Do you have any other cheat devices that you could use?
Final Fantasy X-2
Gameshark version 5 Codes
(M)
7602D940 00000000
94C497AC B5260F5C
Does that (M) work for you? That's the official (M) code listed on the gameshark website.
The problem is with the Max HP code, not the (M) right?
I asked around and someone suggested you try these codes. I'm not sure if they will work because I think the gs2v5 needs to have the encrypted game id data in each code like ar max does. But, try it anyway.
(M) Must Be On
90321648 0C0C8554
(M) Must Be On (Alt.)
F032165C 0032165F
Max HP
203748D4 0001869F
Full HP
203748CC 0001869F
Max MP (Try both)
203748D8 0001869F
Full MP (Try Both)
203748D0 0001869F

GS is the only one I have.
As for the codes, I'm not certain if it's just the (M) or both.
Seems I can highlight the name on the alphabetical listing screen but when I go right on the "D" pad and attempt to highlight the name where the cheat is listed, that's where the error comes up. If I go to the next screen where both the (M) codes and the HP code is/are listed, neither of them will highlight.
Perhaps I'm just not entering the names and or codes in the proper place. As I originally mentioned, I'm following the instructions I got directly from the GS site on how to do this.
Then again, perhaps the original codes I gave you are not valid?
Just found them somewhere on some site. (?)
Thanks again for sticking with this. :)

By the time I posted this, you had added the "edit" to yours. I'll give those a shot and get back ASAP.

i didn't use the codes you gave me.
The max hp code was converted from codebreaker and the (M) I gave you was the one from the gameshark website.

Howdy again!
The last set you gave me do nothing in that I don't even get an error message. I experienced the same thing when I attempted to add codes that were probably made for an earlier version of GS.
As for the orginal (M) codes you gave me, (the 2 lines) from what I see happening it appears they are good, it's just the Max HP code that isn't recognized.
The disk has an option to max out at 9,999 but I can do that by just leveling up, I don't need a cheat code.
It's the 99,999 that would be sweet! :D According to the codes I originally posted, they are supposed to work but again on a different version than 5 I suppose.
Basically and to be as honest as the proverbial day is long, what I know about entering "user" codes using the GS could be fit on the head of (hate to use two in one paragraph however) a proverbial pin! ;)

I just got a hold of the gameshark with media player and tested it with the codes in the GTA San Andreas code database.
http://www.codemasters-project.net/members/Skiller/Gta/GtaSacodes.html
I enetered the (M) code and Infinite Health code
(M)
Gameshark/Xp
Media/Broadband
760CF590 00000000
98495ACF 789CFB15
Infinite Health
202A9B38 AC610580
202A9B30 3C01447A
202A9B3C 240303E8
Everything entered okay without any errors, but when I started the game, I was shot and killed. Looks like the media player needs the encrypted top line. Until someone can figure out how to encrypt the top line, we can't convert to gs2v5.

Thanks for all your help. :)
I'll check in here from time to time to see if someone perhaps will come up with what you suggest.
Meanwhile, any chance you know what version of GS the codes I have will work on?
I'll simply hunt around for said version and pick one up.
Thanks again,
Have a great evening! :)

Your best bet is to buy a codebreaker. They always have the best codes, and they post them faster than any other cheat device. Plus, you can convert the other formats to codebreaker with no problem.
I would recommend buying a codebreaker v8+. It's around $20. You can buy a pendrive (for as little as $10), download the codes to it, and transfer it to your memory card, so you no longer have to type in codes. You can also download gamesaves and transfer that to your memory card.

Thanks again for your ongoing help.
I did a bit of searching and found that v8.1 for the PS2 is available from a rather well known very large department type store for $17.86.
I also noted that v9.0 and v9.1 are also available from other retailers.
They however run closer to $30
If as you suggest v8.1 will be more than sufficient to get the job done as it were, then there's not much point in getting the newer version. Or would it be to my advantage to go with the 9.1?
Until you mentioned it, I wasn't even aware it existed. :D

CB v8.1 will be fine for you. The newer version have support for a ps2 hard drive. Plus I know that v9.2 (not sure about 9.1) cannot be copied and played using a modchip.
What I use is cbv9.0. I have made a copy of it, and I use the cd-r copy of codebreaker and use codes on my DVD-R copies of my games.
If that doesn't apply to you, 8.1 will be fine. It will have an outdated codelist, but you can very easily update it using a pendrive.
I use a lexar jumpdrive and it works great. The codelists and gamesaves are small files, so a big jumpdrive isn't needed. I use a 128 MB jumpdrive.
Here's a 256 MB lexar jumpdrive

Well cbv7+ have an encryption where certain chips can only read them in sleep mode. In other words, some chips can only read an original codebreaker and put codes on original games.
Personally, I use a cd-r backup of codebreaker v9.0 on a dms3 chip with flash 2.4b7. That works for me.
Here is a compatibility list:

The pen drive of which you speak, if HS is required for downloads then that would be a problem.
As with GS some form of HS is required to download codes or updates.
I live out in the country, wayyyyyy out in the country :D and the only thing available out here until perhaps early summer is dial up. So I've never been able to properly check what might be available from GS.
With that in mind, do you still think v8+ is good enough or should I not take a chance and go with 9 or 9.1?

The day1 files (cheat codes) are very small files. They are only a few kb in size. The game saves are bigger. I've seen them as high as 300kb. A high speed connection is not needed.
Even with dialup, you can download the day 1 files in a matter of seconds.
The newer versions have more features, but if you don't need them, v8.1 will be fine.

This may read like the lamest question you have ever been asked :D however...
....above in the same post you mention....
"but you can very easily update it using a pendrive"
then...
"I use a lexar jumpdrive and it works great"
Can I assume a "pendrive" and a "jumpdrive" are virtually if not exactly the same thing?
:D
Have a great day!

It's usually referred to as a Flash Drive. It also goes by the name Pen Drive.
Jumpdrive is a line of products manufactured by Lexar.
EP Memory puts out a line called Surfdrive.
So, it goes by a lot of names. Places like newegg.com list them as a Flash Drive.

I've ordered both the CodeBreaker 8.1 PS2 and Lexar Media 128MB JumpDrive Portable USB 2.0 Drive
Should have them by the end of the week.
Chances are if I run into a "snag" using the "breaker"...guess where I'll come? :D ;)
Thanks again for all your help and most especially for your patience.
Have a great day!
