100% i get a iso called "rogue" that is 4.194.304 kb big (is this normal?).
i tried to burn the game three times and failed everytime >.<
first i burned with Nero burning room (version 6) and when i put the cd on my ps2 a black screen appeared and it said "el disco no se puede reproducir" (cd cannot be reproduced). then i tried Alcohol 120% and when i put the cd i got a screen where i have to choose between memory card and the cd, but when i chose the cd nothing happens. then i tried dvddecrypter and got the same results as with Alcohol 120%. by the way i have a chipped PS2 (matrix infinity v. 1.88)
what i should i do? i read all the posts but still cant find the answer to my problem. if it's not much to ask could someone put a step by step guide for burning the game or help me with the setting for the correct burn of the dvd? i would be very grateful if somebody could help me
Thanks in advance

Thank you in Advance :D!!

Dunno if the solution has been posted yet but...

I bought the Original version of Rogue Galaxy, ripped the dual layer iso from there (about 6GB) and put it onto my hard drive through the ethernet port. The game still seems to be crashing at Chapter 7 for me... Any ideas?

Are you sure both layers copied to your hard drive.

I havent done this myself, but this how it was said on hdloader.net:

hook up your ps2 hdd to your pc (on the slave setting) and use DVD Decrypter to rip the ISO, and WinHIIP to transfer it onto the hdd since windows will not display it.

Mine works great. I used the Rogue Ripkit and it plays flawlessly with SM 3.8.

If you back up your DVD9 and use the DVD5 ripkit it will play fine. Many thanks to the fine people who worked on and created it. I posted link above for that kit.
