fix didnt work for me i tried it with my DVD9 iso of rogue galaxy i go playstation logo on booting then nothing else i suspect what might have caused this to happen is the fact i earlier tried to patch my iso with the toxic dual layer patcher so i am redownloading DVD9 iso and will try again from scratch and see if that works

You could redownload it or just change the IOPRP300 with another one, with the iso opened in Apache, then try the patch and burn again.

If it works, saves time redownloading the whole ISO again.

i just checked the playstation webpage & its giving only one SCUS#. When a game is 2 discs, each disc gets its own SCUS/SLUS#. Xenosaga 2 had 2 discs & each one had its own #. But if God of War2 is dual layer we won't know until it comes out!

hey the rar file works! thanks mega123 i applied it to the bigger ISO (had d/l the smaller one first & fell for the $ony trap) & then used Psychospacefish kit. so yeah they simply ripped the credits & most everything else is there. I don't think $ony did this on purpose; the teleporters let you go wherever you want in the game. so to anyone who doesn't use this patch & wants to keep their burned DVD, remember that the teleporters going before chp 7 & after chp 7 are what cause the game to crash.
With a DVD5 with unnecessary files ripped out that won't be a problem anymore :) :)

That's right, but if you read all the posts here, you will notice that many (and i really mean MANY) people dont have a clue about ripping, patching, and that kind of edited by ddp. So, this people will not give a edited by ddp about the thanks to anyone... They will leech this release like crazy.
And there are also many people with very useful skills that will never release a home-over-cooked-iso to this community, and now they are claiming that USELESS dont say "thanks" to some individuals. Fact: you and me recognize the effort of physcofish and many others but also enjoy fine releases like the original DVD9 and this one... So, the message is: Learn to rip. If you cant, leech and shut the edited by ddp.
Ps: Sorry about my language but i'm very pissed off.

Errr reported

You have no idea what you are talking about. I spent many days ripping this game, with no luck to get everything to work and I am by no means a noob. Psycho is a PROGRAMMER, he was able to merge all big files (data0_0/0_1 and data1_0/1_1). After he successfully did that, he edited the header info to make insectron/factory work. New iso was a bit large, so he relinked a mvi.

Most ordinary people couldnt do that, so quit with your crying, as you did not contribute anything to this project and have no room to be angry. Although I couldnt make a successful rip, psycho is a kind enough person to credit me for supplying my experience...more than USELESS can say. Because of this I can talk, as some may know (mega for sure) that I spent many hours and dvd's for the sake of others.

I tried to use the Rip Kit on a Full DVD9 of Rogue Galaxy. The game DOES work but there is a problem.

Right before the cutscenes you usually walk a bit automatically before they start. The thing is now i walk for ever automatically and the cut scene doesnt start. What did i do wrong/

Finally worked and without patching!
I got a DVD+R-DL RICOHJPN-D01-067 disc, loaded ISO onto DVD Decrypter, changed book type to DVD-ROM and burned at 2.4x using SAO.

My PS2 SCPH 30000 uses the old messiah 2 modchip and the game loaded smoothly but loading speed is better on DVD5.

Notes:
I use a NEC 2500 that is firmware hacked to Liggy's NEC 2510 bitsetting firmware 2.0A.

Read speeds for a DVD9 on PS2 wont be better then a DVD5.

Hello, can anyone help? I downloaded the rogue galaxy ripkit and have tried it twice! Once I get to the burning rebuilt ISO, I get an I/O error once the burn gets to about 93%! Can anyone help me get this accomplished without creating any more coasters? Thanks in advance for the assist.

Explain what you are doing (how you are extracting, the new iso size, etc) and then perhaps we can help...just saying you are getting errors doesnt really help much.

Ok, I created the ISO from the dvd with dvd decryptor which was 6.48 gigs I beleive. Then I used Apache2 to extract both layers into the ripkit folder. Following the instructions, it says to open the .batch file. it goes through a dos window and after a bit, another program opens that requires you to open the .iml file included in the ripkit. once the rebuilt ISO file is done, its 4.59 gigs. I use dvd decryptor again to burn the rebuilt ISO and I keep ending up with errors before the DVD is completed burning. I tried to use them anyway on my PS2 using swapmagic and of course it didnt work. Is there a better way to do this or a better ripkit to use? I used a similar process for God of War and I was a first time GO! So what gives with this one? Thanks for any advice and assistance in advance.

Well obviously it wont burn since your iso is WAYYYY oversize. Im pretty sure apache 2 is the problem. Use apache 3, which you can here http://rapidshare.com/files/15250211/tools.rar. Load the iso, right click and hit extract all (to a new folder), then move all the extracted files to the rip folder. Run the kit again, and the iso should be 4.33-4.34 gigs. Im guessing since you had to manually extract both layers in apache 2 something weird happened. Try with apache 3 and then report back!
