You can't do this. -R DL doesn't allow bitsetting.

already tried plan c it seems my version of Nero makes no mention of change booktype when i click on recorder my ver is 7 summit dont know exact number but i am aware that it should be a new enough version to do this anyway ive proceeded with a plan Di have upgraded the firmware on my writer with a hacked one which is supposed to have auto bitsetting which i think means that dvds will burn as dvd-roms not dvd-dl hopefully am currently attempting a burn will let you know how it goes

nope no joy got red screen of death i guess either my pioneer will never be able to burn ps2 dvd9s or possibly my ps2 mod may not be up to job i thought it might have been (couldnt honestly remember with mod went in it but it is an old one but it managed to play a DVD9 original so i figured maybe a patched back-up would work also)

if anyone in the interest of research who has managed to succesfully burn and play this beast wishes to test out my effort please get in touch as i will mail the disc to anyone in the uk to see whether it works on thier ps2 or not

Look at this image (Nero VERSION 7.5.1.1):

To the lower left side of the screen, its an option called "Configuracion de Tipo de libro" that is the Spanish for "Book type config". There you can change the option to DVD-ROM. Try this and let us know :)

Just use cd/dvd speed then go to extra, then bitsetting and change it,this is permanent I think and the change works even with other programs(at least with me),if you have Nero 7 it should be in the tools folder. Also alcohool 120% works for this too,in the options theres a tab for it.

i found that screen on Nero cd/dvd speed only where it says new setting mine is already set to DVD-rom and greyed out and cannot be changed which is what the firmware ive downloaded is supposed to do i.e auto bitsetting

1. Is any one aware if my Pioneer DVR-111D 1.29 will be able to burn this game, I know the drive is a DL burner, but I?m not so sure about the ?bit settings/booktype(are these the same thing?)? deal.
2. Can is use the program ?ImgBurn? instead of ?Decrypter??

Thanks for any replies =).

Hello Gurm, thank you for your reply. It seems I made a mistake, I didn?t mean ?R DL disks, I meant +R DL disks. So what is the ?bitsetting? about? Does it change the drive into a DVD-ROM? Why is that important?

Thanks =)

For PS2, DVD-ROM is the most "compatible" mode that you can have for your ps2 games backups. For example, this release of Rogue Galaxy (DL) requires that you change to DVD-ROM to avoid ROD (Red Screen of Death)

just trying to get a clear idea. im not sure what all the technical data was about i was just wondering exactly how far someone has gotten in splitting the game down? i use Swap Magic so i have to wait till someone figures it out. if somebody has a working copy, even if all the movies are gone(sucks but oh well) i would love it if you could tell me a little more about how to actually burn the dvds since i am so new to this. thank you for any help you may give me.

Hey

First i have to thank svtstang and hursty for the time they have been giving this game.

But i have tried all of there ideas and nothing works (spendt alote of dvds). But i tried mancerg little guide of ToxicDualLayerPatcher and guess what now i`m playing chapter 8 no problem so far thx mancerg. And i didnt even get the burner to work right with that lite-on stuff so i tried just to burn my verbatim DVD+R DL in alc120% with the toxic iso (6,49gb) and now im am wery happy. And the best part all movies and stuff works.

So thanks for that.

hello, i want to burn rouge galaxy to dual layer but i can't seem to find any decent media that is not to expensive, i'm from the UK and i have tried svp but all their decent stuff is sold out, the Verbatim are too expensive, anyone know any other decent website where i can buy some dual layers? i have a Benq DVD burner, i only need a pack of 10 not 25 :( also i have a matrix infinity modchip it supports dual layer already, do i really need the toxic patch?

You can rebuild the 6 gig image and get one about 3.5 that will fit to a standard dvd.

The programs you need are $ony cdvd gen and .iml 2 .iso

try going hxxp://www.sksapps.com/index.php?page=mis.html
here for links and more ins

i don't want to do this because the game won't load properly. (chapter 7) and i have Nero i don't need additional software.

Yes dual layer DVD's are indeed very expensive, but you could always do the breakup that was mentioned before, so basicly play the game using 2 DVD+R, no dual layer.

no idea how to separate the two layers, i rather have the game in one piece anyway, and yes dual layer media is very expensive, i've managed to find some decent media for cheap, i just hope they work good, i need to buy dual layers as god of war II is coming out soon...

first disc would be dual layer and then second disc will have extras single layer.
