Hey svtstang, check this out! I used Apache 3 and got some what better results. I ended up with a rebuilt ISO of 4.33gigs. I burned at 1x and tried it with swap magic and I got crap! It didnt load. I got the screen to chose between memory card and disc. NOW, I also have a DSM lite moded PS2 and it loaded on that one! Now how far I can get with it is the question, because I havent had the time to play it. Why wont it work with the swap magic discs? Once again, thanks for your time and expertice!

It should work with swap magic (actually IT WILL, i use swap magic.) The TOC size of swap magic 3.6 is like 4.36 gigs, so it works perfectly. If it doesnt work for you, use dvdloader after swap magic, then give it a go. But seeing as you have a chipped ps2, who cares!!! Congrats on getting it working, have fun buddy :)

Thanks yet again svtstang. Now, the question is what is DVDloader and when can I get it? I've never used. I've never really had these kinds of issues before. So, is it something to do before the game is loaded? Menu driven? ISO. Thanks again for the education. Everything helps!

Just extract and burn with Nero. This is actually zoneloader, same concept just a bit better. All you do is load swap magic, then instead of loading a game you load the zoneloader dvd. After that you load the game.
BTW what version swap magic are you using??? And in the future I would recommend buring at a higher rate of speed, preferably 1/2 the disks rated speed. Burning too slow is just as bad as burning too fast.

Ok, so here's where I'm at. I downloaded and burned(so I thought) zoneloader. I tried to load it and it wouldnt work. I kept getting a message saying that it was not"a valid ps2 disc". Did I burn it wrong? I downloaded it and used WinRAR to extract it. Then I used Nero to burn it. when I extracted it, there were 2 files, a .iso and another that I cant remember the file extension. I dragged and dropped both files and burned it using Nero. Oh, I have version 3.3 of swapmagic. Maybe I need to just invest in the new version of SM? anyway, until then, what do you think went wrong with the ZL burn? thanks again.

- So the only way that this game to work is to rip DVD9 to DVD 5, am i right?
- i heard i can burn the 6.48gb ISO (rip from original) and use toxic patch to back it up in DVD+R DL. I tried it but the patcher said
Searching: Found IOPRP300.IMG
Patching: Failed!!
is there anyway to solve this error?

svtstang, question, when I extracted zoneloader dvd from the .rar, I ended up with two files, a .iso and a .nfo, when I used Nero to burn it, I dragged and dropped both files and burned it. It didnt work, I got a "not a valid ps2 disc" did I do something wrong? Was I supposed to burn just the .iso? Thanks yet again!

Yes you did.Burn the iso as an image not as data.I guess that is what you did.If you can get DVD Decrypter and bur it with it.Very easy just install open it and go to mode>iso>write the select the iso in source and burn in 4x.Hope it helps.

Can someone who has burned the game successfully PLEASE post an in-depth step-by-step guide on how to get it working for noobs like me? It's my first time doing this and I'm kinda lost with the very short readme by psychospacefish.
Okay, the files that I have are
rogue.iso ->4.33 GB
Apache3 Preview
CD-DVD Gen 2.0
iml2iso
RG1DVD5 files from psychospacefish
I've read most of the posts regarding this and I'm still lost. Do i need other tools like DVD Decrypter?
Thank you to everyone who are willing to guide me in burning my 1st game ever.
EDIT: I've gotten a friend who knows how to burn to come to my place later, so I dont think I'd need the guide. But for those who wants to write one for the benefit of other users, please go ahead and help each other in this great community. Once again, thank you.

If I downloaded a whole rogue.iso file from torrent, do I still need to follow psychospacefish instructions or can I burn the iso to a dvd straight away?

if you download the 6.48GB rogue galaxy game, tahn jsut burn it on a DVD+R DL disk, but than i thiunk you need some kind of toxipatch thingy, i dont know what toxi patch is, but it dose something, never used it before, but anyway, if you dont have
DVD+R DL than yes follow phycofish method.
by the way you need a DVD+R DL burner to burn DVD+R DL disks.
DVD+R DL = about 7 to 9 GB i think its 8.7 but not sure, but thats what it is.
im telling you this caue you sound like a noob, lol.

thanks to all of you that work hard and help folks that are technically challenged like me! especially SvtStang and Gnie now I have a few issue, sorry to sound like such a dweeb. first, I've made about 10 coaster trying to burn that zoneloader! I dont know what's up with that. I've used, Nero,alcohol,decryptor and they all DONT work. I'm using SM 3.3 once I swith disks to the ZL it says"not a valid ps2 disc" Is there a way to send one of you guys what I've extracted so you can see? NOw the next is with the mvi rip that Gnie has so graciously advised us of. How do you sue it? there wasnt a walk through file with the .rar? Do you use it in conjunction with, or instead of the previous rip? Once again thanks for all your hard work, atleast from me it's appreciated.

Guys, need help with the rip here.
Ok here's what I did.
1. Extracted all the files from rogue.iso (4.33 GB) and put it in same folder as ripkit
2. Run roguerip.bat
Everything went smoothly until the part where the Patching SLUS, HD6 files comes. They said that binblock/patchvalidation failed. An on-screen prompt asked me to continue y/n
What should I do?

Gnie or Svtstang can either of you shed some light on how to use the rogue galaxy mvi2pss decrypter tool that? I'm not too sure of what to put in the fields. Are they the movie folders or each individual file? that would be ALOT of files. Sorry to sound so dense, but I'm really trying to DE-noob-a-fy myself, with ya'lls help of course. thanks again.

I have the 6.48 gb file and dvd 9 burner but it won't burn (halfway it shows error)
Can this file be burned properly on DVD9?
If it can can someone please post me a link to how to do it?

Actually, I got the 3.14gb version from a vendor in the first place. I always get copies of games from him. You have no idea how freaking hard is to find a original PS2 game here. Sony gave up my country.
Anyway, then it can't work. So yeah, I went and download the torrent from Demonoid.com. The title of the torrent is "Rogue Galaxy DVD5 One DVD" Its the 4.33gb version.
So after downloading the file, i burned the ISO file which is a .rar file, using Nero Start Smart as a image. I think I burned it in 8x, Since I can't chose 4x and lowest is 6x. And after that I tried it on my PS2, which has a mod chip, but I have no idea what is it as I bought my PS2 4 years ago. I have the same problem with skorpeo. Also, I wonder if I burned it at a too high speed, cause I hear alot of screeching sound. Or do I need Swap Magic? I've never heard of it before.
Man, I AM CONFUSED. XD

DUDE! I've got the same file as yours, from demonoid. Dont bother following psychospacefish instructions, just burn that file straightaway w/o touching anything. I used Alcohol120% at 4x speed with booktype DVD-ROM and it WORKED. On Chpt 8 w/ insectron and factory fully functional. HAIL PSYCHO!! Thanks to Gnie, Svtstang and others who helped in one way or another of course.
